TMNT: the unexpected friendship

Chapter 16: Braving the Elements

Bianca had never seen something so truly terrifying in front of her in her life, well she had, but this was way worse; worse than some stupid dream she could wake up from. There was not one, not two, but THREE Shredders stalking towards her and what she considered her family. Though they were equally as terrifying as the Shredder, they each had their own…quirk. For example one was way more muscular than the real Shredder, but it might've been due to the face that he had two extra arms to fit on his body popping out of his sides. The second one was taller and scrawnier than the real Shredder, but his arms were much longer and horribly deformed with snappers at the end. And the other one, you could had the Shredder's fighting spirit, because there was nothing you could say about him being related to the Shredder since he was so, pint sized, like a mini me from Austin Powers.

"Dear God…" Bianca croaked, she still couldn't believe her eyes.

"What, are those things?" Leo asked, trying to make sure he wasn't dreaming. That's when they began their charge on our heroes.

"I would guess genetically engineered hybrid clones." Donny hypothesized as he began blocking shots from the four armed creep. "Recombinant genetic mutations of Shredder DNA!"

"That's what I was gonna say!" Mikey added sarcastically.

"I didn't think the Shredder could appear any uglier, I hate that I was proven wrong!" Bianca groaned as she failed to swipe at the mini me Shredder clone. He was way too fast to keep track of. Leo and Raph soon joined the fight. Leo got into a stand still with him, the Shredder's mino bladed arm against Leo's swords.

"Hold, still you puny little-" Leo grunted as the little guy escaped, jumped up high on the wall and proceeded to knock down the trio like dominos, and lucky Bianca was in the middle of Leo and Raph.

"Get, off; NOW." She groaned, finally managing to get Leo off of her torso. His shell was not comfortable at all. She tried to get up but groaned, she felt like her shoulder popped out. Raph held her steady as she tried to fall back on him again.

"Don't even think about it, not da time or place." Raph chuckled.

"Get over yourself." Bianca groaned as she popped her own shoulder back into place. She moved it tenderly and then got up, helping Raph up in the process.

"Yo, armed and dangerous, how'd you like some yucks and chucks?" Mikey taunted as he went head to head with the four-armed man. It didn't take long for Mikey to get knocked out, and next was Donny, and he was too close to the edge.

"Donny!" Bianca screamed as he was just barely hanging on by his bo staff digging into the section of the floor surrounding the hole. The four-armed guy picked him up and gave him a crushing hug, holding him in place. Bianca had enough and charged forward and kicked him in the back of the knees, he fell to his knees and let go of Donny who successfully got away from the edge and fought somewhere else. While Bianca was focusing on Donny's safety, she wasn't looking out for her own and because of that got slammed into the opposite wall. "Agh!" She groaned as she got up "Why you…!" She charged again and with the help from Donny she was able to knock him through a wall where he stayed down; at least for the moment.

"You okay?" She asked him gingerly placing an arm on Donny's forearm.

"I will be, as soon as I can get back in contact with April." Donny sighed as he motioned to his head, Bianca noticing that his headset was missing. Once finally all the freaks were taken out creatively, Mikey's phone rang.

"Mutant clone control: you splice them we slice them." Bianca couldn't help from smile at Mikey's response. He listened for a moment and then looked to Donny. "Yo, Donny, it's for you." The phone flew through the air from one turtle to the next. Donny caught it and unhooked the built in headset from the phone. He gave the phone back to Mikey but proceeded to talk to April.

"April, what did you find?" He strolled over to a dashboard near the test tubes that were knocked over and he felt around underneath it until saying, "Got it." Donny presses a button under a desk and a door opens, on the other side of the giant hole in the floor.

"And, how are we supposed to get across that?" Raph asked.

"If we had say, a super awesome flying vehicle, then maybe we could get across. Wonder when we could've gotten one of those?" Mikey nagged.

"Face the facts shell for brains, it's gone!" Bianca groaned.

"No sweat. I came prepared." Donny said using a grappling hook and hooking it to a pipe above. He swings over and swings the rope over to Bianca.

"Don, you are the man, turtle, whatever." Bianca sputters. Don swings it back and Mikey grabs it. He does a Tarzan impersonation and stops once he's landed. Donny stares at him.

"What? At least it ain't cowabunga." Mikey chided.

"I think I would've preferred that. Get any louder and you'll wake up the Shred head double gangers. It'll be on you." Bianca said yelling at him.

"C'mon we don't got all day, get movin'." Raph says pushing Bianca forward.

"Won't argue with you there…" She sighs grabbing the rope. There's groaning from behind the remainder of the group on the wrong side of the hole. They spin around and the creatures are getting up. "Like I said, THIS IS ON YOU!" Bianca yells as she takes a few steps back, runs, and then successfully lands on the other side of the hole. She then slaps Mikey's arm deservingly. She throws the rope back to Leo and he and Master Splinter take it.

"I got this." Raph steps forward, awaiting the oddly shaped armed form of Shredder. Once Raph sees that Leo is ready to throw the rope back, he slices at the moster to keep him at bay as Raph makes a move to grab the rope. "Later lobster limbs." As Raph starts swinging on the rope, the lobster limbed Shredder is able to snap the rope and Raph falls.

"Raph!" Everyone calls worriedly as they run to the edge of the hole.

"Yeah, what?" Raph asks annoyed, he's alright, just hanging around, specifically hanging onto a pipe that was sticking out. Bianca notices a machine online again and looks around on the floor below them. She sees Hun sitting in the mega tank that wasn't destroyed during their battle and foot ninjas on the ground.

"Oh great, we got another meat head on the loose down there." Bianca points down to where Hun is trying to control the tank. Leo observes the situation and then calls to Raph,

"Raph, don't move til I tell you."

"What are ya nuts?" He's obviously not taking his situation well.

"Trust me, bro." Leo chides.

"Just hang in there a little longer." Bianca adds.

"Like I gotta choice!" He yells back.

"Get ready." Leo watches as the Shredder clones draw closer and times it with when Hun readies the missile launcher. When Hun presses the button Leo calls out, "Now!" Raph swings to another pipe sticking out with ease and makes it over to the other side with his family and Bianca. The lobster limbed clone took Raph's place on the pole and Hun shot his missile at the clone, which caused the floor to collapse, or in Hun's case, the ceiling.

"Hurry it up guys, we're about to have another clone encounter." Donny says trying to hurry his brothers along as he frantically presses the button for the elevator to arrive. The two clones left on the other side start to stand and walk over to the edge of the hole.

"Ha, ha! Denied!" Mikey teased them. Unfortunately that only encouraged the monsters to get to the gang and they jump over with ease over the hole. Now the gang was in trouble.

"Aw, shell." Raph groans as everyone readies their weapons again. They start to stalk over slowly towards the gang but thankfully the elevator arrives and the doors slide open.

"Woo, ladies first!" Bianca cheers, heading into the elevator even before Donny.

"Hey, guys!" Donny calls to his brothers. They turn around and quickly head into the elevator and the doors close behind them. Everyone was breathing heavily. Bianca even collapsed onto the ground.

"Okay, did Shredder wake up one morning and say, 'Hey, here's an idea, mutant clones of me, really ugly ones'." Mikey mocked doing a Shredder impression by lowering his voice. Once he said that the doors started being forced open from the outside.

"When will these guys quit?" Bianca complained, getting up off the ground.

"Hold that thought." Donny stated. Scrambling through his bag, Donny found some more electrocuting shuriken and threw them at the creatures. They were shocked and they fell back, the doors closing again.

"Everybody out, double time!" Leo announced, not wanting to wait around until the creatures got up again and tried to claw at them more.

"Nun chuck express: going up!" Mikey held out his nun chucks out and Raph stepped on the chain part and was shot up through the hole in the elevator Leo propped open. Bianca went next, then Leo, soon after Donny, and then Splinter. Once everyone was out, Leo and Don pulled up Mikey before four arms tried to grab for his feet.

"Now what?" Raph asked impatiently. Leo looked around for an idea.

"Grab on to the counterweight cable." He stated. Everyone did as he said and it wasn't soon before the Little Shredder bounced through the cover to the inside of the elevator while his buddy had a harder time trying to get through.

"Leo…I don't like how you're brains thinking…" Bianca shuddered as she held on for dear life.

"You got any better ideas?" He asked her.

"No…" She murmured.

"Then you'll just have to settle." He then grabbed her arm and slung it over his back and she got the message to get on his back. She hopped on board without a complaint and hung on for dear life. "Hang on!" Leo then cut the cord and they went flying up while as the elevator plummeted to the bottom.

"AH!" Bianca screamed the whole time. "I don't like this!" She complained. Unintentionally she dug her nails into Leo's shoulders.

"Get ready, it's about to hit!" Leo announced. Moments after he said that, there was a huge explosion and the cord they were holding on to sprang up and flung everyone off except for Splinter. Leo grabbed on to a large pipe, Mikey was hanging off the side of a small ledge on the wall, and Raph and Donny were on the ledge to the next floor above Leo and Bianca.

"Bianca…" Leo groaned.

"Yeah…" Bianca squeaked, not opening her squeezed tight eyes.

"Can you, take your nails out of my skin?" He pleaded a little.

"Oh, sorry!" Her eyes shot open and her hands unlatched from his shoulders, still able to be on his shell with her legs wrapped around his torso. "I don't wanna do that again any time soon." She sighed shakily.

"Hopefully, we won't have to." He breathed. "You okay?"

"Yeah, a little shaken up, but I'll manage. You?"

"Besides the nail marks etched into my shoulders, I'm doing okay."

"Again, sorry." She breathed, sounding like a light laugh.

"My children, are you alright?" Splinter's voice called.

"Yeah, peachy." Raph groaned. He and Donny climbed up to the ledge and Raph forced the doors open with his sais. Everyone joined Raph and Don once they were able to climb up. Bianca hopped off of Leo's back and they all stared at the hallway they had now entered. They were about to walk forward to the door with the Foot insignia on the other side when Splinter halted the group.

"What is it sensei?" Leo asked.

"I sense something…traps." Splinter announced after sniffing the air. "We must proceed with caution." Splinter then proceeded to use the walls to get across the hallway, hopping from one side to another, then safely landing on the opposite end. Feeling a chill run up and down her spine, Bianca closed her eyes and concentrated.

"There's a dark presence up ahead…we need to be prepared for whatever comes our way." Bianca said after opening her eyes up again, staring at the Foot insignia like it was the worst thing in the world.

"Can ya be a lil more specific than that?" Raph asked impatiently.

"I'm sorry. There's nothing I can to describe the feeling, whoever or whatever is behind there is gonna be tough." Bianca sighed.

"Great, more fun jobs for us to do." Mikey sighed. Donny then proceeded to do the same as Master Splinter, but this time with a running start and only using the wall once to get him to the other side. Raph stepped forward and looked at the floor.

"There ain't no traps down dere." Raph ran across the floor carelessly and then his foot sank into a ground, he stepped on a trigger. Giant blades from the ceilings swung down and tried to slice Raph up like sushi. Thankfully he was able to avoid them and then at the end of the wall after the blades was a giant pit. Raph was able to jump across it and land in a squat on the other side with Don and sensei.

"Raphael, your rashness will be the end of you yet." Splinter scolded.

"Ey I made it didn't I?" Raph argued.

"And what of the rest?" Splinter countered, motioning with his hand to his other children on the other side of the hall.

"No sweat Master Splinter: Mikey got game, Mikey got hops, Mikey be in the zone!" Mikey playfully dodged the blades as they swung down. "Booyah! Ha! In your face you puny girly blades."

"On what planet are those girly?" Bianca yelled across the hall but she was ignored.

"Go Mikey, go Mikey, go, go, go Mikey." Mikey chanted doing the moonwalk. A blade came close to slicing Mikey's head off but only made the tails of his headband shorter. "Hey! Ah!" Mikey then hustled across the rest of the hallway and fell on his stomach landing on the other side.

"Where are those fad moves of yours?" Bianca asked sarcastically as she couldn't hold back her mock laughter.

"The trendy new short headbands are in this season. All the stylish ninjas are wearing them." Mikey reasoned to his sensei who looked at him like any parent would when their child was in trouble or was about to get into trouble.

"Lemme show you how it's done." Bianca smirked as she prepped to run. She started in a runner's position and then launched off. She did a tumbling routine she remembered doing in those awful cheerleading days of hers. She did a lot of back hand springs and flipped over the spinning blades and when she drew closer to the pit, she began running again and then did one more back hand spring and flipped twice in the air. She squatted with her back to the gang on the other side and stood up with a finishing pose.

"Perfect finish." She said smirking. "Now that's how it's done." She pivoted on her heel and crossed her arms over her body in triumph.

"You're not gonna end with 'GO tigers!' or something?" Mikey mocked. The scowl on Bianca's face could've killed someone if personified. She retaliated to Mikey's comment by pulling at his short headband tails and pulling him to the ground, flat on his shell.

"It's called being a gymnast, dumbass." She growled leaning over him.

"Bianca…" Splinter scorned.

"Sorry Master Splinter…" She sighed as she straightened up and bowed to him. Leo soon made it over the hallway easily and landed swiftly.

"No more fooling around Mikey!" Leo growled at Mikey. "Not today!" Mikey sighed and went to go open the door to the next room. He pushed at it and it didn't open.

"I, it won't budge!" Mikey complained, putting more strain on it.

"You're just chicken…" Raph complained as he gave it a shot. It wouldn't budge for him either. "He wasn't kiddin…" Bianca then looked at the door and the sudden rush of darkness washed over her, trying to penetrate her but failing. It hissed at her and she stared at the darkness she could only see mysteriously, it shrank back into the door.

"I think I need to…" Bianca said approaching the door slowly. She began to hold out her hand to touch the door but hesitated, deciding it was worth a shot she touched the door, the darkness retreating from her touch. She pushed it lightly and the doors flew open. "Hm…" She mused as she stepped forward into the new room.

"Well, we loosened it for you." Mikey retorted.

"Mm-hm." Bianca hummed as a smirk formed on her lips. The guys and sensei followed her in and stared at the strange room around them. The door closed behind them.

"No turning back." Leo announced. Everyone turned to the doors.

"Like we had a choice." Raph sighed as he continued forward. Splinter's eyes fell on the back wall were weird tapestries with different designed foot insignias were hanging.

"These symbols represent each of the five elements." Splinter noted, approaching the tapestries cautiously.

"Aren't there only four elements?" Bianca piped up curiously.

"No, there is earth, fire, water, wind, and metal." Splinter explained, pointing to each of the different tapestries.

"Metal, an element? Okay, whatever." Bianca sighed rolling her eyes. The darkness increased slightly in the room. "Oh I should mention, if it opened for me, there's gonna be a trap, most likely."

"Why would you say that?" Donny asked.

"Because maybe if the Shredder knows you're here, maybe he knows I'm here. He still wants me for some strange reason right?"

"It is not so strange at all." Came a new voice, it sounded sinister, almost like a hissing. Everyone looked around, not sure where the voice came from. There were statues of weirdly dressed people on top of platforms and they slowly started to turn color and flinch.

"Look!" Leo called out as they hopped of their pedestals.

"Be prepared for anything, my children." Master Splinter warned. The once figurines staffs all began to glow and they shot at the gang, sending them flying back.

"Do Technicolor lightning bolts count as, 'anything'?" Mikey groaned, his head collided with a cobblestone roughly.

"Your lives will end in our spiritual realm: and the god will be ours to control." One of them hissed.

"God?" Leo asked curiously.

"I know I'm pretty godly, but I hope they're not talking about me." Mikey hoped and most of the group groaned at his egotistical ways.

"He stands before you, sleeping in a blissful slumber." Another voice added.

"There!" Another not so statue chimed in pointing at Bianca. "We shall capture him and the power that dwells through his veins shall be ours once more!"

"I, I think they mean you…" Donny concluded.

"Me?" She asked, stunned as she looked back at her friends. She stood up slowly and turned back to the statues. "You do realize I'm a girl right?"

"Whatever form you may take: we see all and through you." One threatened.

"That's, disturbing." Bianca shuddered as she shifted to the side so she wasn't completely facing them, also with her arms crossed over her body protectively.

"Let our flames clash one more time." Said the one dressed in orange and red.

"What? I don't have any flames." He charged nonetheless, staff ablaze and fire shooting at Bianca. "GAH!" Bianca just managed to dodge but not by much, she was still touched by the fire.

"Bianca!" Everyone called out.

"I'm, I'm okay." Bianca breathed looking at her charred clothing, but the skin underneath was unharmed. "…Wait, I am okay. That's, weird." Everyone else began their own individual fights with the strange enemies. Bianca clashed with the fire element person. They seemed to be evenly matched, no matter when one decided to strike, the other would counter. Bianca finally got the upper hand by tripping the fire caster and then she grabbed him by the ankles, swung him around, and threw him into the fountain in the back. He screamed in pain as the water physically seemed to burn his skin; made sense since water and fire are opposites, it'd be his weakness.

"And stay down!" Bianca tried to sound triumphant taking down the strange man but she was wiped. Another caster seemed to notice the defeat and started to glide over to her. His armor was made of mud.

"I shall avenge my brother, and you shall face the ultimate fate." He pointed his staff forward and the ground under Bianca's feet began to melt into clay and she suddenly started to sink, rather quickly.

"AH!" She screamed. No matter how much she tried to struggle, the rock wouldn't let go of her. She was already up to her torso, only one arm free.

"Bianca!" Leo cried. He left his brothers to face the one element on their own leaped towards Bianca, just managing to grab her hand. It didn't seem to do much since she still continued to sink, just not as quickly.

"No matter what you do it won't stop me from sinking, you'll just get dragged down with me!" Bianca yelled at him, trying to plead with her eyes to give up.

"I'd rather have that then have you in harm's way." Leo argued.

"You have to let me go." Bianca whispered after a moment.

"No, I'm not losing you!" He yelled.

"You're not ever going to lose me!" She said louder than him and she gripped his hand tighter. There was a moment where Leo just paused as he let what she said sink in. "We'll meet up later, just make it to the top, please!" She begged.

"Bianca…" Leo was at a loss of words as he just helplessly stared at her retreating form. She let a tear fall as she gave him a small smile.

"I'm sorry…" She whispered as she let go of his hand, though he tried to keep his grip on her. It wasn't long before her hand slip and her whole body was gone, the rock returning to normal.

"NO!" Leo cried, he tried digging at the solid rock, but he knew that she was gone.

As Bianca continued to sink, she felt like she was being suffocated from a rockslide, she could barely breathe. Then she felt her feet leave the rock and she soon slipped out of the suffocation and she fell and landed roughly on her tailbone. She groaned as she tried to situate herself comfortably. She looked up, she was in a new room, and there was a wooden ceiling above her.

"Hope the landing wasn't too, rocky, for you." Came a rough voice that mocked her. Her head snapped in the direction the voice came from and she scowled at Hun's marked up face.

"No, but that pun was." Bianca countered as she was on her hands and knees now. That changed when Hun picked her up by her shirt and threw her roughly until she was up against the wall. She tried getting up but Hun picked her up again, this time by her throat, feet not touching the ground. "Don't try to be funny, it's not your strong suit." She snarled but her face cringed as she was pushed against the wall again, this time the back of her head making contact with the wood.

"The Shredder has been waiting for you." He snickered.

"Ah, really," Bianca choked as she tried to freely let oxygen enter her lungs. "Why am I not surprised?"

"Because you have a large role to play in today's unfolding event." Came that sickening deep voice that haunted her since that fatal day they met. The Shredder emerged from the dark, helmet held under his arm, his onyx eyes staring into her eyes, like he was looking through her. She scuffed, at the same time blowing some loose hair out of her face.

"You keep claiming I have some sort of importance, but I still yet to see why you want a sixteen year old girl, well besides the nasty reasons."

"How dare you imply me to stooping so low." He stalked quickly over to where she was and held her chin in place, snarling at her. "You'll need time to think about your wrong doings and you'll soon give into me."

"Psht, like that's gonna happen." She scuffed again.

"On the contrary, it will…" He shoved his hand into a pouch he had attached to the side of his hip and some weird black powder was in his hand now. He blew powder into her face and she sneezed. Before she could grasp a hold of her surroundings her head swayed from one side to another before falling forward in defeat, darkness surrounding her in a tight embrace.
