Me: Okay guys, so I ran into some problems with the story I was originally going to release... Luckily I have like a dozen of back up plans, so no worries as soon as TDL is done, there will be a new story released the next week. I just don't think it will be the one I originally planned to release... I've had a bad week, so I really haven't been able to get much work done, which is why my updates have been getting later and later... I'll get it going once again, no worries... I've been really busy though... Between updating, revising, fixing, editing, everyday life, and even helping get ahead with Kindred... I've been up since 4am the past 5 nights, only to wake up at 8am the next day... So, just want you guys to know why I'm getting later and later with updates and everything.. So! To my reviewers:

To Ern Estine 13624: Glad you've enjoyed the story! ^w^

To serenafanfic: :) Yes, yes they did. I'm glad you've enjoyed the story ^w^

To Blueeyesdarkmagic: Lol, well I'm glad that you liked it. I'm sure you'll get into other stories of mine :) And I know, originally TDL wasn't even supposed to be this long XD But, I actually planned out a few more parts for it, and voila! Glad you've enjoyed it though! ^w^

To Rose: Wasn't it cute? I'm glad that you've enjoyed it deary ^w^

Me: I know that wasn't all the people that usually review, and that's okay. I'm just glad that you guys and gals have stuck with the story thus far. This is the last chapter though, and even though I had a few more things planned out for this story, I need to bring it all to a close so I can get to work on another story so I don't just have CID going... XD I hope I can bring more stories that you guys will enjoy, and again, thanks you guys and girls. You've all been awesome ^w^

The Darkest Light

Chapter 23

Epilogue

"Yugi Motou."

Cheers filled the gymnasium, but none were reaching him except the cheers from his Prince of the Shadows. The lights suddenly shut off and the gym was cast into complete darkness as Yugi grabbed ahold of his diploma. He chuckled, shaking his head slightly when gasps of surprise filled the closed area.

"Hikari Light" he whispered, causing the lights to come back to life.

Looking over he found a sheepish grin plastered on his Yamino's face, his best friend/Guardian – Marik – scolding him, while his brother was whispering threats in his ear. He simply shook his head at the nineteen year old, knowing he'd done it completely by accident.

It was a good thing (Yugi realized) that Bakura didn't have shadow powers as well, because if he had, that would've been much worse when Ryou's name had been called. Bakura's cheers had been much louder than his own Yamino's. Judging by the look on Yami's face, he was thinking the same thing.

Since they'd woken up, they'd been inseparable.

"I think they're coming to" a voice called around them.

Yugi was the first to open his eyes, having been in the light and able to recharge faster. Yami stirred only seconds later, sensing a need to be up with his Hikari.

"Are you two okay?" Solomon asked, bending down with the others to surround the boys.

"I-I think so.. Yami?"

"I'm fine. Thanks to you."

"Oh yeah. I forgot that I heal you" Yugi chuckled sheepishly.

"Not a very-"

"If you finish that thought I will hit you with the largest ball of energy I can muster..."

"Right... I'm uh... I'm just gonna shut up now.."

The two were helped to their feet with the help of their Guardians. "Well, looks like we won't have him to worry about anymore" Yami sighed as he got to his feet.

"Yeah, thanks to you two" Marik sighed happily.

"You think there's more like us out there?" The Yamino Prince whispered, turning to look at his Guardian.

"If there are... They'll come find us.. We always seek out the Prince of our kind" Malik assured him with a smile.

"But, the world is a big place" Joey added in.

"So don't be too surprised if it takes them a while to track you down" Seto finished for his Hikari.

"Yes, but we will wait as long as it takes" Yugi said, straightening up as Ryou let go of him. "And when they do finally show up, we will guide them."

"Just as a member of the royal family should" Yami finished, looking down at his Prince.

The two had come to an understanding and agreement that day. They would no longer be alone, they would no longer depend on others to protect them. They'd fight together, as one. Because Unity was the only thing that Yaminos and Hikaris had to lean on, aside from each other. There would no longer be senseless fighting. There would no longer be discriminating against anyone.

Yami would hide in the shadow of his Hikari, and protect him from any and all dangers that dared to approach. While Yugi would shine his light the brightest of all lights, making his shadow the strongest. Yugi wouldn't be afraid of the dark anymore, he'd embrace it. He would learn to love it, and his Yamino that dwelled within it, just so he was no longer alone.

Me: I realize that this chapter wasn't as long as maybe some of you would've liked it to be. But, that is the end, and I have a TON of work to do if I wish to get out the story that I sooo badly want to bring out... I mean, seriously... I have soooo much work to do for it... I must get back to work now so I can get this story out! I hope you all enjoyed reading TDL as much as I enjoyed writing it! You've all been marvelous, until the next story ladies and gentlemen~! * waves * Goodbye!
