Frowning slightly I followed my new team, making sure to keep back from the rest of them. Daichi and Amai were animatedly chatting with our sensei, who was nodding and responding, letting the two steer the conversation. Scowling to myself I wondered how the hell I was going to pay for food. It was hard enough to buy food for the week, let alone go out and eat. Sighing I continued through the main shopping plaza and sat down at the restaurant with them, staring at the menu before sighing and putting it down. Too expensive. I gave a bored look and crossed my arms, feigning disinterest. Daichi was frowning at the menu before he grinned. Amai scanned hers and then smiled and looked over as our sensei ordered what he wanted. They ordered in turn and when it got to me, I just scowled at the waitress.
"Not interested" I muttered, glaring at her. Nodding quickly she scurried off to give the chef the other's orders.
"Aren't you going to have anything to eat Akuma?" Daichi asked, looking puzzled. I just stared blankly at him before getting up and leaving. Shoving my hands in my pockets I walked home staring at the ground.
Unlocking the door and slamming it behind me, I removed my jacket, leaving myself in nothing but pants and a fishnet shirt. I hung my jacket up and placed my shoes by the door. Glancing around my apartment I decided to clean, though I couldn't really find much. Walking into my room I sat down lotus style on a large pillow and proceeded to meditate to calm myself.
"I really need to lengthen my fuse" I muttered to myself an hour later. Glancing at the fridge I scowled and went to bed, not bothering to make myself a meal. Big mistake. I woke up at 4 in the morning and moaned as my stomach rumbled. Rolling out of bed I slumped to the fridge and made myself a protein shake consisting of two raw eggs, milk, vanilla extract and some wheat germ all shaken up together. Drinking it, I wandered around the apartment getting myself ready for the day, nearly tripping over a black shadow.
"Bloody cat" I murmured, wandering back to the kitchen and putting down tuna for the stray cat I fed a year ago and never achieved the dream of getting rid of it. I smiled slightly as I heard it purr softly as it ate. Finishing my shake I went and showered, not bothering with hot water as I needed to wake up. The team meets at seven. I glanced at the clock. 4:45. Cleaning my mess in the kitchen I picked up the cat and stroked its fur. The thing was far from pretty, missing an ear and was a mangy yellow lump of fur but it was company. And it killed mice. Petting him I sorted out his food for the day and got myself ready. Plopping him onto my bed I shrugged into my jacket and left the house. 5:30. Perfect. Checking the door locked properly I set off towards the training fields. In order to get there I had to go past… his house. I stared at it as I walked past. A two story house, average size, white with a green door. Everything about it was nice. Except the person living inside. I considered setting fire to it, not for the first time, before heading off having left early enough that he was asleep. The thing that raised me then dumped me on the street. Taking my time, as I had a lot of it, I wandered slowly towards my destination.
The world spun as I was tackled from behind. All I got was a flash of sharp teeth before my face was smooshed into boobs.
"MMFF!" I pushed out and heaved in a breath of air. "STOP SMOTHERING ME WITH THE THOSE THINGS" I snapped glaring at the culprit.
"Aww but last I saw of you was your pathetic paralysed body" teased the mystery girl. Her name was Kaira and she had this nasty habit of stalking me and claiming to be my friend. Already a Jonin she was older than me. I stared at her in amazement. It was freezing out and here she was in her normal attire of what could be described as a bra and oversized loincloth. She was still sporting her combat boots and that creepy smile. Her teeth were all sharp. And it was natural and about the only thing I liked about her. That and her skill with a sword.
"Leave me alone woman" I sighed, continuing on towards the fields, with a greater haste. She kept pace easily. Her hair was a dark purple and fell unevenly down to her shoulders, since every time it got too long she hacked it off with her katana.
"Who's your sensei?" she asked, ignoring me ignoring her.
"Ashika" I sighed, knowing she wouldn't leave me alone.
"Oh yeah? Cool, she's awesome" she replied, nodding knowingly.
"Ashika's a male and you don't know him do you?" I smirked glancing at her, then stared and scowled when she caught me smiling. She just smiled back.
"I know him. Just wanted to see that smile. I know everyone, you should know that by now. Now go play along with Ashika, Daichi and Amai" and suddenly she was gone, and I was standing alone at the fields, having arrived there a moment ago. Glancing at the sun I guessed it was about 6:30 so I leaned against the tree, resuming my aloof posture that I only ever lost around her.
"Bloody woman. How the heck does she know these things?" I scowled as I waited, deliberately turned away from the entrance to avoid conversation. "I swear to god" I thought, "if Daichi turns up and tries to talk to me I'm gonna strangle him" Glancing at the entrance I watch him enter and inwardly whimper at the sight. I stare blankly as he gives me a wave and runs over to see me.
"Hey Akuma. You're here early" he grins at me and I stare at him.
"Yeah…" I turn away, wanting to talk but refusing to. Glancing back I see him look down. I decide to study his face whilst he's not looking. His blue eyes were really startling. I started when I realised he was looking straight back at me but not wanting to look like I was doing something I shouldn't be I stared straight back. I smirked slightly as I saw him fidget, uncomfortable in the position I was putting him in. "Congratulations by the way" I murmered. "On your nature type. You seemed really happy with it yesterday. Glad it's what you wanted."
"Uh… thanks" he smiled at me obviously feeling triumphant and thinking of me as a friend so I death glared him and smiled as he jumped back and looked away. An evil thought crossed my mind and I grinned. Today's mission, make Daichi as uncomfortable as I possibly can…" I thought, my grin widening. Amai approached us and I heard Daichi whisper to her about the look on my face and how it can't possibly be any good. I chuckled slightly and saw them both shift uncomfortably. "This should be fun."
