Hey Y'all!

I know I'm too late to be late. But school started picking up in second semester and softball started and I was so busy. Anyways, y'all don't really care, but it's summer time so I'll actually be updating regularly now.

Thanks so much for the reviews! I appreciate all of the support. You guys are so sweet!

I started watching Arrow and Young Justice on Netflix. I am so very happy with both of those shows and I totally recommend them!

Enough with my life, let's get back to Kori's first day!

XOXO

Everything Changes:Chapter 4

TT

Kori wandered the plain halls getting swept up in the hoard of colors and chattering teenagers.

She passed a plump woman with greying hair swept under a red chef's hate posting "The Recipe of the Month" outside her door with tacks, a long wooden spoon clenched between her teeth.

Outside the Advanced American Sign Language class, a blonde boy with blue hair and a small, fragile looking girl with pink hair were signing to each other. The blonde boy must have signed something particularly funny because the girl erupted in tinkling laughter. She replied swiftly, her hands appearing to move of their own accord without thought.

Kori's eyes rove over two boys laughing and pushing each other into the walls. One of the boys ran into a girl with curly blonde hair. The girl shoved him out of her way and stalked off, all the while chastising him about watching where he's going.

For a while, Kori was content with just walking the halls people watching. It was one of her favorite pass times. It was nice to busy her mind with questions on what they were thinking of. Soon enough however, she realized that she had no idea where she was going.

Kori spotted a boy with shaggy brown hair and dark brown eyes wearing a black shirt with a giant red 'X' on it. "Excuse me, my name is Kori. I just moved here and I am afraid that I have gotten myself lost. Would you be so kind as to tell me where the gym is?"

"Sure, cutie. I'm headed that way myself," the boy smirked and eyed her chest with ravenous interest.

Kori cleared her throat, pulled her jacket tighter around herself, and crossed her arms. "I am sorry, but I did not catch your name."

"That's because I didn't give it, sweet-cheeks," the boy gave her chest another approving side-glance before taking a long stride down the hall into the Commons. "It's Xavier. Xavier Red."

The two unlikely pair, Kori, the perfect, innocent girl, and Xavier, the cliché bad boy with a reputation to support it, crossed the Commons of milling students into the school's left wing containing with the gym, performing arts center, art and woodshop classes, and practice rooms for the band, orchestra, and choir kids.

Xavier turned to the north side of the left wing and Kori followed just a step behind. "Here we are," Xavier said, gesturing to a row of glass doors, hidden behind which was a large gym with tall bleachers lining both walls. A white board on wheels blocked the way down the hall to the right read, "All P.E. Students Report to the Main Gym."

"After you," Xavier held one of the doors open for her.

"Thank you," Kori replied with her sweet voice. Xavier followed behind, appreciating the view from behind, that perv. (If you don't know someone like this, you are so very lucky.)

Kids were sitting in the bleachers, spread into two groups. A chiseled woman (Think of the strongest person you know, then times 2. That's how strong this woman is) wearing work out clothes and brand new Nike running shoes. "Hi, come on in," the woman said, her voice matching her outward appearance: commanding. "Whose class are you in?"

"Mr. Mammoth's," Kori flashed a polite smile.

"Alright, head on over to the end there with Mr. Mammoth," the woman pointed to the opposite end of the bleachers where a group of twenty or so students quivered in fear of a muscular man with hair all over his arms and legs. "Red!" the woman barked. "Unfortunately, you're in my class again this semester. Get over here!"

"Yeah, Ms. Prince," Xavier acknowledged the gym teacher, turning towards the bleachers. "See ya later, cutie," he turned his head over his shoulder to Kori and winked.

Kori wrinkled her nose. This guy was creepy and gross.

Kori looked over the bleachers in search for Karen. Soon a waving hand caught her attention and Kori sat down next to Karen, whose hand was the one waving. "Hey girl, sorry I bailed on you after math. I had to talk to Victor."

Kori raised an eyebrow at her smeared lip-gloss that was once perfect. "Talk, huh?"

"Mm hmm," Karen hummed before giggling along with Kori. Mr. Mammoth interrupted their laughter with his deep voice. He handed out a list of all the sports they'd be learning that year and information on cardio days and the P.E. final, the dreaded (for most students) 5k.

The period passed by quickly. Mr. Mammoth finished speaking with fifteen minutes to spare so Karen introduced Kori to Roy Harper, a redheaded boy with blue eyes. He was very nice, a lot better than Xavier.

Kori and Roy hit it off quickly with similar preferences in superheroes. "This is really embarrassing, but my favorite show is Arrow, you know the one based on Green Arrow? And sometimes I like to watch old superhero shows on Netflix like Batman and Justice League," Roy said smiling sheepishly after Kori asked what his favorite TV show is.

"Really? I too enjoy watching Arrow!" Kori beamed at him.

The shrill bell rang through out the school, ending the class. "Roy, you have Euro next period too, right? Can I trust you to talk Kori to class with you so she doesn't have to walk with that freak Xavier?"

"Yeah, of course. I'd be happy to." Roy smiled at Kori and she returned his with one of her own. Karen looked on with a knowing smirk on her face.
