Through The Darkness ch. 12
Naruto's P.O.V.
It's been a few weeks since I've been on the team and I think that I'm making my way through the ranks pretty quickly. My skills as a wide receiver have improved since I've been working with the Pirates. Gaara is an amazing team captain and quarterback. He pushes everyone on the team to give 110% and then some. The read head is almost as bad as Anko-sensei when he's on the field but when he isn't; Gaara is a completely different person. He's pretty laid-back, mellow and easy to talk to. He's there when someone has a problem and needs to talk to someone.
Practice was over for the day and honestly I could use a break. I'm getting used to the ridiculous training regimen but my legs still feel like they're on fire. I grab my bag when someone grabs my ass. I jumped to see that it's Sai with that same creepy, perverted smile on his face. What the hell with all these perverted guys that I kept running into on every freaking team? What the heck did I do to deserve this? Seriously! "Sai, will you please stop grabbing my ass? I am not interested for the millionth time," I yelled to him, getting really annoyed with this guy.
"You keep on saying that, Whiskers. Oh look at that, I dropped my dollar," Sai said as he purposely dropped a dollar in front of me. I shake my head at him. I am not picking that up just so he can stare at my ass. Sai steps in front of me and turns away from me. He bends over slowly to pick up the dollar and rubs his ass up against my crotch. What the hell is wrong with this guy? Why can't he take a fucking hint? I pushed him away from me and glare at him. Sai just smiles at me before blowing a kiss in my direction. Guys like him don't understand the meaning of no unless someone beats it into them and I'm really close doing it too. I'm really not a violent person but Sai is slowly but surely bringing it out of me.
Gaara walks up to me after seeing everything that happened. "I'm sorry about him, Naruto. Sai can really work on people's nerves but I'll talk to him," Gaara said putting a hand on my shoulder.
"Thanks Gaara cause I'm really close to beating the shit out of him," I growled, pinching the bridge of my nose in irritation.
"No worries, why don't you get some rest this weekend and we'll see you on Monday. It's pretty important so make sure you're well rested," Gaara demanded, smiling.
"How come?" I asked curiously.
"That's when we have our first game of the season and Anko-sensei thinks it's time that you get some field time to show off your skills to the people," Gaara said smirking. My jaw fell to the ground in shock. My first game as part of the Pirates is this Monday. I couldn't believe it. Everything that I have been working towards is coming true and I can officially become part of this team. I can't wait for Monday now and to tell my family about it.
"I don't know what to say but I'll be there. Nothing is gonna stand in my way now," I said confidently.
"I like the energy and we're gonna need it. See ya on Monday," Gaara said walking away. I ran over to my car and drove home to find Hinata on the couch with Akira. His presence couldn't ruin how great I was feeling right now. Hinata looked at me with a confused look on her face when I pulled her into a bear hug.
"Naruto-nii, can't… breathe…" Hinata said between breaths.
"Sorry Hinata-chan but I have awesome news that I need to tell someone about," I told her, loosening my grip.
"What is it?" She said raising an eyebrow.
"I'm having my first game this Monday with the Pirates!" I said grinning like an idiot.
"Oh my god, I'm so happy for you, Naruto-kun! I can't wait to see you play!" Hinata said hugging me tightly. Akira congratulated me and patted me on my back. When Kyuubi and mom walked in, I told them the good news. Of course Kyuubi tells me not to get my ass slammed to the ground but I know he's happy for me. Why can't he just say that he's happy for me like a normal person? My mom kissed me on my cheek and says that she's so proud of me. I can't wait for the game to come so I can show everyone what Naruto Uzumaki can do.
I walk towards the door. "Where are you going honey?" My mom asked curious.
"I got one more person that I want to share the good news with," I said fondly, a dreamy expression on my face from I'm thinking of said person.
"Okay, tell Sasuke-kun that I said hello," My mom said a smirk appearing on her face. My face went pale at what came out of her mouth. How did my mom know about Sasuke? I didn't say anything to her about him. I look at Kyuubi and Hinata and they raised their hands in a motion that said that they didn't do it. It couldn't be Akira since I haven't really talked to him. My mom laughs at me and pats me on my cheek in an affectionate way. "I'm your mother Naruto and I do have my ways of finding out things," she told me, walking away. I shook my head. My mom is so weird but I love her. I couldn't keep secrets from her even if I wanted to. She's like a ninja when it comes to her children.
I walked out of the apartment and hopped into my car. I drove over to Sasuke's place and knocked on the front door. The door opens to reveal to Sasuke who is now 3 ½ months pregnant and he's starting to show a little bit, I thought it looks cute on him though. "What are you doing here, dobe?" Sasuke asked letting me in.
"I wanted to tell you something!" I said grinning.
"You could've called me over the phone ya know. You're such a dobe," he said rolling his eyes.
"I know but I wanted to tell you in person and see your expression," I told him, scratching the back of my head.
"What is it?" Sasuke asked.
"My first game is this Monday. I get to play with the Pirates!" I said, getting supper pumped.
"Congrats dobe," he said, smiling back at me. It's very rare that Sasuke smiles and the fact that it was directed at me made me feel super warm inside. I put my hand on his growing belly and rubbed affectionately. I don't why but I'm really excited for this baby to get here, I wanted him or her to be proud of me too. This baby isn't even mine but I will treat it if it was my own. I'll help Sasuke raise it.
"Hi baby, I'm having my first major game in a few days and I know that we're gonna win so I'm hoping that you and Daddy will come to give me some luck. Just know that I love you and Daddy very much and I'm gonna take care of you both. Hurry so I can see your beautiful smiling face," I said kissing Sasuke's belly through his shirt.
"Why are you always doing that?" Sasuke asked raising an eyebrow, his face slightly red with blush.
"I read that a baby can hear you in the womb so when it's born, I want the baby to know who I am," I told him, grinning like an idiot. I have read different books on pregnancy and babies in the womb. I have been learning a lot and I want to be able to help Sasuke in any possible way that I can. Sasuke smiles a little bit and stood in front of me, wrapping his arms around my waist. I know that Sasuke doesn't like to be touched very much and I respected that. To have him initiate the physical contact says a lot on how much he actually trusts me. He gives me a small peck on the lips.
"Thank you… Thanks for everything that you're doing for me and the baby. I don't know how I would gotten through this without you and I really appreciate it," Sasuke murmured as he nuzzled his face into the crook of my neck. "You're welcome. I'll be here for you no matter Sasuke, you have my word," I said hugging him back.
