The rest of the day was uneventful, Sesshomaru had asked her to stay close the the main house because he asked his family doctor to come by with some prescriptions for her. So she decided to spend the day with Rin and she enjoyed the time they were able to spend together. Once Rin wanted to go off and do her own thing Kagome became extremely board and began to help around the house. She did simple cleaning jobs, and helped the chef cook Sesshomaru's lunch. She also got to know the help a lot better, one she took a particular liking to. Her name was Yuka, and she was head of the help in the house. Yuka showed Kagome the different rooms- even Sesshomaru's which she found to be very nice. She was told that they only cleaned his room about once a week because he keeps it clean on his own. His room had an elegant but ancient look to it, and above his bed was two swords, one was a family treasure and the other was one he just took a liking to.

At the end of the day she laid in bed thinking about what ever came to mind, until she saw her prescription. She could feel her mood darken as Sota flashed through her thoughts. The doctor had explained to her that eventually she would need surgery to put a stint in her Artery, sooner than later would be best because her risk of heart failure is now higher. She just couldn't understand why this would happen to her. For the most part she was healthy, yeah maybe she drank to much at times and had a burger when she probably should have had a salad, but she stayed fit for the most part. The best guess the doctor had was it was hereditary and was brought on by stress. What would she tell Sota?

The next day was her dinner with Sesshomaru and when she woke up it was already going wrong. She tossed and turned all night so the bags under eyes added an extra five years to her looks. She had been trying to decided what to wear when her cell phone rang. "Hello." She answered irritated.

"Grumpy much." The voice laughed.

"Oh hey Sango, sorry I'm kind of-"

"Losing your mind, so I've heard." She laughed

"Do you think you can come over here earlier?" Her voice was smothered in despair.

"Sure, what time?"

"Now would be great." Kagome cried.

"Outfit?"

"That obvious?" Kagome sighed.

"Very. Be there in a few, text me the directions."

"Okay." She text Sango the direction as soon as they hung up. A few hours later she made her way to the main gate. Her pace quickened when she saw Sango's red mustang pulling up to the gate. "Wait," she stopped the guards from pulling out their guns. "She is a friend of mine. I have spoken with Sesshomaru, he has granted me permission." They opened the gate and allowed her in.

"Kagome!" She screamed hopping out of the car.

"Sango!" She screamed back taking her friend in a bone crushing hug. "I'm so happy you're here."

"Honestly I thought I would never see you again. I hadn't heard from you in so long nor could I get a hold of you." She glared

"Sorry about that." Kagome laughed.

"And," Sango added. "no wonder your going crazy, who would live way out here?"

"That would be me." Sesshomaru was as cold as ever.

"Oh." Sango caught her breath. "Okay then." She stopped and looked up at him towering over her.

"It's not really that bad." Kagome smiled. "Sesshomaru I'm sure you remember my best friend."

"Nice to meet you, now if you will excuse us we have to talk." She locked arms with Kagome and drug her away.

"See you later." Kagome waved.

"Okay." Sango slammed open the door to her closet. "I don't remember you having this many clothes!"

"Cause I didn't."

"Then where did they come from?" She asked going through her shirts. "I mean come on, all these clothes and you don't know what to wear?"

"Well, Sesshomaru bought them for me."

"What? You have got to be kidding me!"

"No, when he kidnapped me the only things I had were the clothes on my back and what was in my purse. He took me shopping and told me to get what ever I wanted."

"Handsom and rich, he can kidnap me anytime." Sango sighed. "Did you at least get some new lingerie?"

"No!" Kagome blushed.

"Relax!" Sango laughed. "Well we better get started. Where are you going and who are you going with?"

"On a business dinner." That wasn't really a lie. "With Sesshomaru."

"Well then lets see." Sango made her self at home in Kagome's closet taking things off the hanger and throwing them out if it was a 'no'.

"Hey these were expensive!" Kagome yelled catching her garments.

"And very cute, but not what you need for this dinner."

"Then what do I need?"

"Still working on that." Sango held up a piece of clothing. "Kagome I didn't know you had a sense of style. Very cute."

"I tried to channel my inner Sango." She laughed.

"Well just leave this to me, all I need you to do is try these on." Sango threw her some outfits. "Well what are you waiting for? I'm doing my job now you have to do yours!"

She tried on at least twenty outfits, and she could have sworn she tried on the same pants six times! "Perfect!" Sango smile. It was a white dress that came to just above her knees and hung loose enough to flaunt her figure but leave the rest to the imagination.

"Are you sure?"

"Kagome you look great, and it makes your boobs look amazing." Kagome blushed and covered her chest but Sango ignored her. "Now we need shoes and jewelry. That silver necklace is nice, but does nothing for the outfit." Sango motioned to the pendent around Kagome's neck.

"The family crest?" Kagome whispered.

"The what?"

"Nothing, but I can't take this off."

"Why not?" She could hear the seriousness in Kagome's voice, and when she saw the look in her eye she could guess, "Has to do with your father." She nodded. "What have you gotten into?" Sango whispered as she pulled Kagome into a hug. "You know I didn't want to tell you but you look horrible." Kagome couldn't help but laugh. Sango always knew what to say.

"Thanks Sango."

"It's what you called me here for right? Speaking of, where are your shoes?!" Sango cheered. This is the part that worried Kagome, Sango was a shoe-a-holic. She would go out of her way to buy a pair she would only wear once. "Well?"

"Uh." Kagome hesitated.

"Oh never mind, I'll find them my self." It didn't take her long, Kagome could never hide shoes from Sango. It's like she could smell them. "I say these." She held up a white pair of diamond studded heels. Kagome tried them on to see what it would look like and Sango squealed in approval. "Here!" She took her bracelet off and shoved it at Kagome. "Well, put it on."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive." She put it on Kagome's wrist. "Oh," Sango went to Kagome's jewelry box and pulled out some earrings."

Kagome looked in her full length mirror, then turned to hug Sango "Thank you so much."

"Hey it was no problem. Now you go get ready." When Kagome go out of the shower they tried to decided on a hair do, but nothing seemed to satisfied both of them. "Down?"

"Down." They agreed. While Sango did her hair and make up it gave them a chance to talk.

"So," Sango began. "What's the real deal with these two?"

"I'm not sure really."

"Did you make the list like I told you to." She eyed Kagome in the mirror.

"No."

"Why not?" It was like getting scolded by your parents for not doing her homework.

"It just seemed..." Kagome couldn't seem to find that right word. "wrong?"

"Look, you never know what the out come will be. The guy you may choose now might not be Mr. Right, but are you willing to walk away from both of them and not know for sure?" Kagome kind of shrugged at her friends logic. "Lets make it now."

"Okay," Kagome huffed. "well when it comes to Inuyasha I love spending time with him. He makes everything seem normal when I know it's not. He's sweet and funny. She laughed to her self a little bit. "He doesn't put everything he is into his family business. He talks to me, and I mean actual sentences!" She fumed. "Not just one word answers or awkward stares. If he wants something he goes for it. He takes me out and we do stuff normal couples would do."

"But?" She lead Kagome on.

"I don't completely trust him."

"And his brother?"

She didn't know what to say at first so she just started with the first thing she remembered about him. "The intensity in his eyes, and his body." Sango raised a brow. "Just being thorough." She laughed. "His dedication and drive. His fierceness and protective instincts, I feel like nothing can touch me or hurt me if he's there. He understands me- my thoughts, my body language. I mean he can read me like a book but still respects my privacy and my feelings."

"But?"

"Choosing him means choosing a life I've been trying to run away from." She didn't expect Sango to understand that. She had kept her past from every one.

"Do you hear your self? It sounds like your naming the things that are keeping you away from the one really want." She cupped Kagome's face in her hands. "Follow your heart." Some help that was. "You may love them both, but you are only in love with one. You just need to figure out what your willing to sacrifice." Kagome smiled. "Now, go get in your dress."

Kagome came out of her room at close to 9:00. "So, how do I look?" She did a twirl down the hall for Sango.

"My little Kagome is finally growing up." She pretended to cry. Both girls burst into laughter, but fell silent when the door bell rang. "Well there you go." Sango smiled

"Right, but what will you do?"

"I'll stay here and wait for you. Then you can give me all the juicy details, and we can stay up all night and eat ice cream." They both laughed. "Let me answer." Sango ran for the door and pushed Kagome to the side. "Sessho buddy."

"Sesshomaru." he corrected.

"Yeah, uh huh, I presume you're looking for Kagome?"

"..."

"Boy she was right, you're not very talkative. Very well. Hey Kagome Sessho is here." He Didn't bother to correct her this time, nor he really care to when Kagome stepped in his line of vision. He was silent but Sango could feel a change in the atmosphere. Kagome was happy to see the way he was dressed, true mobster style suit and tie.

"So, you kids be back by midnight" Sango put her arms around the two. Sesshomaru held back and sighed of irritation, and Kagome giggled at her friends antics.

"Well then shall we be going?" He asked. Kagome took his arm smiling.

"Well I guess that's it for them." Sango took her self back inside. "As for this place," She ran her finger across the window seal. "Yup needs to be cleaned." Sango looked through the whole house and finally found some candles and set them up in the living room and lit them. After about an hour or two of cleaning, washing, and scrubbing Sango laid her down a pallet of blankets on the floor. "Guess I will wait for Kagome to get home." Sango looked at her watch. "Uh huh 12:30, I knew I couldn't trust them." She laughed to her self.

"I know that was not the best dinner. But I must say your presence was helpful." Sesshomaru recalled the look on the elder DeStafano's face when he introduced Kagome.

"I had a feeling that's why Taiysho requested me." She laughed "My father's reputation proceeds me."

"I want you to know, these dinners may be mandatory for me but they aren't for you."

"I guess you could say I went out of guilt." Kagome shrugged and he knew exactly what she meant.

"Was your friend serious about the midnight thing?"

Kagome giggled a bit. "Let's see." She opened her door and stuck her head inside. "Sango?" When no answer came she walked into a house that smelled like lemon cleaner and candles. "Maybe she wasn't." She grabbed a note off the table.

Miroku called- emergency.

In other words he needs a DD

So we will have to do this another time.

Sango

Ps. I didn't some cleaning for you it was

Stuffy in there, so I lit some candles.

"Stuffy?" Sesshomaru's eye brown raised.

"She cleans when she's board. I'm still trying to figure some things out about her." She shook her head

He nodded. "I will see you in the morning." For a moment Kagome thought about what Sango had said. 'Follow your heart.' Right now her heart was saying she didn't want to be alone.

"So you make me go to a business dinner and all I get is 'See you in the morning?'" He looked at her. "Sango was supposed to keep me company but because you took so long getting me home I didn't even get to say bye."

"So she intended on staying?" He looked down at the pallet.

"That was the plan," She took her shoes off and turned the fireplace on. "but Miroku ruined that."

"Then I guess I have him to thank for this." Grabbing her hips he turned her around and pulled her close to him. Immediately her heart began pounding as his eyes' held her gaze. Her whole body flushed when he kissed her neck and worked his way up to her lips. She could feel him tugging on her zipper but her thoughts were completely different this time. With Inuyasha her dress was like a barrier to protect her, she felt like if it came off she was going to regret it. This time it felt like she was being freed from a strait jacket. He slid his fingers across her back as he removed her dress leaving a trail of goose bumps.

She took her hands from around his neck and worked on his buttons. She took her time and he seemed content to watch her while he ran his hands across her soft skin. He let her do as she pleased, for now. She ran her hands over his chest sliding his shirt off his shoulders. He could tell she liked what she saw by the raise of her eyes brow. He grinned bringing her to him and lacing their fingers he kissed the back of each hand and placed his forehead on hers.

"Kagome?"

"Sesshomaru."

He loved when she said his name. "What are you thinking?"

She looked at the man towering over her and it was like some one dropped a ton of bricks on her. "How blind I've been." Nothing else mattered because he was here. Her heart condition, her father, as long as she had him those things couldn't even affect her mood. And most importantly she knew that if something did happen to her Sota would with out a doubt be safe. Right now there was nothing she wanted more than him. She took hold of his neck and brought him down to her lips.

He granted her wish without hesitation, letting his body react to her whims. Once she got passed his belt he grabbed her hand, "I want this to last." his voice was husky, and yet smooth and deep making a shiver run up Kagome's spine. She let out a bit of a gasp when he pulled her to him, then giggled as he ran his finger from her jaw to her collar bone tickling her.

She took her chance and found the button of his pants and grinned in defiance. "If I'm naked you have to be too." He laid her down on the blanket and finished pulling her dress off. He watched the warm glow of the fire light on her pale skin. "You are truly beautiful." He ran his fingers through her hair then along her body and over her thigh pulling it around him, all while enjoying the taste of her lips. She interrupted his kiss with a small laugh when he ran his finger along the bottom of her stomach just above her panties.

"I love you." She whispered into his ear. He pulled back and looked her in the eyes but she wasn't able to read his expression. At first she feared saying that was a mistake, but he leaned down and kissed her with a new fierceness she didn't see coming.

"And I love you." Everything he did from that point on was for her, to show her he meant what he said. Pleasing her seemed to give him what he wanted, like when she would say his name with the sound of pure ecstasy in her voice. The way she let him do as he pleased and let him know that she enjoyed it. She wasn't afraid so ask for what she wanted, some times she would show him, others she would tell him. She even liked to take charge for a while. This was yet another side of her that he loved.

She cherished every moment they were having. The way he touched her, it was everything and more than what she could have hoped for. He was gentle for the most part, though every once in awhile he would react to something she did and he would get a little rough, but she liked those moments because it made her feel irresistible to him.

They stayed tangled up in each other until neither couldn't take anymore and he was leaning over her exhausted with his face buried in her neck. They remained that way until they caught their breaths and he rolled over and took her in his arms. While they laid there in silence watching the fire there wasn't a doubt in her mind that she had made the right choice.
