Two men pushed through Sesshomaru and into the room, but he was able to grab one and choke slam him before he even entered. Kagome was just as quick to react to the commotion going on in the main room. Rushing out she pulled the belt from around her rob and wrapped it around the other guys neck before he was able to touch Sesshomaru. The man threw himself into a wall slamming Kagome in between.
Sesshomaru gave him a round house kick to the jaw making him fly, letting Kagome slide down the wall. With Sesshomaru distracted the first guy tried another attack. "Sessho-" Kagome couldn't get it out but her pointing was good enough. As Sesshomaru went to deal with him again Kagome took a second shot at her guy, but when she heard the cock of a gun her instincts told her she had to end it quick. With all her strength she gave him one good blow to the nose followed by a heel that she was pretty sure broke some ribs. Once he flew into the wall she took her fingers and dug them into the mans throat pulling on the cartridge of his Adam's apple preventing him from speaking and breathing. "Drop the gun or I swear I will rip out his throat!"
"Okay, okay, take it easy Kagome!" Immediately he dropped the gun and kicked it to Sesshomaru.
"Long time no see Hiten." She looked at the man.
"So you remember?"
"Weather you work for my father or not you are family, I would not forget family."
"That's good to know." He sighed. "Then how about letting go of my brother?"
Sesshomaru wasn't sure what was going on but he decided to trust Kagome when she let go of the man against the wall. It would seem that yet again her father sent people that she knew, and she had that same look of sorrow in her eyes' "Sorry about that Manten."
"Its good to see you again Kagome." He coughed "I see you still like to choke people."
"Still?" Sesshomaru eyed Kagome.
"You could say that was her trade mark." Sesshomaru looked at Kagome who looked like that was a subject she didn't want to touch.
"She could choke some one with air." Manten finally rose to his feet.
"Not that I have to ask," Kagome interrupted "but why are you here?"
The brothers looked at each other before looking back at her. "We were hoping you would come quietly." Hiten sighed. "This," he pointed to the cuts a bruises on his face "was just for show." The room fell silent. "Kagome we are sorry to ask this of you, but your the only one that can stop him."
"Stop him?" Sesshomaru stopped Hiten from getting to close to Kagome. She may trust him but he didn't.
"Most people who work for him aren't there by choice, but we want to get out a live." he focused back on Kagome "and you are our only chance. You are the only one that can get close enough to kill him."
After a few more second of silence she finally spoke, "Well I guess we better get going."
"Do you hear yourself?" For the first time Sesshomaru was beginning to think it was a mistake to bringing her along, she was on a suicide mission.
"What did I tell you before? We are playing his game, you don't find him much less get close to him unless he wants you to. This is the one and only invite we're gonna get, so if we want to save Inuyasha and take care of this problem we have to play his game by his rules."
Sesshomaru still wasn't convinced but her intuition had gotten them this far, and everyone they encountered seemed to think she was their ticket to freedom. He watched her as they got ready to go with these two men, he could tell she was trying to come up with some kind of plan but nothing seemed to satisfy her. It was no wonder her health was the way it was, it was like she was walking around with everyone's crosses on her back- including his.
Once they got into the van Hiten cut to the chase, "I wish I could tell you something that would help, but you know how your father is. But I can give you something." He reached into the console and pulled out two guns, and extra bullets.
She took the guns, "So he will be where we're going?"
"Yup."
"Where are we going?"
"About that." Manten brought out zip ties and bag.
"Are you kidding me?" She sighed
"No." Sesshomaru's only reaction.
"We have to." The brothers shrugged. Inevitably the couple put the bags over their head and Manten secured their wrist with the zip ties. "It would also help if you kinda just lay out in the back."
"Manten!" Kagome growled.
It was a rather uncomfortable and long drive, but when they pulled into a drive way Kagome wished it was a bit longer.
"Well, let's get this over with." The brothers took the two from the back of the van. "Excuse our roughness from here on out." They took the two by the arms and all but dragged them first up some stairs then down and who knows where else in between until they forced them down into some chairs.
"So you managed to get them here." Chills ran over Kagome's body. She hadn't heard that voice in so long, and she was hoping she would never hear it again.
"It's what you wanted right?" Hiten and Manten took the bags off their heads and stepped back.
"Naraku." Sesshomaru growled.
"Well well well, this isn't who I would expect you to be with in your hotel." He leaned down in front of Sesshomaru, "This is the wrong brother." He laughed. "None the less, you did good daughter."
"Get to the point!" Kagome pulled away when he tried to touch her
"All business, you do have a little of me left in you."
"I am nothing like you!" Kagome tried leaving the chair forgetting Hiten had tied her down.
"You still deny it." Naruku laughed. "Haven't you figured it out? You have a gift for this. Which is why I want you back." He motioned to some one in the corner. "You remember Kagewaki right?" She glared at him. "That's right, you thought he was your distant cousin."
"You can save the dramatic story, I already know about your other family." She turned her attention to Kagewaki "What I don't understand is why you go along with him! We grew up together Kagewaki!"
"So you want to know why he won't help you stop me?" Naraku smiled. "Perhaps you should tell her your secret Kagewaki." The boy said nothing, he only looked at the floor. "I guess that's a no." He turned his attention to Sesshomaru, "What about you? Would you like to share?"
"What?" Kagome shot a confused look in Sesshomaru's direction.
"You basstard, don't even go there." He growled.
"So you haven't told her."
"Told me what?" The pit in Kagome's stomach was getting bigger.
Naraku turned Kagome's head by her chin, "You are so blind. I thought I taught you better."
"Get your filthy hands off of her."
"She is my daughter, I will do what I please to her." Naraku laughed at Sesshomaru's efforts to try and get up. "Perhaps you should come back to me Kagome, before you get your heart broken. It would be better for all of us-even young Sota."
"Don't you dare lay a finger on him." She growled.
"He is my flesh and blood, I am not so callous." He mused.
"I'll take a bullet to the head before coming back to you." She growled. While she had Naraku distracted she had been trying to get her hands out of the zip ties. Manten had left them a little loose but not as loose as she thought.
"I see you will need convincing." He reached down to her ankle grabbing the gun. "so you thought you could hide it, nice try." Kagome took in a breath thinking he was going to shoot her. Her heart began pounding as she closed her eyes and waited for the worst. Two gun shots rang through the house but when she didn't feel any pain she opened her eyes' and followed the direction Naraku's gun was pointing and saw Hiten and Menten laying on the floor surrounded by their own blood. "How can you just kill your own family like that?" Kagome cried. "Your not even human!"
"Maybe not, but I intend to get you back one way or another." he laughed. "Now who's next?" He tapped his chin with the gun. "Oh I know," He said pulling back her head by her hair. He traced her jaw bone and ended under her chin stabbing her with the gun, "How about you?"
"Go a head." she growled.
"Don't you dare!" Sesshomaru warned.
"Oh, she'd be so lucky. Like I said, I need her and I will have her. I thought that if I had Inuyasha that would be enough, but maybe if I kill you?" He pointed the gun at Sesshomaru.
"No!" Instant tears streamed down Kagome's face as an image of Sesshomaru life less corps lay in front of her. "Please no." Her voice died down. "I'll do anything, please don't hurt him."
"You have a heart just like your mother. I think that is what I liked about her, she never backed down unless she was sure she could get out of something. That may be why I don't trust you when you say you will do anything."
Kagome looked around the dark room searching for Kagewaki. "Why don't you stop him, do you remember that promise we made when we were young? We promised we would always help each other, be there for one another!"
"You can try that as much as you want but it won't work."
"What have you done to him?"
"It's not what I did dear Kagome, it's what you did."
"Naraku!" Both Kagome and Sesshomaru's fears were confirmed by the sound of a voice coming into the mix.
"Inuyasha!" Sesshomaru and Kagome gasped.
"How else could I stay up on you." Naraku turned to Inuyasha. "You're late."
"Sorry." He turned his attention to Kagome. "You haven't hurt her have you?" He saw the bodies on the floor and the tears in Kagome's eyes'. "You told me you were only after Sesshomaru, why is she tied up?" Kagome held her breath, she was almost free of the zip ties and wasn't sure what would happen if Inuyasha noticed.
"There is something you should know before you do that." Naraku stopped him, buying her more time. "I told you she was picked up at her hotel, but guess who was there with her." Inuyasha looked over at Sesshomaru in the chair sitting next to Kagome. "Perhaps you should ask them what happened between them after you left."
"Kagome, what is he taking about?"
She looked at Sesshomaru who returned her silent stare. She knew if it was him he would tell Inuyasha, but he was leaving the decision to her. "Inuyasha I was going to tell you, but then Sesshomaru told me what this crest meant.." She looked to the floor, she could say anything right now and none of it would matter.
"To be honest, this turned out better than I could have thought." He loved watching her squirm, and she knew it. "What are the odds you end up with Inuyasha after all these years of running away, but you also catch the other brother's eye." He lifted her chin "And then you play them both like fiddles, but you're nothing like me?"
"No, it's different." She sobbed
"Do tell."
"Because I love him!" The words came out before Kagome could even think about the ramifications. She looked up at Inuyasha who had a hurt look in his eye's but at the same time it was filled with hate and anger. So much so that Inuyash took his fist to Sesshomaru's jaw knocking his chair back.
Kagome finally was able to get a hand free from the zip tie and ran to Sesshomaru. Inuyash raised his fist ready to hit him again but Kagome grabbed his wrist yelling for him to stop. He ripped his wrist from Kagome's grip and continued his relentless attack on his brother. Kagome took the extra gun she kept hidden and pointed it at Inuyasha. "Inuyasha if you don't stop, I'm will kill you!" He look at Kagome with the most hurt look she had ever seen. "Please," She pleaded "don't make me do this. This is what he wants." She was shaking so bad she couldn't hold the gun straight.
"I have a better idea," Naraku spoke up. "Why don't you kill Sesshomaru, he deserves it after all the pain he caused you."
"You don't know what you're talking about." She whispered "He loves me."
"You mean like Bankostu did?" Naraku tsked again.
"Shut up!" Kagome cut Sesshomaru free while keeping her gun at Inuyasha.
"Maybe we should tell Sesshomaru's secret. Yes, that will be fun." Naraku watched Sesshomaru glare at him. "I'll start it for you. After Tayisho let Sesshomaru's mother go and she was tragically killed in a shooting, Sesshomaru decided he wanted to stick his nose where it didn't belong and found out who really killed his mother." He had the most disgusting smile on his face Kagome had ever seen. "How does that saying go- an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth?"
