The rest of the weekend passed in a daze. At least half of it was spent on homework, and the rest was spent either practicing something or the other. Way too quickly, Monday arrived.

"*crunch* Teto!" I heard a loud knock on my door.

"Shut up Ted. I can't hear you with waffles in your mouth." Pulling my covers over my head, I curled up in a ball.

"I know you want waffles too." He fit his words between chews, but made sure they were clear enough for me to understand, "There's a few more right here, but you know, I can eat them if you…"

"Ah. You drive a hard bargain. Gimme a sec." Rolling out of bed, I dragged my feet to my closet and scanned my outfits, "Should I wear pants?"

"Of course! What's with you and pants anyway?"

"I dunno." I yawned, "I'll just wear shorts. It's hot outside anywho."

"I don't care. Wear what you wish."

I threw on a loose, lacey, white tank and a pair of bright sunny shorts. After splashing my face with a few handfuls of water, I delicately put my hair up into a high ponytail, and allowed the hair to fall into my signature ringlets.

"What's taking you so long!?" He moaned, "The waffles, they smell, so good."

"HOLD IT!" I swung the door open to point my accusing index finger in his face, "Gimme the waffles."

"Here. Geez." Adjusting his collar, he leaned back against the hall, "How do I look?"

"You look fine." I shifted my weight to my toes to get a better look, "Your hair is a bit messy though. Why don't you cut it?"

"I," Extending his thumb, he smoothed out his eyebrow, "think my hair is fine the way it is."

"You were the one who asked." I grabbed my white, polka dot backpack, and swiped the two waffled out of Ted's hand, "Now take me to school. I don't want to be late."

"Calm down, I won't be driving you to school today."

"You aren't? Then how am I supposed to get there? I can't be late…That'll ruin my perfect…"

He placed his hands on my shoulders to steady my breaths, "I thought I told you to calm down, sis. My bro, Piko, borrowed the car, and kindof never gave it back." He shrugged, "I've been trying to get a hold of him, but no luck. For all I know, he may be all the way in Mexico by now."

"Your "bro"!? And you waited until now to tell me?" I felt my heart rate accelerate, "I trusted you!"

"It's not a big deal! Just find someone else to drive you! I can walk to work no problem."

"You idiot! You work from home!"

"Guilty as charged."

"No no no!"

"Why can't you get that Yuma kid to do it? Isn't he your boyfriend and junk?"

"He's probably left by-. Oh wait. It's Yuma, he's always late."

Ted smirked, "See, problem solved." With a snap of his fingers, he strutted into his room.

I don't want to be alone in a truck with Yuma again…Bad things happen in his truck. BAD THINGS.

"Was that really that bad?" A familiar voice sounded out of nowhere. I looked down to see that I had instinctively already dialed Yuma's number.

"Did I say that aloud?"

"Why, yes you did. Why did you call me anyway?" He strayed away from the topic, which I was thankful for."

"Yeah, can you pick me up on your way to school."

"Sure no problemo. Why can't Ted do it?"

"You're asking an awful lot of questions."

"I'm a curious person."

"Just pick me up soon k?"

"Alright, I'm already-"

I hung up.

Once again, I heard a knock on my door, "TETO!"

"Oh Yuma." He looked like he was out of breath.

"If you had just listened to my entire sentence, you would have known that I was already by your house."

"Really? Huh."

"Just get in the car."

I climbed in and draped my backpack strap over the seat. Yuma plopped in right beside me.

"You never answered my question."

"Which one? You ask a lot."

He snorted, ""Was it really that bad?" That one."

"Yeah, it was terrible." I looked down at my knees, watching the sunlight disappear and reappear with every passing telephone pole.

"You're a terrible liar."

"And you're very good at making things uncomfortable." I leaned towards the window, my cheek a few inches from the glass.

"True that." He nodded, "If that was an Olympic Sport, I'd bring home the gold."

"You're terrible at conversation."

He chuckled softly, "Well, I guess everyone is terrible at something. You're good at almost everything, except lying."

"And you're bad at everything except making things awkward!" I laughed.

"Hey, it's not awkward anymore is it?"

Resting against the door, my chin fell into my palm, "Nah. Not really. I like you like this."

"Like what."

"As a stupid, yet loveable…"

"Yes?" He raised one eyebrow.

"Person." I decided.

"Phew" He exhaled, "I thought you were about to say friend for a second there."

"#2 on the list of what Yuma's terrible at. Concealing them emotions."

"We're almost at school, and nothing's happened in my favor yet." He took one hand off the wheel and placed his forefinger and thumbs about a centimeter apart, "I was this close to getting friend-zoned." Quickly replacing the hand on the wheel, he softened his voice, "Just tell me one thing though."

"Hmm?"

"You do like me more than Kaito, right?"

"Hmm."

"Are you gonna use your language skills or…?"

"I don't know."

Yuma's head collapsed on the headrest, "Are you serious? What does he have that I don't?"

"Once again, I do not know."

"Teto..." His voice trailed off, then suddenly returned in full-force, "DAMN! Why is your indecisiveness cute too!"

I tapped his shoulder, "If you're done with your little self-conflict, we're at school."

"And I didn't even get to have a moment." He muttered under his breath.

"What was that?"

"Forget it. I have an odd mind."

"Like I didn't know that already."
