T.T I'm crying waterfalls! I can't believe no one reviewed... well, I still posted the next chapter. Actually, I had it done awhile before but it got deleted... but I loved the plot I wrote so much for this chapter I, instead of writing a whole new direction, rewrote the entire thing. It doesn't feel as fresh as I wanted to, but I still think it's pretty good. Please give it a read and enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don't own Shugo Chara.

'Precious Secrets And Beautiful Liars' by TheLingeringWolf = most of the story inspiration (my fanfic Anything But This was basically a rip-off off that)

'Got to be perfect Not' by bleachlover1999 = Rima's disguise

And it also is now highly influenced by Durarara!

Normal POV

" Seika is a pretty polished school" a guy whistled soon after he said those words. Kukai was talking to one of his friends.

" Yeah, people say I'm the remains of the school before this" another person replied.

" ...?"

" You know Seika used to be called Seiyo, right?" the person talking had a girly voice.

" Yeah" Kukai said, feeling bored. He hoped that whatever his friend wanted to say wasn't something he already knew.

" Do you know why it changed?" the girl talking to him questioned.

" New faculty, right?" Kukai replied.

" That's just the official reason"

" Then what?... Amu?"

About an hour earlier, Kukai had faked a headache after the Japanese test.

His real reason was that he had enough of school that day, that he just wanted to relax.

Besides, school was almost over. Kukai had always thought it was a crime not to enjoy himself on such a perfectly sunny day.

He happened to bump into Amu, the pink haired girl, on the rooftop of the school.

It was amazing enough that she had come to school that day.

" Remember Ikuto?" Amu said, stating the question more than asking.

" Yeah?" Kukai raised his eyebrow. If Ikuto was involved, Kukai was sure that what Amu had to say was worth his time.

" He went here before Seiyo got turned into Seika."

" I've only seen him when he helps me out...with stuff" Kukai told Amu, implying that he didn't know Ikuto that well.

Amu sighed and explained what she was trying to say a bit further.

" Ikuto is a good fighter, right?"

" Uh, I don't think his level is considered just good"

" He learned how to right here" Amu continued, ignoring Kukai's comment.

" You mean when this school was still called Seiyo? Kuka felt a bit stupid asking, but before he knew it, the question was asked and the obvious answer was said.

" Yeah, this place used to be filled with delinquents"

" Let me guess what happens next" Kukai said, preventing Amu from explaining further. He hoped to redeem himself with an intelligent question.

" Go ahead" Amu flicked her hair.

" They got rid of all the delinquents, remodeled the school and reopened it like a newly established school"

" Bingo"

" I can't believe this is my last year here at Seika Middle and I didn't know that."

" The only reason you didn't know was because you didn't think anything interesting would come out of finding out"

" Hey, you're a delinquent, right?" Kukai asked, not bothering to reply to Amu's statement.

"I'm not a genuine delinquent I don't cause any trouble and still get good grades. Not going to classes actually isn't considered being a delinquent, I'm just the least well behaved in the school." Amu paused," Well, least well behaved in the school after you"

" Right," Kukai said slightly uncomfortably, Amu was being a little snarky that day," You have one weird facade" getting back to his pace.

" It just happens to be a more strong and unique facade than most"

" Yeah, most facades help people blend in"

" Like Nagihiko's"

" I guess, back when he was in his other form. The one he has now is less blending. It's more of a perfect, nice princely guy kind of facade."

" And you had fun messing around with that"

" Well, there wasn't much to play around with, he understands the human mind too much"

" Blame his mom" Amu scoffed.

" Hey, at least you're not being dense right now."

" I'm never dense."

Kukai smirked, " Sure, whatever you say."

He stared off into the distance. The roof of the school was really nice when there wasn't any others on it.

" You should come to class tomorrow"

" Don't want to, doesn't matter, I go to a different class from you anyway"

" But you haven't seen the transfer student"

" We have one?"

" Yeah, she threw a desk at me"

Amu laughed at Kukai's statement, wondering if he was joking.

" Sounds like she's fun, maybe I'll come"

\

Amu wasn't messed up. Just unapproachable, her grandparents death hit her at the wrong time.

It got her thinking, her thoughtful face wasn't all that friendly. She was socially awkward to begin with. And she never bothered with trying to make friends after that long period of thoughtfulness.

She was already friends with Nagihiko and Kukai, they met in elementary school. Amu still had good grades, so the school didn't kick her out for her daily absences. No teacher had ever questioned her before.

Seika Academy was a hard school but they weren't well known. Nor was it usually the first choice middle school to go to. So they were happy to have someone like Amu who could bring their grade average up, even if she didn't attend classes.

Seika was aiming to be a well known prestigious school.

And it was slowly becoming the school it was aiming to be.

But until Seika Academy has reached that goal as a well known school, people like Amu were a normalcy.

Nagihiko POV

I found myself glued to my seat slightly turned around, staring at Rima. If I looked closely I could see the heavenly honey brown eyes that were slightly obscured by her huge glasses. Makeup didn't tint the natural glow of her beauty.

When I managed to tear my sight elsewhere, I noticed that the boys in the class seemed more awake. And that the girls that usually clustered around me were groaning.

" Okay! Physical Education is starting! Everyone is dismissed to get changed!" the teacher said with an overly excited tone.

Like the energy of the teacher's voice, all the boys in the class, except the nerdy ones, were excited. They practically ran out of the room. I got up and gracefully followed, easily keeping up with their quick pace.

Still, before I reached the door, Kukai came running in.

" Sorry teacher! I spent too long in the nurse's office" he grinned, slightly sheepishly. Then he headed out, full speed ahead to the changing rooms. I quicken my pace and quickly reached beside him.

He was humming.

" In a better mood than usual?" I asked.

" Yeah, Amu's coming to class"

" Really? How did you convince her to come?" I looked at him, slightly astonished " She hates the sight of people sometimes" I said.

" The transfer student"

" ...?"

" I told Amu about the transfer student and she was interested"

I sighed at his vague explanation. I hurried to the locker room and soon we were playing a game soccer.

A game where one team was made up of all the sporty guys and actually useful girls in the class. And the other team was the wimpier part of the class, plus Kukai and I.

Rima stood at the corner of the field, not doing anything, even as the game started.

Amu was nowhere in sight.

Kukai passed the ball to me.

As I danced around a defender on the other team, I pondered on what to do with the ball. I juggled it with my knees.

I came up with many possibilities, many endings with the ball in the goal, but strangely, my mind wandered elsewhere.

I had an odd urge to kick the ball in a certain direction. When I turned my head in that direction, I noticed who was standing there, almost exactly at the spot where I wanted to kick it.

I wanted to kick the ball away from the goal, back to the other side of the field. The direction I wanted to kick the ball to was the direction Mashiro Rima was standing. She stood there unmoving, as if nothing ever even had the chance to touch her. Why I wanted to kick the ball towards her, I did not know. I stalled kicking the ball into the goal to think a little more, taking the detour to the goal.

Then I realized why I wanted to kick the ball to Rima.

I wanted to see her.

I wanted to knock off her glasses and get a better look at her eyes. At the right angle, I could knocked off her frumpy beanie too.

I inwardly laughed, consciously deciding not to kick the ball towards her. That was anything but princely, it was rude and uncivil. Who in the right mind would purposely kick someone with a soccer ball, I thought bitterly. The thoughts in my head made me almost laugh aloud.

I was right in front of the goal. No one was blocking my way, it was an open path.

It was a path so straight and perfect, that nothing would go wrong if I took it.

A glowing path many would give so much to have in front of them.

But for some reason, I could not take that that path. That path of opportunity. That path for a perfect life, to be set in stone. To be followed for the rest of my life.

Somewhere, deep inside, I refused to follow the rules that were set in front of me. Somewhere, my heart ached, I wanted to do whatever I wanted to.

I tripped during the moment I readied to kick into the goal. My ankle twisted in a slightly weird way and I was on the ground.

The ball went flying in a direction that almost could be said to be luck.

It went flying to the direction I wanted it to.

It went flying straight to Rima, who was still standing there, at the corner of the soccer field, still doing nothing.

Normal POV

The ball went flying. Some people noticed the ball heading Rima's way but didn't try to stop it, others didn't see the ball at the all.

Most were preoccupied looking at Nagihiko, wondering if he was okay from his fall.

Nagihiko was the school prince after all. He was also the basketball ace who had a game in a week.

The class was occupied with Nagihiko. Kukai, who was at the opposite edge of field form Rima saw it all. The ball was heading towards Rima in a perfect pace and in a perfect angle. An angle that would cleanly knock off her glasses and dislocate her beanie. But Kukai was too far away to reach it, too far away to stop it. But he had seen it happen, and he had known Nagihiko long enough to know that Nagihiko, in some way, had deliberately kick the ball in Rima's direction.

Rima saw the ball heading her way, even if she were fully alert, the ball was moving too fast for her reflexes to react.

Rima only saw the ball for only a second.

A figure blocked her view of the ball the moment she saw it.

Nagihiko felt himself become disappointed as the ball was blocked, he had really wanted to see the Rima without the glasses or beanie, still, smiled a little at the figure.

The figure blocking Rima's view was taller than her, like most people were, but this figure had pink hair.

" Yo" the figure said to Rima, half turned around to face Rima, soccer ball in her hands.

The figure was Amu.

" I'm Hinamori Amu, what your name? Transfer student, right?"

" Yeah...I'm..Rima"

" Nice to meet you, Rima" Amu said.

While Rima and Amu were having a small exchange Kukai ran over to Nagihiko, knowing that the ball was blocked, and helped Nagihiko get up in a way that made Nagihiko look badly.

But Nagihiko actually was unscathed from the fall.

" Nagi, are you okay?" Kukai asked.

" Well..." Nagihiko trailed off, one arm slung over Kukai and eyes wincing dramatically.

" The game next week? Think you can make it?" Kukai questioned. His eyes were unfocused as he ran calculations in his head. Kukai thought Nagihiko either wanted the ball to hit Rima or Nagihiko wanted to fake being injured for awhile and decided to kick the ball in the direction Rima was standing. Kukai's wondering had brought an opportunity to Nagihiko. He had already pushed the urge to kick the ball to Rima of of his head and was thinking with a perfectly clear head. With Kukai's question, Nagihiko had an opportunity to not play in the basketball game next week.

He had the perfect opportunity to fake an serious injury. He knew, he had to, in order to be able to continues his life without any complications but still being able to follow his mother's orders.

Nagihiko would be performing at the recital next week.

Not at the basketball game.

" It hurts badly, I don't think I can play next week" Nagihiko told Kukai.

The was a collective gasp throughout the class. The basketball team's ace would not able able to play in next week's game. The basketball ace of three years.

With , Nagihiko's response, Kukai concluded that Nagihiko fell to injure himself, not to kick the ball in a certain direction.

But Kukai didn't know how Rima looked without her beanie and glasses. As Kukai helped Nagihiko get to the nurse's office Rima went off the soccer field, to the side and sat on the grass.

Soon, everyone started to notice Amu

Today was an eventful day to this certain class. First, they saw basketball team's ace get injured, then they witnessed the school's only girl delinquent show herself during school hours.

But to Rima, she didn't think that day as all that special. Maybe it was because it was only her second day at school and she didn't have any friends yet.

Half of Rima's mind was occupied with wondering if her parents were home.

The other half was thinking of Nagihiko, with a suspicious mindset.

To Rima, the ball had arced it way to her almost too perfectly. In a way it couldn't have been an accident. She believed that Nagihiko had wanted to hit her on purpose, that he controlled the ball so it would hit her head in an angle that would knock off her glasses. She believed that the ball came to her because of some perfect accident. But she had no proof that Nagihiko wanted that way, only a burning suspicion.

Her mind wandered as the pink haired girl who saved her from the soccer ball waved her a goodbye, before the pink hair disappeared from sight. Slowly, Rima's mind thought of other things such as making a point to remember the pink haired girl's name.

But because Rima had no proof and only allowed the thoughts about the soccer to last for only a short while, she was clueless about something that would have changed everything about how she would have spent the rest of her day, how she would have spent the rest of her life.

She was clueless how right she was.

I am clueless about what happens next even more so than Rima. The last time that happened I left fanfiction for a year. Any ideas? I'll gladly use any you give to me. I've been stretching out the point before they become friends too long. Maybe I'll have something actually happen next chapter...Should I introduce the rest of the gang? Please tell me your thoughts!
