Happy one year since the first chapter was posted! Well, that just shows how slow and lazy I am but... It's something to celebrate, despite the fact that I am 5 days late. Anyway, I worked hard on this chapter and really FORCED myself to write this chapter for the anniversary. I mean, I had a two month hiatus so I could concentrate on school work. T~T Well, now I'm taking summer school...ENOUGH EXCUSES. I will, since summer started, I'll update more. Bear with me PLEASE. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own Shugo Chara.
'Precious Secrets And Beautiful Liars' by TheLingeringWolf = most of the story inspiration (my fanfic Anything But This was basically a rip-off off that)
'Got to be perfect Not' by bleachlover1999 = Rima's disguise
And it also is now highly influenced by Durarara!

Normal POV
There was beginning to be a haze in the nurse's office. The orange-yellow light shone through the window past the open curtains. Yet there was no one inside the nurse's office. It's last visitors were the two boys.
On the table there sat an opened box that previously held a reusable fabric ankle cast.
It was beautiful, everything placed almost like a scene out of a movie. But outside, within the view of the nurse's office, Nagihiko and Kukai were running.
They were both running home. Nagihiko to get to dance practice and Kukai needing to do errands to satisfy his older siblings. When they ran home they passed by a group of girls who immediately giggled when they passed by. Rima was sitting on the grass nearby, seemingly invisible, refusing to go home.
" Um...Nagihiko!" a girl from the pack called. There was more giggling as they pushed each other around. Nagihiko turned around and stopped, being the gentleman he was. Rima was in his sight of view but at that moment, he did not notice her.
Kukai also stopped, but he did not bother turning around until Nagihiko replied.
" Hello, is there something you need me for?" Nagihiko asked the girls, not sure which one of them had spoken to him.
A girl broke free from the group and stepped forward. She didn't seem to be the one who had called Nagihiko in the first place but that didn't matter. Kukai squatted down and rested his arm on his knee.
Kukai sighed, wondering how long this would take but was slightly interested. At the very least, he was interested enough to not ditch Nagihiko and head home alone.
" Umm... Are you okay?T-the ball?" The girl started, trying to start light conversation.
" Huh? Yeah, Thanks for the concern" Nagihiko said, saving the girl the trouble of trying to find a way to bring up the incident during physical education earlier that day.
" But... should you be running around?" the girl continued.
" I'm okay, I have a cast on."
" O-oh, good" The girl's expression became complicated as she tried to get the words out of her mouth.
This was the perfect timing for her to ask she and her group wanted to know.
Another girl in the group smiled excitedly and Kukai took notice in her as the girl took a huge lollipop out of her bag and started licking it.
The girl in front of Nagihiko began to speak.
" Do...do you have a girlfriend?" she asked.
" A what?" Nagihiko's breath caught. That question barely missed first place on his list of annoying questions.
" Well, people were saying that the girl that you were with this morning was your girlfriend" The girl explained.
Nagihiko tried his best not to look at her strangely. He wondered if he had walked to school with a girl that morning.
" Oh, Mashiro Rima" Nagihiko mumbled, realizing. In Nagihiko's mind, that morning did not count as walking with someone, it counted as two people heading the same direction while the other tried to strike up a conversation.
Rima, who was sitting nearby, ears perked up at the almost inaudible mention of her name.
That was when Nagihiko noticed her petite body sitting there on the grass.
Nagihiko POV
I told myself to hurry.
To hurry and finish up the conversation. Hurry up and and go home. Hurry up and start dance rehearsal.
Hurry up and get a back to the normal life I was used to.
" There must be some kind of mistake" I started giving a polite smile. " I have no girlfriend, but I did in fact walk to school with a," I paused to find the right word, " friend... the girl was a friend"
The word friend felt weird. I had used it so lightly throughout my life. To me, a friend was simply someone I hung around and got along with. I never understood what people meant when they said things like 'true friends.'
If I were to have a close friend, then it would most likely be Kukai.
I never understood what exactly were friends were. I bent and twisted that definition to whatever seemed convenient.
Rima was here. My eye twitched at the sight of her. I wondered if I should talk with her later, apologise for the ball. I wondered if I should do anything at all.
Most of all, I wondered why I cared.
Normal POV
Nagihiko left first, saying a simple goodbye to the group of girls. Kukai left second, simply following Nagihiko. Then the girls wandered elsewhere, wanting to spend the rest of their day before they needed to head home hanging out.
Rima was left there. All alone. If the school's janitor locked up the school, he wouldn't have even noticed the petite girl sitting on the grass.
She was still. Ever so still like a rock.
\
The door to his room remained closed for the past few hours. It was weird to Nagihiko. Weird not being bothered for such a long period of time.
The silence was almost killing him. But it was said that silence helps a person understand themselves more. So, as he was laying on his bed, he unconsciously decided his next moves were going to be based on just that.
His consciousness.
With a burst of energy that he didn't know how he attained, he got up from the bed and stood near the middle of his spacious room.
His mouth began to form words.
Before he realized what he was saying he said the following words, " I, Nagihiko Fujisaki, am interested in Mashiro Rima."
He fell back onto his bed. He finally understood what was going on.
The girl intrigued him to no end.
In the tip of his mind, he thought of something nearly unrelated to what he had spoken aloud before.
I hope I don't start talking out loud to myself again anytime soon.
Kukai POV
Snap. The sound of the branch gave my position away.
" What are you doing here?" A small, clear voice asked in an emotionless manner. The lack of emotion in her voice seemed scarier then a voice dripping with venom.
She didn't even glance in my direction.
" Now, now, is that how you treat a boy you threw a desk at?"
" Oh, sorry," The girl looked at me with a look that seemed apologetic. I couldn't tell with her huge goggle-like glasses.
" Don't worry about it Rima, that was two days ago, should I call it a 'fateful monday'?"
Rima scoffed.
" There was nothing fateful about me throwing a desk at you," Rima thought for a moment ," but I do think I did that because you're annoying"
"Hey!"
" So, why are you here? Did you forget something in class?" Rima continued.
" Yeah, just homework, you want a walk home?"
" No thanks, with any luck, people will talk about it like they did with Nagihiko," she paused, "See ya." She headed out of the school gates.
"You know, it would be nice if we could be friends"
" I don't need friends"
I looked at her disappearing figure. Leisurely thinking that it was a bit funny that she said all that without a single crack of a smile or emotion.
Okay, I thought that it was plain weird.
\
The next thing I knew that happened was that I went to the supermarket to run errands for my older brothers.
The next thing I saw was Amu, hanging around, reading a magazine.
The next thing I realized was a group of thugs I vaguely remembered from a few days earlier.
" Yo! Amu!" Immediately, her eyes flited to me, suspicious.
" Oh, it just you Kukai"
" What a nice greeting" I said sarcastically.
" You're welcome. Anyway, help me, I think those guys outside want to follow me to Ikuto"
" Sooo you're giving me permission to beat them up?"
" Yeah, basically."
So the next thing that happened after that was I beat them up and dumped them in the nearby ally.
I didn't realize how it happened or that I did it until I started walking away from them.
" Y-you won't get away with this!" one of the thugs yelled. I sighed, ignoring them.
I sighed because it was all to like me to forget things once I get caught up in the moment.
It was fun beating them up, but the excitement died as soon as I finished.
With the scratches and a bleeding hand, I deduced it wasn't safe to head back into the supermarket to buy the things my brothers wanted.
Hence, I got yelled at a lot when I went home.
So when I plopped into my bed, I concluded that my day had been very ordinary.
Well, at least my kind of ordinary.
\
" Well, hello"
" Hey to you too"
In front of the middle school entrance ceremony stood two people, looking at each other face to face.
\
They met again.
"So, I guess we're in the same class"
" It seems so"
\
" We've never been properly introduced"
" I guess not, it's a little weird how every time we get assigned projects, we're working together," commenting while writing things down on a sheet of paper.
" Weird or not, it still happened"
" Hey, I'm not saying it's bad or anything. I'm Souma Kukai, I like soccer, wait you already knew that."
" I am Fujisaki Nadeshiko, I do traditional dancing"
\
" Hey, hey Nadeshiko, talking to the soccer addict?" a pink haired girl jumped into their conversation."
" Hey!"
" But you are one," The pink haired girl whined.
" Amu, please refrain from teasing Kukai." Nadeshiko said.
" Aww" she said.
" Amu, it that your name?"
" Hinamori Amu"
" Let's be friends"
" Huh?" Amu and Nadeshiko questioned.
" The three of us, let's be friends"
" Oh my god, how can you be so corny!" Amu laughed. Nadeshiko looked like she was going to burst out laughing too.
\
That was how it all started.
Then again, I think from the moment we met, Nagihiko and I wanted to become friends.
\
" Do you remember the soccer game?" I asked Nadeshiko.
" Y-yeah, that was fun"
" I would ask for a rematch but basketball is better for one-on-one"
" So?"
" Wanna play?"
" Sure, hold on let me get changed"
\
"Whew, that was fun"
" Y-yeah" Nadeshiko replied, out of breath.
" You know, you could pass for a guy with your hood up like that"
