The minute zoey and mike entered the big cart for the ferris wheel and the door closed behind them, there seemed to be a big change in atmosphere. It was unsettling and very nerve racking. Zoey didn't notice, mike was both happy that she wasn't feeling what he was but also paranoid that because of this, something could happen to either him or zoey. He tried to shove those thoughts out of his head.

"Mike, is something wrong? You've been looking uneasy ever since we spoke with that odd woman." Mike couldn't answer as he looked down and did his best to feel calm and hopefully not worry zoey again. He didn't want to drag her into this, whatever 'this' might be. The cart was nowhere even near the halfway point on the ride, it was going to feel much longer than he'd hoped. His silence wasn't helping his cause on not making zoey concerned, it did the opposite. Though zoey at least knew that talking wouldn't get very far as she just looked out the window and put on a smile so mike wouldn't feel the need to do anything. Just then, out of nowhere, when he looked into the window, he could've sworn that he saw bue right beside zoey through the reflection. Mike nearly screamed but then he just shook his head a bit and saw everything was fine. If he wasn't gonna tell his mom, he certainly wasn't gonna tell zoey. No matter how close they were, he didn't want to drag anyone down with him.

I can handle this on my own. He thought hopefully though deep down he knew full well he couldn't. Then soon after, zoey scooted closer to mike until she took his arm and wrapped hers around it then rested her head on his shoulders. Mike blushed much more than zoey despite that her blushing would show much more. She was obviously planning on lighting the mood, zoey looked up at mike and saw him smiling, it was small but only because it appeared he was clearly trying to hold it back. Zoey held back a flattered giggle but then she sees mike dosing off, she's not offended by it, some girls would think he's just bored with them with that body language.

I wonder what's making him sleepy…. She pondered, mike had stayed up late the night before with a lot of things on his mind. After mike fell asleep he found him still in the exact same cart on the wheel, in his own body and the cart moved perfectly along, he started to wonder if he was really awake or not. But then the windows...a black and purple fog surrounded them until you couldn't see out no matter how much you squinted your eyes. The one thing that set this apart from reality was that Zoey was nowhere to be seen, he was completely alone. This was the thing that gave him the blunt indication that this dream wouldn't be very happy. He's never been truly alone before since his personalities occupied the rest of his mind, he could talk to them whenever he pleased with just a little focus and some quiet. But at the moment, there was not a single noise to be heard and he couldn't hear any of their voices, not even the slightest sense of a presence anywhere. All of a sudden, mike heard a voice, he thought it was manitoba at first coming to give him some more bad news but the voice being heard sounded nothing like any of his personalities. When he recognized it...his eyes bulged, his face went deathly pale as he began to sweat and shake violently. Mike fell to his knees holding his head tightly as it became louder then footsteps sounded like they were coming towards him and they were noisy and clunky. When he looked up, knowing that whoever was in front of him was the source of the voice, his face was of pure terror.

"It's good to see you again, michael…". Before mike had any time to react, he got a swift knock to the face with a hard belt. It left a large bruise, though it didn't make sense that he could feel pain in a dream but he didn't have time to question it.

"H-how...how did you-...what do you want from me?" Mike asked with a glare.

"Is that any way to speak to your dear ol' dad?" Mike's right eye started twitching with fury. The boy tried to stand his ground and look intimidating but his father wasn't falling for it.

"I can see you shaking, come sit." His father sat down then picked up mike as he struggled and kicked and set him down on his left knee. Mike glared menacingly at his father.

"Ooooo...that's a scary face! Now then, since I've got you here, why don't I give you some interesting news…".

~Back at Mike's house~

Mike's mom had finally calmed her nerves just as she walked out of her bedroom, having an ominous feeling and saw the postal truck just leave. She decided to collect the mail while her son was having fun at the fair. After leaving the house, getting the mail and bringing it back, she went through the pile carefully.

"Bill, bill, bill, magazine, another magazine and-...what's this?" There was an odd orange packet that stuck out from the rest of her piles, opening it up and reading it, her face went pale as she became sick to her stomach.

"No…"
