Chapter 15

Percy dragged Nico to the dungeon room. The cells where like a medieval prison, accept more advanced. Instead of normal metal bars, they were made of celestial bronze and imperial gold. The floor was concrete to prevent prisoners from digging their way out.

Percy threw open one of the prison doors and pushed Nico in. Percy grabbed Nico's sword, before shutting the door and locking it closed.

Nico looked around. Shadows, shadows everywhere. He let a small grin play on his face as Percy turned around.

While Percy wasn't looking, Nico charged at the wall. He planned to shadow travel to the nearest shadow behind Percy, grab his sword, then shadow travel out of here. It was a good enough plan, if he could shadow travel.

Instead Nico charged straight into the wall, concrete and all. Percy turned around at the sound of a loud thud, and saw Nico laying on the ground with his face in his hands, groaning in pain.

Percy couldn't help but laugh. "How stupid do you think we are?"

Nico glared at Percy from his spot on the floor.

"The cell's laced with Magic. You can't use your powers in here." Percy said. He started walking away from the cell, before pausing as if he was reconsidering being a traitor.

Nico glared at the back of Percy's head. "You're supposed to be our friend. Our family. You were our leader!" Nico yelled.

The sound echoed off the halls, before dying out and leaving the cell silent, besides the heavy breathing of Nico.

Percy turned towards Nico, and just stood there studying him. His green eyes doing the job of an Athena spawn. Calculating, judging, and analyzing the enemy in every way possible.

Nico shifted under his heavy gaze, before screaming once more, "Say something you sick and twisted bastard! Just say something already!"

Percy took a few steps forward until he was standing right in front of the bars, with Nico on the direct other side.

Green meeting Black, Black meeting Green.

"You're supposed to be there for me. Like a cousin should- No, like my big brother." Nico whispered.

Percy stayed silent, his eyes darting to the side, unable to meet Nico's gaze.

Nico decided to push him farther. "You promised. Not only me, but you promised Bianca. My sister, my dead sister. You promised her you'd look after me."

Percy brought his gaze back to Nico's and Nico was surprised by what he saw. The once, happy and carefree sea-green eyes were now broken with grief and clouded by tears.

Percy didn't say a word. He just took a step back before setting down Nico's sword against the wall by the cell.

Nico was almost sure it was within distance reach. He took a step forward but stopped at the slightest shake of Percy's head.

Nico understood though. It was a clear message. Not yet.

Nico nodded, and walked to the back of the cell, where a dusty metal bed was held by chains. He sat down on it, and leaned back, watching Percy from the shadows.

Percy stood there watching Nico as he made his way to the metal bed hanging on the wall. He watched as he sat down, and laid back, covered in shadows. Percy stood there for a few seconds longer before turning and walking out of the dungeon room.

Before he left the cells, he whispered two words, "I'm sorry."
