"This is crazy!" exclaimed Jessica Grant. "My sister…No No…this does not make any sense." The older Grant sister ran her fingers through her long light strawberry blonde hair. "She would not do this." She said turning to the Professor as they stood in the living room of Ginger's home. "Just the other day she told me how much she couldn't wait for Saturday to arrive! How she was going to look so beautiful…I don't understand it."

"I know." The Professor said. "It doesn't make sense to me either which is why I am convinced that Eva Grubb is behind this whole thing. It is the only logical explanation."

Jessica crossed her arms. "I agree. Ginger told me about how she tried to take her place on the island and was planning on leaving her stranded there. And of course her arriving in Hollywood and trying to pass herself off as my sister…like no one would see through that. And her trying to get Ginger to apologize to her. No I think you are right, Eva is most definitely behind this."

Mary Ann was sitting on the sofa looking at a picture of her movie star friend and the Professor. She couldn't help but smile at how happy Ginger looked in the photo. Her arms around her beloved Professor, head resting against him, the look of pure happiness, Ginger would never up and leave the Professor. She just would not. She sighed and put the photo back on the table behind her. "You don't thinks she would…do anything…" The farm girl gulped.

"She better not dream of it." Roy stated sternly. "She will pay dearly."

Joan Grant stared out the window in shock. How could anyone do this? How could one take her little girl away! Yes she wasn't so little anymore, she was a grown woman but still, she had lost her daughter for four long years, she didn't want to go through that a second time. Pierce Grant stood beside his wife placing his arm around her shoulders. He too could not believe this was happening. They just got their darling Ginger back after thinking she was lost to them forever. While he did adore both of his daughters, he tended to favor his younger daughter. Jessica was aware of this and she held no grudge towards him as she too adored her little sister. How could anyone not love that redhead?

Gilligan was sitting beside Mary Ann on the sofa spoke up. "You think she could be behind that article in the paper?" He asked aloud.

The Skipper, who was resting on a matching white chair, looked at his little buddy. "What do you mean? You think that Eva had that story planted?"

"It's possible." Gilligan replied. "Don't you think so Professor?"

The academic pondered this. He had been preoccupied with soothing his beautiful Ginger to bother with wondering who was behind the article to begin with. It never occurred to him to think... "Gilligan perhaps you are right. It is possible that Eva could be the one who is planting rumors and gossip about Ginger. But how can we prove it?"

Joan turned to face the group. "Does it matter? What does that have to do with finding my daughter!" She asked angerly with tears in her eyes.

"Mom." Jessica said hurrying over to comfort her. "We are going to find Ginger I swear we will. I think however Gilligan is on to something. I think that we do need to consider that Eva was the one behind all the vicious rumors swirling around. If we can prove that, then it may lead us to Ginger's whereabouts."

Joan sniffed. "I just want my baby back." She said.

The Professor studied his future mother in law. He could see where Ginger got her beauty from. Joan was a stunning woman with the same silky red hair as her daughter, same green eyes. She also had the same caring heart as her daughter. Roy admired her very much and thought her a great lady. He hated seeing her like this. "We are going to find her." He stated. "Ginger and I will be married. Nothing is going to prevent it."

"You are right." The older woman said with a small smile. "I know how much you love her. I know how much she loves you. Ginger wouldn't miss marrying you for anything."

Pierce nodded. "She wouldn't. Not a chance. And we are going to make sure she doesn't. We need to concentrate on how we are going to find her."

Mr. Howell, who was standing by the fireplace in deep thought, turned to the group. "I think what we need to do is start with Mr. Ted Anderson. We need to find out what source he used for his story."

"But how?" asked Mrs. Howell. "Journalist never reveal their sources."

"Yes that is true my dear but there are ways of getting them to speak." He said with that glimmer in his eyes that the other castaways were familiar with. It was the same one he had when he came up with the Get Rid of Duke plot.

Mary Ann asked. "And just how are we going to do that?"

Gilligan grinned. "I bet it's sneaky and complicated."

"Sneaky yes, complicated? Why it's simple as pie." The millionaire stated.

"I like pie." Gilligan said.

"Then you will like this plan." Thurston stated. "Here is what I propose. You recall on the island when those cosmonauts showed up?"

The first mate's eyes went wide. "You mean…"

"That's right." Thurston said. "We loosen his tongue with good old fashioned alcohol."

Mrs. Howell smiled. "Oh Thurston that's a marvelous idea!" She said praising him. "But just how are we going to go about doing this?"

Mr. Howell's eyes turned to Jessica. "My dear are you up to the challenge?"

Jessica raised her eyebrows. "Just what do you have in mind?"

"It's quite simple. You contact Mr. Anderson under the guise of having a huge story for him. You get him to agree to meet you at a bar and let the rest handle itself."

Joan looked worried. "What if…"

"Not to worry." Thurston assured. "Skipper and Gilligan will be there watching. I assure you that no harm will come to your daughter."

"Mom." Jessica said. " I can handle myself. Don't worry about me. I'll get that man to talk. You'll see."

"Okay." Joan relented. "If you think it's best…do what you need to do so we can get Ginger back."

Two Nights Later

Jessica sat at the bar wearing an alluring red dress that showed off her long legs. She receive a couple of appreciate stares from several men. One or two offered to buy her a drink but she politely declined. She looked around and saw a blonde haired man walking towards her with an arrogant smile on his face. Jessica deduced that he must be Mr. Ted Anderson.

"Hello." The man greeted. "You must be Catherine Hughs."

"The one and only." Jessica smiled at the fake name she had given him. The strawberry blonde extended her hand which Ted kissed. She smiled politely but inside she grimaced and wished she could scratch his eyes right out.

"So." He said sitting down on a black leather bar stood beside her. "I hear you have a big scoop for me."

"I do." Jessica said. "But I am a little hesitant to tell it. I mean after all your last story…." She said her voice trailing off.

Ted brushed it off. "I know. How awful of me. I should not have trusted my source. My mistake. But I have a feeling." He said eyeing her. "That you just may pan out…" Ted's hand placed itself on her exposed knee.

Jessica laughed and removed his hand. "Not so fast." She said in a breathless voice. "First I need to know that you will trust what I say. I mean how do I know that when I tell you my story you won't brush it off?"

"Come on baby." He said moving closer. "You certainly appear to be a more credible source than some blonde floozy."

Jessica felt his eyes on her cleavage and she held a smile on her face. "Blonde floozy?"

"Yeah she is the one who fed me the story about those people on the island. I thought for sure…but Ms. Hughs you seem different…"

"Different? How?" She asked.

"Oh she was just some wannabee actress who had an axe to grind. I suppose she couldn't make it on her own and was looking to get into the limelight. Silly of me to fall for it I know but what can I say, I can't resist an gorgeous woman." He said placing his hand back on her knee.

Jessica shifted in her seat carefully moving his hand. "How do I know you won't think that I am just some wannabee actress?"

"You are way more beautiful." Ted replied.

"I see. How about I buy you a drink and we talk some more?" She said with a smile.

"Love it." The reporter replied.

Jessica ordered some new drinks and they found a nice quiet table. After getting several drinks of scotch into the journalist, the older Grant daughter pressed forward. "So. Tell me about this source of yours. Who was she?"

"Oh she is nobody." Ted said his speech slightly slurred. "Forget her."

"Please." Jessica said with a pout. "I really want to know…I mean I don't want you to think I'm like her.."

Ted grinned. "Trust me baby, you are nothing like Diana."

"Diana?" Jessica sat up.

"Yeah Diana Hart or something like that…she was just looking for a good time so she feeds me a story. What can I say? I guess I'm a chick magnet…But you Catherine, you are more classy…"

"I see." Jessica said with a smile. "You think I'm more classy?"

"Way way more…" Ted said slumping forward landing on the table.

Jessica quietly left the table and the Skipper and Gilligan hurried over to her.

"Well what happened?" Skipper asked.

"Diana Hart." Jessica replied.

"Diana Hart?" Gilligan said blankly. "Who is that?"

"I'll tell you later." Jessica said glancing over at the table where Ted was still out. "Let's get out of here."

The three hurried out of the bar and to Jessica's car. The Skipper got in the passenger side and Gilligan got in the back. They raced to the Professor's house and Jessica pulled her car into the driveway. The trio hurried to the front door and ran inside where the others were waiting

"Well?" The Professor said standing up. " What happened?"

"He gave me a name." Jessica said walking over and sitting down on the sofa. "Diana Hart."

Mary Ann looked puzzled. "Diana Hart? Who is that?"

Jessica sighed. "If I'm not mistaken I believe she is an actress who had tried out for the part of Victoria and was awful. You remember that day in the dress shop…"

The farm girl's face then showed she did recall that. "Yes…Ginger said the actress was terrible….You think that this Diana is that woman?"

"I believe so." Jessica replied.

"So wait." Gilligan said. "What does Diana have to do with Eva? I thought we were looking for Eva?"

The Professor took all this in and then asked Jessica a question. "Did Ted say what this Diana looked like by any chance?"

"He said that she was a blonde floozy."

"Blonde. Interesting." The Professor said the wheels in his head turning. "You sure blonde?"

"Yes I am." Jessica said. "Why?"

"I seem to recall Ginger telling me about how she was in a boutique and there was this rude blonde woman there. She had bumped into this woman who treated her with contempt. It makes me wonder…"

"Wonder what Professor?" asked Skipper.

"I am wondering if maybe this Diana and Eva are the same person. Think about it. We get rescued and Ginger makes her return to Hollywood. Eva comes out of the woodwork making up a false story and demanding Ginger apologize. The story fizzles out and we hear nothing more from Miss Eva. Then all of a sudden all these vicious lies begin circulating all over the place. This blonde woman treats Ginger hostility in a shop. Then some actress shows up and tries out for the part in Ginger's movie and is turned down because of poor acting skills. It just seems to be too big of a coincidence."

"But how can we prove it?" Jessica asked. "That's the thing. There are hundreds of blonde wannabee actresses out there."

"What about Ginger's partner in the movie…Daryl…Surely he can identify the actress who tried out for the movie."

"Worth a shot." Jessica said going over to the phone. "I'll call him now."

The Professor stood there hoping that his theory was correct and hoping that it would lead them to Ginger. He prayed she knew that he was doing everything in his power to find her. Stay strong my love He thoughts going to his Ginger. Stay strong

Hideaway

Ginger's muscles ached and her head hurt. Eva had her chained to the bed and she had very little mobility. It was a tiny room and there wasn't much space for her anyway with the bed taking up most of it. Time and time again she tried to think of someway of getting out of there and came up empty. There was no way. She was trapped. The only thing that kept her going was the belief that her darling Roy was turning the entire city of Los Angeles upside down trying to locate her. She knows she would if the situation was reversed.

There was nothing she would not do for him and nothing he would not do for her.
She smiled a bit to herself recalling that kidnapper on the island. The Professor had confessed to her that when she had been taken, he had been terrified. He hated the idea of someone holding her for ransom. It was part of the reason he had not wanted to let the kidnapper out of his cell. He felt he belonged there putting his sweet Ginger through danger. Roy confessed the whole ordeal made him feel more protective of her. It only made the redhead love the academic more. Which is why Ginger knew that he could not possibly believe that she would ever leave him.

No he had to know that she loved him to pieces and would never dream of walking away.
She showed that to him over and over again. There was no chance of Roy thinking otherwise. He was going to find her. He would. She was going to hold onto that belief.

The shutter to the door flung open and Eva sneered watching the redhead. "If you think that your precious Professor is coming for you, you are mistaken. He is not looking for you and never will. It's over. You will never be in his arms ever again. You are through Ginger Grant! I am going to be the next big thing. No one will ever remember you!" Eva slammed the shutter closed and Ginger sat on the bed glaring. You are wrong. She thought. Roy is looking for me. He will find me and we will be married. You are the one who is going to be run out of Hollywood.

Outside the door, Eva stood there with a smile. Sure maybe she fibbed a bit about the Professor but he will stop looking once he finds the "love letters" a certain first mate "wrote" to Ginger. Oh when he finds them….it will be priceless! Oh to see the look on that stupid farm girl's face would be the icing on the cake! Who knows maybe the Professor and that dumb brunette will console each other and….How perfect that would be! To rub that in Ginger's stupid face! She could hardly wait!

Yes once her plan had taken hold, there was no coming back for Ginger. She could deny it all but no one would believe her and think her crazy. The woman would be run clear out of town and never be able to show herself again! Not even on Broadway! She would be completely destroyed. A fate that Eva felt Ginger deserved every bit of.
