Again, it was a simple plan. Avoid her. Hide. She's mad at you, let her be.

It was really, really simple, don't go looking for her. Try to stay away from common places in the house. Do not make any commitment that involves her.

But lately Blaine had a royal ability to screw simple plans. That's why he promised Shelby that he would help her with the wedding organization and that could easily be translated to be in a room for hours with her and her.

The atmosphere was all but pleasant. Shelby was running late and the wedding planner had been on the phone for the last twenty minutes and he and Rachel were panicking in their own way. Neither one was acknowledging the other's presence. Both were looking ahead of themselves, staring at the door, under the pretense of expecting Shelby to enter, but inside calculating how bad it would be to make a quick escape.

Rachel was still mad at him. Well, to be true, she was hurt. What they had experienced the night before was special. The kiss had been amazing; she couldn't stop thinking about it. Why couldn't he see that? She just wanted him to give them some sort of a chance together.

Blaine was confused to say the least. He couldn't quite understand the pull Rachel had on him, how could she had engrained herself in his thoughts, how her mere presence could put his stomach upside down, how could she make his mind clouded just with her sweet perfume.

The conversation he had had that morning with Michelle wasn't helping either. She knew him so well; she had noticed the strange behavior, the distance he was putting between them. She had offered a break. Yes, a Ross and Rachel kind of break and that made it all even more ironic. Because she wanted him to be free but that made him feel even guiltier. He had said no, always the stubborn, never the quitter.

Shelby finally arrived apologizing with everyone and seemed to be blissfully unaware of the awkward environment. Oh to be a bride!

They were arranging the table's distribution and unexpectedly with a single joke from Blaine about his relatives and their behavior once alcohol was involved, Rachel broke down laughing and he couldn't do anything to hide his proud smile. Suddenly the tension wasn't so unbearable. And suddenly the two teenagers were once again filled with hope. They still needed to talk but the ice had been broken.

Later that day, they were all at home, having a movie night like every Saturday (one of those new family's new traditions). Shelby and Peter were the living image of a couple soon to be married, cuddling on the couch; Beth falling sleep on Rachel's lap on the floor and Blaine beside them with the bowl full of popcorn on his lap. They were watching "A Cinderella Story", after not much of Beth's begging; she had a way with her eyes that would get her everything in the future, from toys in childhood to boys in high school.

Rachel couldn't refrain from picturing herself as Sam Montgomery, wearing that breathtaking dress and dancing all night with her prince charming, who, in her mind, had an exaggerated resemblance to Blaine. She couldn't be falling so fast for this guy.

Blaine, on the other side, couldn't keep his attention on the television. His eyes were glued to Rachel. The lights from the movie were lighting up her face, her beautiful chocolate eyes following every move from the actors, her smile, gorgeous as ever, her enticing lips forming every word of the script. And he was once again daydreaming about the amazing kiss they had shared; how she fit perfectly in his arms, she was so soft, so sweet… Dangerous road Blaine! Stop it.

Luckily for him, his dad and Shelby picked up exactly that moment to say that they were going to bed and taking Beth who had been asleep a long time by now, with them.

They were alone, once again.

"So, uhm… I guess I should apologize" Blaine started softly after a couple of minutes. "I kind of overreacted, again. I freaked out, I shouldn't have… I'm really sorry".

"It's okay Blaine, I have been thinking and I understand the whole situation. I kind of reverted to the old ways" Rachel explained.

"Old ways? What do you mean?"

Rachel blushed, "I've, I've never backed down from a challenge" she almost whispered not making eye contact. "I've never been the image of beauty, you know, and I learned that if I wanted something, or someone, the only way of getting it was through determination." She made a pause. "I get carried away sometimes"

Blaine smiled lifting her chin with his right hand, making her look into his eyes "I really cannot understand why you wouldn't think yourself as beautiful Rachel, and please believe me when I say this has nothing to do with that." He let his hand drop to hers and entwined their fingers. "This has to do with my relationship with Michelle, because, although when I'm with you it's really hard to focus, I can't let me be a cheater" he admitted.

Rachel took a deep breath before answering. "I don't want you to become a cheater either, I don't like to think that this, us, is just an affair, I don't want to be the other woman, I want a real relationship, and maybe you're not the one for me…" Blaine could feel the disappointment; the emptiness. "Maybe I was daydreaming too much" she sighed feeling the tears in her eyes.

"You were not Rachel, you were right, it takes two to tango" he couldn't help but holding her tightly to himself. She rested her head on his chest, his nose automatically smelling her hair. "I feel attracted to you Rach, you have to know that, and if this wasn't so complicated, there would be no doubt about us..."

"But it is" she said.

"But it is" he repeated.

After that, the silence enveloped them and the sadness became sleepiness. They spent the night snuggled up into each other's arms and only woke up the following morning because someone was at the door. They looked at each other and before anything was said Rachel got up to open the door.

When she did a beautiful redhead was there.

"Hi, I'm looking for Blaine" she said

"Michelle" said Blaine's nervous voice.
