Blaine returned to the apartment with the firm idea of making peace. He had the intention of talking with Rachel; he wanted to apologize for the way he had acted that afternoon with that Jesse guy, and tell her that he was no longer with Michelle, he wanted to recreate the conversation they had had the night before and find a way to move forward in their new relationship, if they could call it that way. Everything was happening so fast, he wanted some kind of hold over the situation.

Of course all of this was planned by rational Blaine, who he was sure run away the moment he saw Jesse and Rachel in the kitchen almost kissing. That's when passionate Blaine appeared, and passionate Blaine wasn't really an expert of keeping his mouth shut.

"I'm sorry, am I interrupting something?" he said glaring at them both.

"Uhm, no" Rachel began trying to restart her body and taking several steps to move out of Jesse's reach. "Jesse is just leaving"

"No, I'm not" Jesse interrupted.

"Yes, you are, you were here, you said what you came to say and now, I think you should go" Rachel said trying to fight the effect her body was feeling because of Blaine's intense stare.

Jesse was taken aback at Rachel's words but he let it go. "Well, think about what I said. Call me, I'll see you at the wedding if not before. Shelby invited me" Rachel only nodded. "Nice to meet you bro" Jesse said at Blaine who scoffed and glared at him until he was out of the apartment.

"So, that was the awesome Jesse" Blaine said after a moment of uncomfortable silence.

"What?" A very dumbfounded Rachel asked.

"The wonderful prince charming who brought you and Shelby together, what a hero you got there" he said his voice poisonous.

"What is your problem?" she said now with little patience left.

"My problem is that I came to my home and I found you two being all cozy in our kitchen giving a free show for everyone to come and watch" he almost yelled.

"Oh my God Blaine, since when are you such a jerk? And since when you're such a hypocrite too? You went out with your girlfriend! We are not together after all, we're not even related. Why do you think you have the right to complain about this? She asked angrily.

"She is not-" Blaine began but was interrupted.

"Rach! Blainee! Look what mommy bought! Ice cream!" yelled a really thrilled Beth as she came running to them.

"I hope there is vanilla" answered Rachel, Beth smiled. The oldest sister looked at Blaine one last time and followed Beth to the living room, Blaine stood there feeling even more out of control than before.

Later that night Rachel couldn't stop thinking. She went to bed after the ice cream; the day had been the longest. She wanted the day to end but the same things kept running in her mind, making her restless. Jesse and his appearance act with romance proposal an all, Blaine being jealous of Jesse and angry with her. They had just made up from the previous fight and now they were fighting again.

'Way to go Rachel, always with your love triangle' she thought. Triangle, yeah right, this was definitely not a triangle; there was her, and Blaine and Michelle and Jesse. Too many cooks spoil the broth they say. There were too many people for triangle; there were too many people for a relationship.

She was really confused about everything. She wanted to tell Blaine that he had nothing to worry about, because she wasn't in love with Jesse, her heart was only his, but at the same time she couldn't get the image of him and Michelle in the living room. They weren't exactly all over each other, although Blaine didn't strike her as being really fond of PDA, but she was fucking perfect. She couldn't compete with perfection. There was one thing Rachel Berry wasn't, and that was perfect.

.-

Blaine was really frustrated with himself. He had formulated a plan, a fucking plan! Why had him such a problem with sticking to a plan? Why everything was just so confusing?

When it came to him and Rachel things weren't simple anymore. He supposed when it came to real love there had to be obstacles to overcome but he had to find the right answers.

He was on the right track. Michelle wasn't his girlfriend anymore, and he had to tell Rachel that. He had to tell her that they had broken up that morning, and they were just friends; that the only thing he could think about since that moment was her, what would she say about that, and where to go from there, but then everything tumbled down when he came home and find her really close with her ex-boyfriend because that had made him feel jealous and insecure and suddenly he didn't know if he was being stupid; if she was with Jesse and he was just a rebound or something like that…

The truth was that Blaine didn't have that much experience in that type of things and he was scared.

He had to find the way of telling her all this; just that. Piece of cake.

The following week, things were tense at the Berry-Anderson household. Peter was stressed with some kind of important meeting at his work, Shelby was running around with the wedding planner and Rachel was ignoring his existence. His only companion was Beth but even the child had better things to do that spend time with his weepy self.

He was sad because of the demise of his relationship. Yes, Michelle wasn't the love of his life but she was great, and she had been his first girlfriend. She had been part of his life during his childhood as a friend and during his teenage years as a girlfriend but nothing last forever, at least the friendship part was still possible.

But that wasn't the only reason why Blaine was upset. The other part was obviously Rachel. Things were strained at best between them. The conversation he had planned to have with her hadn't reached his desire ending. Hadn't reached his desire happening. Rachel was set in avoiding him or acting like he didn't exist since that evening in the kitchen. Her method was hurtful and quite uncomfortable. Because one thing was being ignored during breakfast while he tried to make small talk and an entirely different thing was stretching in her little top and yoga shorts in front of him like he wasn't in the room. That was definitely a torture.

Lately he had been prone to take an average of two cold showers per day and that wasn't enough. Rachel was driving him crazy, he found himself dreaming of her at night and having fantasies of her in the middle of the day. Without a doubt he had to do something and fast.

.-

Rachel was playing with fire. Once again she had adopted the 'all is fair in love and war' motto. She had accepted she wasn't perfect but she knew she had strong points, and she knew how to use them. She remembered how his eyes had caressed her legs the night of the party, so she had to use that. The shorts she had stopped using because the clothes dryer had shrunk them and barely covered his ass were now the perfect length to show her legs in front of Blaine. The perfume she had worn that day was now her daily fragrance. And the top she was too self-conscious to wear was now her favorite piece of clothing. She was set in make him break.

Who cares if he had a girlfriend? He had stuck his nose in her and Jesse's (nonexistent) relationship, so he had to suck it up! Two could play the game.
