"Hello darling, is my son here?"
"Uh..." Finn couldn't move. How could he? The mayor of LA was on his porch looking for her son.
Whoever that was.
"My son, Marshall Lee Abadeer." Heather said making a rolling motion with he hands.
Suddenly Fionna was by his side. "He isn't...really available right now."
"What do you mean 'he's not available' !? I wish to speak to him now or else I'll get the police involved!" Heather said angrily.
"Yes ma'am." Finn said with a fake smile. He opened the door and gestured for her to sit down in their living room. Everyone else were in the den. "I'll be back. Fionna, can you keep her company?" Finn said in more of a commanding tone. Fionna didn't argue. She sat down in the Lazyboy chair across from her and attempted to make conversation.
"Hello." Fionna said cheerfully.
"Child." Heather said turning her phone on and checking her messages.
"So I'm getting this vibe that you don't like me very much."
"Why would I when you've been harvesting my son for the past few months?" She said not looking up from her phone.
"He didn't know where to go. He needed a place where he felt wanted and loved so glip globbit I gave him one. Because I actually show my love for him." Fionna said.
"A petty crush could never compete with the love of a mother for her son. It's illogical." Heather said with what sounded like a mocking laugh. "Oh child, you still have some growing up to do."
"Even if I do, at least my love for Marshall will grow even more." Fionna said softly. Before Heather could comment, Finn and an angry Marshall Lee walked into the room.
"No." Marshall Lee immediately said.
"Yes, you are coming home with me. I've been looking high and low for you and when I do finally find you, you're with her!? I didn't take immediate action, no. I waited for it to play out. I sat back and watched as you finally got your own house, and that old Harley of yours get fixed up. Oh and by the way, it would have all costed more if it wasn't for the extra I snuck in." Heather said with a grin.
"Yeah I got my own place, I'm eighteen now. I'm practically an adult. At the end of this year, I'll be graduating. I'm not going to some stuffy rich kid college or college in particular. Why would I if I still have the money Dad left me in the first place!?" Marshall Lee countered.
"Enough of this nonsense, you're coming home."
"No."
Heather looked him in the eyes and walked towards him. "No?"
"You heard me. I'm officially an adult now. I'm in charge of myself." Marshall Lee said.
"You can't just-"
"Try me." Marshall Lee said cutting her off.
"I can't stay in that mansion alone!" Heather shouted.
"Too bad, now you see why I didn't want to stay there? Plus you said that you didn't want me anyways."
"Don't do this...please!" Heather said with tears falling from her eyes. "I've already lost Marshall, I don't want to lose my son too."
"I feel so uncomfortable." Finn whispered to Fionna.
"Same." She whispered back.
"Finn, Cake lost her collar." Penny said wondering in with Cake.
"Not now."
"I'm not going with you!" Marshall Lee said. "Go home."
"You know what, I don't need this. I'll just leave. Just know I still love you sweetie." Heather said walking towards the door.
"Just get a pet or something." Fionna said with a pity smile.
"That won't help her Fi, she's lonely." Finn said.
"She's alone huh?" Penny said. She sat Cake down and walked over to Heather. "Do you want to adopt a child?"
"How old are you?" Heather asked.
"Nine years old ma'am." Penny said proudly.
Heather turned to Finn. "Is she an orphan?"
"Just like I was." The nineteen year old answered.
"I guess I'll adopt you. Maybe I can raise you better since it was my first time." Heather said.
Penny smiled happily and ran upstairs. A minute later she came back down with a duffel bag.
"That was fast." Marshall Lee said.
"I was always packed. I knew this day would finally come!" Penny said happily as she walked out the door with a smiling Heather.
"That was...uh...um..." Fionna stuttered. Marshall Lee gripped her hand in his, causing her to blush. "M-Marshall..."
"Hey, it's your birthday. Enjoy your friends while we're still here." Marshall Lee said leading her into the den.
