Forever Mine:

"Come on Fionna! Hurry up! We're gonna be late!"

"Give me like…two minutes!"

"Come on man!" Jake shouted up the stairs.

"You shush it!" FIonna shouted from her bedroom. Jake turns back to Finn. "Well I tried."

"Yeah, cause repeating what I did helps." Finn said rolling his eyes. He was dressed as the Joker, while Jake was as Iron Man. They chose super hero and villain themed costumes. Fionna didn't tell anyone what she was going as because she wanted the "element of surprise!"

"Well she better get her butt down here! Marshall Lee is on his way, and everyone else is at the party already!" Finn yelled. "I'm almost done!" was all he got out of his younger sister.

At that second, Marshall strolled in the house dressed as what appeared to be a rock star. Since his shirt was red under his black leather jacket. His jeans were black and were holy at the knees. His converse were replaced with black combat boots.

"You guys ready yet or am I gonna have to drag you there?" Marshall Lee asked approaching the college kids.

"Fionna is taking forever. We have to wait on her. No Mertin gets left behind." Finn said imitating what his dad used to say when he wanted to go somewhere.

"You need to stop quoting your dad man. I think you're starting to get grey hairs." Jake said jokingly.

"Yeah, but he was way awesome though."

"There. Now you look like a warrior princess."

"I don't feel like a warrior princess."

"Look in the mirror then silly. You'll see what I see."

"Alright." Fionna turned around and looked at the master piece Idris dressed her in for the party. Her hair was pulled back so it was in a delicate ponytail at the center of her head with a bunny head band to set it all off. She wore a blue tank top that stopped at her waist and cupped around her belly button like an upside down 'v' to show off her flat stomach under a brown velvet jacket. Her a skirt was as blue as her shirt and her leggings matched her jacket and her blue boots stopped at her knees. Her belt was black velvet and held her sword from her birthday party. Idris added along makeup to brighten her face even more and made her eyes smokey.

"Whoa…" was all she could say.

"Told ya! I am an artist!" Idris said satisfied with her handy work. She adjusted FIonna's bunny head band. "Every warrior princess needs an edge. Oh, and a prince she wants to win over. And Marshall Lee is your prince."

"Nah, he isn't a prince. He's more of a bad boy kind of guy. He's not princey."

"You don't think he's a good person?"

"I never said that, but he isn't exactly the nicest guy in the world. He can be annoying and funny and cool at the same time. HE'd be more of a bad boy fantasy guy." "You're right." Idris said. "He would be a vampire. Scratch that, Vampire King!"

"What? That's silly. Sounds like a cheesy tv to me." Fionna said with a light giggle. "Thanks for helping me with my costume. Your cat costume is awesome by the way."

"Thanks, let's head down to meet your lover." Idris purred, causing FIonna to playfully shove her. Idris went downstairs first and stopped at the middle of the stairwell. "And now, the costume you boys have been iching to know about!" she said dramatically.

Fionna came downstairs at a quick pace, but to Marshall Lee, time stood still as he took her in. HE eyes looked bluer than ever. The outfit hugged her body allowing her hour-glass body to twist over to him. He felt like he was in a dream he was longing for.

"Hey." Was all she said to him as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "Loving the rock star look." "Likewise my little warrior princess." He whispered in her ear. He kissed her cheek. "I've got a surprise for you after the party."

"Uh…wuh…really?" Fionna stuttered as her cheeks turned e deep shade of red.

"Mhhm."

"As much as I'd like to sit and listen to you two whisper sweet nothings back and forth, we need to head down to Marcy's party."Finn said heading towards the door. "Plus I promised Bonnie we wouldn't be late. That, and Bonnie does want to be alone with Marceline and Blaze for too long."

"Ah-alright." Fionna said as they headed out to the party. "But I wanna ride with Marshall."

"Glad to here that." Finn said sighing in relief. "I need to talk to Jake anyways."

Finn and Jake drove down the road with Idris following behind in her red BMW. Marshall Lee handed Fionna a white motorcycle helmet with bunny ears. "Really?"

"Yeah, you don't like it?" "No, I actually love it. It suites me." Fionna said strapping it on. Marshall strapped his black one with a red stripe on and started the bike up.

"Hold on tight!" he said over the sound of the engine purring. Fiionna squealed in excitement as they drove down the road towards the party.

"I thought you said I barely had to perform tonight?"

"I know, I know, but the DJ didn't bring enough music to last all night. Not even enough for an hour. I'm sorry honey, but you'll have to unless you can get someone else to perform for you." Hudson Aberdeen said as he poured some wine in his cup. "But, enjoy the party nonetheless." And with that, he walked off. Marceline huffed in annoyance and sipped on her red fruit punch that was surely spiked with wine. Suddenly, someone tapped her on the shoulder and she spun around to see Blaze. He wore a black shirt that had a design that made it look like his shirt was burning away. His pants were the same.

"Love the look sparks." Marceline said looking him up and down.

"Thanks, I already know I'm smoking'." Blaze said. "But dang Marcy. You look like ten times better than you did this morning."

"Thanks. Where is everybody?"

"Marshall Lee, Fionna, Finn, Jake, and Idris stayed at the house, but they just called saying they're on their way. Ash and Bonnie are hanging over by the ice cream bar." Blaze jerked his thumb over his shoulder towards the two teens.

"Oh, well then I guess its just you and me for now." Marceline said nudging his shoulder with her elbow. The DJ started up a new song, causing her grin to widen. "Let's dance! I love this song!" Before Blaze could even comprehend this, Marceline had already dragged him over to the dance floor. While they danced, Blaze couldn't help but keep his eyes on her. The way her hips rocked back and forth to the beat. Her lips were red from her lipstick, making it seem like she was even paler than she already was. Her smoky eyes, everything about her was hypnotic, like she could put every other girl at the party to shame. Marceline looked up at him a few times and caught him staring, causing him to blush like crazy, but this only made her laugh. When the song ended, she lead him away towards the entrance, where all the others stood looking for her.

"Hey guys, sweet costumes." Marceline said.

"Thanks Marcy, we decided super hero and villain outfits." Jake said.

"You do know that Iron Man didn't fight the Joker right?"

"So, he's still awesome." Jake said stroking his arm. "I'm gonna go get some punch." He mumbled under his breath and walked away.

"So why are they playing the same song from earlier again?" Blaze asked just as Nikki walked in behind them.

"Cause the DJ left most of the music at his place. I gotta perform for the crowd in a minute." Marceline said.

"Hey! How about we play a few songs!?" Nikki said excitedly. "That way we're helping and getting free publicity for the band!"

"Sure, you guys are good." Marceline said with a shrug.

"Sweet, got the band equipment?" Nikki said turning towards Blaze, who drove the van to the party.

"Never leave home without it!"

"That's just weird, but awesome." Fionna said. Marshall Lee tugged on her waist. "What? Am I performing with you again?"

"Girlie, you're part of the band. Duh." Blaze said patting her shoulder and leading the other band members towards the parking lot. Marceline went over to get set up and tell her dad the plan. All the way through, Fionna couldn't help but feel anxious. Marshall Lee noticed and looked at her with worry.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm just, really glad I've found my place. My destiny, since Dad always said that everyone has a purpose. I can't help but wonder if this is mine." She said softly. She'd been with Marshall for over a month, and during that month, she's been to every band practice. She knew she lived music, but she couldn't believe that something she loved to do lead to this.

Marshall Lee cupped her cheek and forced her head towards his and gave her a crooked smile. She grinned back and willingly kissed him back when he pressed his lips against hers. She raked her fingers through his raven black hair and caressed his back. He nipped at her bottom lip, causing her to what started out as a giggle but eventually turned into a soft moan. "Well I know one thing." He whispered in her ear. "My destiny is with you."

"Marshall..." Fiona sighed happily as she leaned against the wall beside the entrance. He rested his hand against the wall and stroked her cheek, chin, then neck. "I love you." She found herself saying. He kissed her passionately for a second, making her wonder if he heard her. He pulled back seconds after her thought and leaned near her ear.

"Say it again."

"I love you, Marshall Lee Abadeer."

"I love you too, Fionna Mertins." He kissed her cheek and maneuvered himself around her in a position that made her lean against him while he leaned against the wall. "I've got a surprise for you after the party."

"You said that earlier, but I can't really place my finger on what it could be. Can I touch it?" Fionna asked.

"Yes and no. It's not an object, but you can." Marshall Lee said.

"Well can you at least give me a hint?"

"Alright," Marshall Lee said. "Alone."

"Alone?" Fiona turned around to face him. "What does that-"

"Guys!" Nikki said running over. "Marceline wants to know if we can play back up while she sings?"

"Yeah, let's go." Marshall said holding Fionna's hand and leading her over to the stage. All the while, Fionna thought about the hint and what the surprise could be.

When they were set up on stage, Marceline looked at them.

"Follow my lead. You'll know when to jump in." She said. She gripped her favourite microphone in her hands and sighed, before she spoke into it.

"Hey guys, and thanks for coming. It means a lot to me to know that so many celebs would show up. I've got a new song I've been working on, and since I've got an audience anyways, I might as well sing it for y'all. " Marceline stunned her infamous bass and smiled. "This is called Don't Let Me Get Me. Hope you like it."

Never win first place

I don't support the team

I can't take direction

And my socks are never clean

Teachers hated me

So my Dad scolded me

I was always in a fight cause I

Can't do nothin right

Marshall Lee and the band pick up from their and rocked out to the tune.

Everyday I fight a war against the mirror

Can't stand the person staring back at me

Cause I'm a hazard to myself

Don't let me get me

I'm my own worst enemy

Better than you would know yourself

So irritating

Don't wanna be my friend no more

I wanna be somebody else

Fiona sings along in the background

(No no no no)

Yeah

(No no no no)

LA told me

You'll be a rock star

All you'd have to change

Is everything you are

Tired of being compared

To damn Bonnibel

She's so pretty

But that just ain't me

So doctor doctor won't you please prescribe me something

A day in the life of someone else

Cause I'm a hazard to myself

Don't let me get me

I'm my own worst enemy

Better than you would know yourself

So irritating

Don't wanna be my friend no more

I wanna be somebody else

Yeah

(Don't let me get me)

Don't let me

(I'm my own worst enemy)

Whoa

(Better than you would know yourself)

So irritating

Don't wanna be my friend no more

I wanna be somebody else

So doctor doctor won't you please

Prescribe me something

A day in the life of someone else

(Don't let me get me!)

Marshall Lee played out a long guitar solo with Nikki and Marceline. The crowd cheered and waved their hands.

Cause I'm a hazard to myself

Don't let me get me

I'm my own worst enemy

Better than you would know yourself

So irritating

Don't wanna be my friend no more

I wanna be somebody else

Yeah

(Don't let me get me)

Don't let me

(I'm my own worst enemy)

Whoa

(Better than you would know yourself)

So irritating

Don't wanna be my friend no more

I wanna be somebody else

"Thank you. And now, I'm proud to introduce Marshall Lee and the Scream Kings!"

Marceline stepped aside for Marshall Lee to take the mic. "Thanks guys. I'm Marshall Lee, that's Fionna on back up, Nikki on electric, Ash on concert keyboard, and Blaze on drums. These songs are some of our originals. I hope you like them."

The crowd cheered them on as Marshall Lee started up the song.

Days swiftly come and go, I'm dreaming of her

She's seeing other guys, emotions they stir

The sun is gone, the nights are long

And I am left while the tears fall

Did you think that I would cry on the phone?

Do you know what it feels like being alone?

I'll find someone new

Swing, swing, swing from the tangles of

My heart is crushed by a former love

Can you help me find a way to carry on again?

Wish cast into the sky, I'm moving on

Sweet beginnings do arise, she knows I was wrong

The notes are old, they bend, they fold

And so do I to a new love

Did you think that I would cry on the phone?

Do you know what it feels like being alone?

I'll find someone new

Swing, swing, swing from the tangles of

My heart is crushed by a former love

Can you help me find a way to carry on again?

Bury me

You thought your problems were gone

Carry me

Away, away, away

Swing, swing, swing from the tangles of

My heart is crushed by a former love

Can you help me find a way to carry on again?

Swing, swing, swing from the tangles of

My heart is crushed by a former love

Can you help me find a way to carry on again?

Swing, swing, swing from the tangles of

My heart is crushed by a former love

Can you help me find a way to carry on again?

Swing, swing, swing from the tangles of

My heart is crushed by a former love

Can you help me find a way

The crowd roared louder and whooped like crazy. Marshall Lee nodded at Fionna, letting her know it was her time to sing a solo.

Well, she lives in a fairy tale

Somewhere too far for us to find

Forgotten the taste and smell

Of the world that she's left behind

It's all about the exposure

The lens I told her

The angles were all wrong now

She's ripping wings off of butterflies

Keep your feet on the ground

When your head's in the clouds

Well, go get your shovel

And we'll dig a deep hole

To bury the castle, bury the castle

Go get your shovel

And we'll dig a deep hole

To bury the castle, bury the castle

So one day he found her crying

Coiled up on the dirty ground

Her prince finally came to save her

And the rest you can figure out

But it was a trick and the clock struck twelve

Well, make sure to build your heart

Brick by boring brick

Or the wolf's gonna blow it down

Keep your feet on the ground

When your head's in the clouds

Well, go get your shovel

And we'll dig a deep hole

To bury the castle, bury the castle

Go get your shovel

And we'll dig a deep hole

And we'll bury the castle, bury the castle

Well, you built up a world of magic

Because your real life is tragic

Yeah, you built up a world of magic

If it's not real

You can't hold it in your hand

You can't feel it with your heart

And I won't believe it

But if it's true

You can see it with your eyes

Oh, even in the dark

And that's where I want to be, yeah

Go get your shovel

And we'll dig a deep hole

To bury the castle, bury the castle

Go get your shovel

And we'll dig a deep hole

To bury the castle, bury the castle

Marceline smiled in delight as the crowd rung out a chorus of applause for The Scream Kings. Fionna laughed in excitement and hugged Marshall Lee. He couldn't help but laugh too and sway her into a dip like they did in the old romance movies and kissed her passionately. "Where would I be without my Fi?" He said to her.

"Encore!" Someone from the crowd shouted.

"Dude, that has to be a celeb shouting that!" Blaze said.

"The whole crowd is full of celebs man. Enjoy the fame!" Ash said.

They walked off of the stage and Nikki hooked up her mp3 to the DJ station. And she had plenty of tasteful music that everyone would enjoy.

Hudson sat at the table with other record owners talking over the performance.

"The Scream Kings just...blew my mind!" One of the men said. Hudson couldn't help but nod in agreement. The band truly did have class. They had all the aspects of music and the perfect band formation from what his daughter told him earlier that night. They were raw, but with a little elbow grease, they could be the number one band on the charts. He had to get to them before any one else did.

Hudson made his way over to the bar. Marshall Lee was sitting with Fionna at the bar table when Hudson Aberdeen decided to approach him.

"Hello." He said in a professional tone. Marshall immediately stopped tickling the bubbly blond and looks up in surprise as he shook the middle aged man's hand. "Marshall Lee isn't it?

"Yeah, um yes sir." Marshall Lee said trying to contain his excitement. This guy's owned Nightosphere Records and the Incorporation. What did he want to talk to him about?

"I couldn't help but notice what a spectacular band you have. And your music...fantastic."

"Wow, um thanks, sir." Marshall Lee said.

"You don't already happen to be signed to another record already are you?" Hudson asked.

"No sir."

"Well then, when your ready to start, give me a call." Hudson said handing him his business card. "Keep in touch."

"Alright!" Marshall shouted over the crowd. When Hudson was out of ear shot, he grabbed Fionna by her waist and spun her around in the air. Fionna laughed happily at his excitement. "I can't believe that just happened!"

"We just got...oh my flippin glob!" Fionna said excitedly.

"We gotta go tell everybody!"

The two teens ran through the crowd. Marshall Lee accidentally ran into two celebrities (a Coldplay band member and Justin Bieber. Fionna stopping to get the teen idol's autograph and taking a picture with him.). By the time they made it to everyone else, it had been ten minutes.

"What's up?" Finn asked. Bonnie was too pissed about the song to talk.

"We just talked to Hudson Aberdeen!" Marshall Lee said.

"Oh my fuckin glob what did the guy want!?" Blaze asked.

"He wants to sign us!"

"WHAT!?" the band member shouted in unison. They high gives each other and bumped fists. Blaze went as far as to hug Marshall Lee.

"What the hell did you tell him?" Blaze asked.

"I told him alright. He said keep in touch and call when we're ready to get serious!"

"Yea boi!" Fionna shouted excitedly. Marceline walked over nonchalantly.

"What's got you weenies pumped?"

"Your dad's gonna sign us!" Ash said. He looked at her neutral face and got suspicious. "Did you-"

"Hadn't spoken to him since before the party."

"Then we did this ourselves guys." Marshall said holding up the card. "We've been a band for four years. After performing at talent shows, restaurants, and small concerts, we've finally made it. We did it." Everyone rang out in a chorus of cheers. "We gotta tell Billy."

"Who's Billy?" Fionna asked.

"My dad's brother. He's in charge of our band stuff. Basically our manager."

"Oh, cool."

"Well guys, there's still a party goin on." Marceline pointed out.

"Where's Jake?" Fionna asked.

"He hooked up with that Asian singer Utama Ukatu. Otherwise known as Lady Rainicorn." Finn said jerking his thumb over his shoulder towards the corner. Where Jake had a blond Asian girl pressed against the wall and making out with her passionately. Looked like she was enjoying being with him.

"Lucky Jake." Ash said. Just as he spoke those words, Idris came running over with a glint of joy in her eyes. Holding her hand was the drummer from the band Flame Retardant.

"Idris, who's this guy?" Blaze asked protectively.

"Blaze, this is Aaron." Idris said. Aaron nodded his head at Blaze. "Aaron, this is my idiot twin Blaze. That's Marshall Lee, his girlfriend Fionna, her older brother Finn, his girlfriend Bonnie, Ash, Nikki, and that's Jake in the corner over there. But you remember Marceline from that party two weeks ago you mentioned."

"Yeah. Hey guys." Aaron said. Blaze leaned towards his twin and whispered to her.

"Dude, you don't seriously plan to hang out with him do you?" Blaze asked.

"Remember Blaze, I'm your twin. I'll still kick your ass. Besides, yeah. Why do you care about who I hang out with? It's none of your concern."

"You're my sister. Everything you do is my concern." Blaze said.

"Whatever. He's taking me to this new restaurant at LA Beach. I'll be home later. Tell mom for me." Idris said as Aaron lead her out the door.

"Sure. Whatever." Blaze grumbled. Marshall Lee shoved his friend jokingly. "What?"

"Let it go man. Idris will kick your ads if you try to ruin it for her." Marshall said.

"Fuck that." He turned towards Ash. "Wanna help me spy on them?"

"Hell yeah. Can't wait to see you get your ass kicked if you get caught." Ash said.

"Hint: IF I get caught." Blaze said as he walked out with Ash. Their friends stared at the door.

"I give them an hour." Nikki said.

"Oh big time." Finn said.

"I need to get home. My mom needs some help with her medicine since Bubba went out with an old friend. Mind riding me home? I carpooled with Ash." Bonnie said.

"Sure babe. See ya guys." Finn said with a wave. Jake had disappeared from the corner. Just then, the lead singer from Flame Retardant walked by and gave Nikki a wink and nod.

"I'll see you guys later." She said. "I think my plans for tonight have cleared up." She walked away towards the celebrity.

Fionna shook her head at how everyone just upped and left. Marshall Lee snaked his arm around her waist and brought her closer to him. She looked up at his peat bog eyes and couldn't help but smile.

"You ready for your surprise?"
