"Ya've got ta breathe, love. I didn't really think I'd be getting in your pants like this." Chibs said with a laugh. Jax knew he was trying to calm Mackenzie down, so he didn't take the joke offensively. Chibs was kneeled in front of Mackenzie's parted legs, trying to judge when to get her to push.
The contractions made Mackenzie feel like she was ripping apart on the inside. They were getting more and more frequent and she felt the baby getting lower and lower. She still couldn't believe Chibs was delivering her baby on a plane that had been set to take her away from her family.
"Baby, look at me. You got to breathe. I'm right here and everything's going to be fine, okay?" Mackenzie looked into her husband's eyes and inhaled slowly. He nodded and she exhaled. Opie was on the phone with Gemma, trying to find out everything he could about when Mackenzie should push and what should and shouldn't happen. As he was feeding Chibs the information, Mackenzie grew more nervous.
"Aye, Mackenzie, I'm gonna check and make sure this babe has her head down here, okay?" Mackenzie nodded and closed her eyes as Chibs felt for the baby's head. He smiled and let out a relieved breath.
"Is she okay?" Mackenzie asked, looking down at Chibs for some type of reassurance. He nodded and scooted forward.
"Aye, she's where she needs ta be. Ya need to push, Mackenzie. Push as hard as ya can, okay?" Chibs looked from Jax to Mackenzie. She closed her eyes and nodded.
"On three, baby. One, two, three." Jax barely got the word three out before Mackenzie was screaming and nearly gripping his hand to the point of breaking. She pushed as much as she could before panting and trying to catch her breath. She saw Happy start to turn and yelled out at him.
"I'm fine. Enough people have their face up in my business." Mackenzie growled. Happy nodded and stayed facing out of the plane. She gave Jax a nod and pushed again when he counted.
"Good job, lass. One more push to get her shoulders out, okay? One more and we'll have a baby." Chibs wanted nothing more than a strong drink. He knew delivering this baby would ruin vaginas for him for at least a week.
Mackenzie cried out and tears ran down her face as she pushed one more time. She heard a cry and collapsed with relief. Chibs wrapped the baby in towel and tried to clean her up a little with another one. Jax tied off the cord and pulled his ka-bar out to cut it. Once the cord was cut and the baby was a little cleaner, Chibs passed her into Mackenzie's arms.
"Hey baby. She's so beautiful, Jax." Mackenzie kissed the baby's head and held her close to her chest. The baby's soft skin and warm cheeks made all the pain worth it. She opened her eyes and Mackenzie felt like crying. They were the exact same color as Jax and Abel's.
"Victory Teller, you have your daddy's eyes." Mackenzie said with a laugh as carefully laid her into Jax's arms. He looked down into her daughter's eyes and smiled.
"She's got your hair and nose though, Mack. You did so good, baby." He stood up and hugged Chibs to him with one arm and Victory in the other.
"Couldn't have done it without you, brother. All three of you." Jax said with a smile. Mackenzie covered her legs with a towel and laughed.
"Happy, you can turn around and meet the baby now." She smiled as he turned around slowly. When his eyes fell on Victory, he seemed to morph from a stone cold killer to a big teddy bear. Chibs smiled and passed him over to Happy.
"Hap, we wanted to ask you differently but Mackenzie and I want you to be Victory's godfather. Anything happens to us, I gotta know she'll be taken care of." Jax explained as Happy seemed lost in Victory's blue eyes. He looked up and nodded with a smile.
"I love you both. She's family. I'll be the best fucking godfather ever." Happy promised. Mackenzie giggled at his determination and nodded. Jax felt relieved knowing that with Chibs being Abel's godfather and Happy being Victory's, both of his children would never be alone.
"Aye, this is great. I do think we should get the ladies to Saint Thomas though. I don't think babies are supposed to hang out on planes." Chibs said with a laugh. Jax nodded and helped Mackenzie up and into the sweat pants she'd been wearing when she'd gotten abducted as Opie went out to get the suv. It was actually convenient that it'd been there after all.
"I'll call Phil and have him come get your bike brother." Happy informed Jax as he put Victory into her mother's arms. Jax started the suv and nodded.
"Jax, I don't feel that great." Mackenzie said as she cradled Victory to her. He glanced over from speeding down the highway behind Chibs, Happy and Opie and noticed she was pale. He revved the engine and their lead escort sped up even further. The Mayans that had been at the airport sped to keep up the rear detail they'd volunteered for.
The closer they got to charming, the bigger the escort became. The Sons fell in ahead of the suv and several Mayans flanked the sides and covered the rear. With over twenty bikes around the car, there was no way the Teller family wasn't going to be safe.
A team of doctors met the suv as Jax parked it in the ambulance area. Juice got the keys from him and moved it as Jax followed Mackenzie and Victory into the emergency room. The only thing on his mind was the health of his wife and daughter. When the doctors refused to let him back any further, it took Happy, Opie, Chibs and Clay to hold him back. He slammed his fists into the closed doors they'd disappeared through.
"Ope, Mackenzie was worried you wouldn't understand why we didn't chose you." Jax said as he tried to drink some of the coffee Gemma had gotten him. They were sitting in the waiting room, awaiting any news of Mackenzie or Victory.
"Brother, I've got three kids. I get it. Your ol' lady worries too much about biker's feelings." He said with a laugh. Jax smiled and nodded his head in agreement. Truth be told, he'd been a little anxious as well. Knowing Opie understood relaxed him slightly.
"Mr. Teller?" Dr. Kalowski's smile made Jax breathe easy as he stood up from his seat. "Both mother and baby are doing just great. Victory came a little earlier than we would have wanted, but she was actually bigger than we thought. Mackenzie never would have carried her to term. We're going to keep them both over night to make sure everything is okay and reevaluate tomorrow. Congratulations, Dad."
Jax nodded and shook the doctor's hand with a smile. He followed her back to Mackenzie's room as a nurse led the rest of the family to where they could view Victory in the nursery.
"That's my sissy!" Abel announced, pointing right at Victory. Gemma kissed his cheek and nodded as she and the rest of the SAMCRO family looked in and immediately fell in love with the newest member of the family.
