Hello all! It's been almost a year and I'm sorry about that. Life seemed to get in the way. This isn't the complete chapter but I wanted to post a little something. Might get a little flack for the content of this chapter but that's okay. Comments are welcome. As always I do not own sailor moon.

Rei had been tossing and turning for what seemed like hours. She kicked off the covers in frustration and looked over at the clock. Rei started to think about how she was going to explain the event that had changed her life, when the memories came flooding back and Rei couldn't do anything to stop them.

~~Flash Back~~

Rei woke with a start. She heard a crashing sound outside of her bedroom door with men yelling. Shortly after she heard her grandfather yell and she immediately ran to her door. Without hesitation she sung her door open to see her grandfather trying to fight off the intruders. Within seconds her grandfather was on the ground unconscious. Rei's anger had hits its peak as she rushed at the men. Rei mentally cursed herself for sending Chad ahead of them to prepare for their arrival at the annual retreat. She wasn't sure what they were looking her but she was hell bent on not letting them get it. Taking a swift blow to the jaw Rei stumbled back bringing her hand to her face. There was fire in her eyes as she lunged for the man who had hit her. Rei got a few good hits in before she was tackled to the ground.

"Hold her down" the man commanded to his partner. Rei felt pressure on her shoulders. She knew she had to get out of the situation she was in but the more she struggled the more pressure she felt. Rei watched as the man stood over her looking down at her with a smile on his face. In one swift motion she brought her leg up making contact with the man's groin. He fell over with a grunt. 'If only I could get out of this guy's hold' Rei thought to herself. Suddenly there was a stinging sensation on the right side of Rei's face. The man who had just been on the ground a second ago was now kneeling on both of Rei's legs effectively pinning her to the ground unable to move. Rei panicked as she tried to move 'why didn't I just call for help'.

"What are we doing to do with her?"

"Oh, I think I'm going to have a little fun with her." The man says with a smirk.

Rei's eyes widened when she realized what his statement meant. She began to scream for help. The man smacked her again harder than the last time.

"Now, sweetie don't make a sound and I'll let you live."

~~Flash Back~~

As the memory faded Rei looked back at the clock. '4:30 it's going to be a long night.' Rei thought as she sat up resting her face in her hands. She decided to get dressed and take a walk. Before leaving she sent Markus a message.

Rei: Couldn't sleep. Taking a walk. I'm alright. Promise.

Rei left the hotel and started to walk down the city's empty streets as another memory washed over her.

~~Flash Back~~

She wasn't sure how many hours had passed or how she had survived. She slowly opened her eyes to see if they had finally left. She tensed when she heard a noise coming from the entrance. Within seconds she was being held by someone, she wasn't sure who but they were crying. Rei closed her eyes for a moment almost allowing the pain to overtake her body. Suddenly her eyes shot open and she pushed the person away frantically.

"You… You shouldn't be here!" she screamed.

"Shh… Rei, its Mina… I won't hurt you… you're safe." Mina said as she tried to calm down her friend. She looked around the shrine and saw it to be a complete mess, everything was thrown around. That's when she noticed Rei's grandpa.

"Rei… I need to go check on your grandpa"

Mina walked over and knelt down, from the looks of it he wasn't breathing. Mina frowned and returned.

"I need to call for help… Rei I'm sorry but your grandpa…"

Rei began to shake but refused to cry. Rei tried to stand but fell, her legs hurt from the amount of pressure the man had placed on them.

"Help me to my room"

"Don't you think you should stay put until the paramedics get here?"

Rei shook her head and asked again

"Help me to my room" She was being stubborn but she didn't want her friend to find out what had happened. She needed to get changed and clean herself up so no one would ask her any questions. Just as she was coming out of her room the paramedics had arrived and were loading her grandpa onto a stretcher. While they were wheeling her grandpa out of the shrine the police arrived. 'Great' she thought 'I really don't need this'.

"Mina, I have to talk to the police, could you call Chad and tell him he needs to return home but only tell him its important and please don't contact the others."

"Rei…. Don't you think the others should know about this?"

Rei started to rub her temples, her head was pounding and her body ached all over. She wasn't in the mood to deal with everyone tonight.

"How about we call a meeting tomorrow. We'll tell them then. I don't want them to see this place like this or to see me like this."

~~Flash Back~~

Rei was brought back to reality by her phone ringing. Looked down to see who was calling at this hour.

"Markus, I'm fine really…"

"Where are you?"

"Walking around the city, about to head back now"

"You know it wasn't your fault right Rei?" Markus asked.

Rei sighed into the phone. "Yes, I know. I miss him every day. I think about if I had done something different if things would have been different."

"Cheer up Rei, something positive happened from that night. Come back to the hotel and we'll go to that studio we rented the first day we got here and unwind."

A small smile crept onto Rei's lips. Rei stepping into a twenty-four hour convenient store to grab some coffee. 'I'm defiantly going to need this today'. It was almost 6:30 by the time Rei had made it back to the hotel. Markus was standing outside leaning on a wall waiting.

"Took you long enough, how far did you walk"

Rei gave her friend a shrug. "Honestly couldn't say I was lost in thought".

"Here I bought some coffee, you know you don't have to stay up with me." Rei said as she handed him the cup.

"You're not alone, not now not ever. Besides I like impromptu jam sessions." Markus said pulling his friend into a hug.

They walked a little ways without either saying a word.

"You might want to message Serena letting her know to meet you at the studio instead of the hotel so she doesn't think you're running again." Markus said looking over at Rei. He could tell she was already worn down. He wasn't sure how effective this conversation was going to be.

"Hmm… oh yeah" Rei replied

Rei: Hope I don't wake you. Can you meet me at FLOW studios? Its just a few blocks away from the hotel. Couldn't sleep. See you at eight.

They made their way into the studio. Markus had called in a favor and they had the studio to themselves all morning. Rei immediately went for the piano, running her fingers over the keys. Rei closed her eyes and began to play a soft melody.
