chapter 27

The first few weeks of summer passed by slowly, the couple spending their days taking walks, watching anime or simply lying around. They did anything and everything that would keep them together for as long as possible. Hell, Izaya had even taken a liking to joining Shizuo in the shower with an excuse of, "I can't miss a single moment with you, you know."

That's where Shizuo found himself now, face bright red as Izaya washed his hair. Izaya hummed a bit to himself, scrubbing the blonde's scalp gently. Shizuo made a small huffing noise but didn't really complain. "What are we doing today?"

"Is there anything specific you want to do?" Izaya asked casually, helping Shizuo rinse his hair. "I didn't really have anything in mind."

Shizuo thought for a second. "Well...I don't really wanna stay inside all day."

"We can go out," Izaya nodded, running his hands through Shizuo's hair a last time before ushering the blonde over so he could wash his own hair. "We can pick up some snacks and go to a quiet place." He added.

Shizuo lathered himself with body soap, vanilla scented, and glanced at Izaya. "You have a place in mind?"

"Yeah, you'll like it," Izaya assured. "Quiet...no people. It'll just be us."

That sounded pretty nice to Shizuo, so he didn't object. The boys washed and got out, pulling on their clothes. Izaya wore black jeans and a red t-shirt and Shizuo pulled on his blue jeans, the ones Izaya always insisted he wear, and a white long sleeved. Izaya frowned a bit at the choice of clothing, but he didn't say anything. The long sleeves were to cover the scars and Shizuo would first strangle Izaya before wearing something else. Izaya towel dried his hair before walking over and doing the same to Shizuo. The blonde made a huffing sound. "I can dry my hair on my own, you know."

"I know, but I like doing this," Izaya murmured gently, a smile on his lips. "Let me take care of you, ne?"

Shizuo blinked a bit but a small smile formed on his lips and he didn't argue. Izaya grinned and continued to dry Shizuo's. They both dressed and such, Izaya all but dragging Shizuo outside. The sun was hot, beating down, and Shizuo frowned a bit. "Shit, it's hot."

"It is summer," Izaya reminded lightly. He twined his fingers with Shizuo's and they walked down the street. It was quiet, surprisingly, and Izaya hummed a little. "Any specific foods you want to pick up?"

Shizuo hesitated. "...Sweets."

Izaya blinked and then laughed loudly. "Well, if you insist."

There was a shop up ahead where they stopped, Izaya buying what he knew Shizuo liked; Pudding, brownies and a few bags of candy. He bought a few sodas, too, just incase. Shizuo approved of it, and they were soon back to walking. It was then that Shizuo realized he had no idea where they were going. He looked at Izaya, curious. "Lead the way."

Izaya grinned and nodded, pulling Shizuo ahead, eager. Shizuo smiled a bit; Izaya was rather cute when he was excited, of course he was cute all the time, though. Izaya ended up dragging him to a park, though this one was different. It was basically all trees and grass, no play structures or fountains. Izaya led him further, to a place where they were completely hidden by trees. The two teens sat down, Shizuo looking up at the sky as Izaya rummaged through their bags of food. "I like it here.'

"I figured you would," Izaya murmured with a gentle smile, handing a can of soda to his lover. "No people...nature...and the clouds are out~"

Shizuo smiled and took the soda, leaning against Izaya. "We should come here more...while we can, at least."

Izaya frowned a bit and paused, glancing away. They had avoided the whole subject for days, hoping to not have to speak about it until the end of summer. But here they were, not even half way into summer, bringing it up. He sighed, running a hand through his hair. Shizuo sat up then, realizing that he had changed the mood suddenly. "Sorry, I shouldn't have said that."

"No, it's fine," Izaya assured quietly. He turned to fully face Shizuo, a side ways smile tugging at his lips. "I just wasn't expecting us to talk about this so soon."

"I wasn't meaning for us to talk about it," Shizuo murmured, glancing away as he set his soda can down. "I was just...saying..."

"No, I know." Izaya nodded and then huffed a bit, shaking his head. "I'm just being stupid, really. It's not as if we can avoid it forever."

"But we don't have to talk about it right now," Shizuo added with a roll of his eyes. "...I don't really want to. It'll just upset the both of us."

Izaya nodded, understanding. He hummed a bit, reaching out to touch Shizuo's cheek, warm from the summer sun. "...Yeah, I guess you're right. Later, then." He was glad, though, not one for seeing Shizuo upset over this particular situation. He smiled softly, leaning in to press his lips to Shizuo's. Shizuo melted into the kiss, letting his arms wrap around Izaya's neck. Izaya almost smirked, parting his lips to let his tongue trail lightly against Shizuo's lips, begging for entrance that was granted right away. Their tongues met, Shizuo moaning softly at the contact that he hadn't had in a bit. Izaya pulled the blonde closer, Shizuo now in his lap. Their kiss was growing hotter, a little more sloppy as the seconds ticked by. Maybe it was the heat...or maybe they were both just perverts, but Izaya didn't mind one bit.

Shizuo broke away from the kiss when his lungs started to burn, panting hotly against Izaya's lips. Izaya smirked a bit, his hands sliding up under Shizuo's shirt. "...Didn't you say you wanted to do it under the pretty clouds?"

Shizuo's face burned red. He glanced away and, very slowly, nodded. "Y-yeah..."

Izaya smirked again. "Then we will."

Sex in next chapter I swear! This is as far as I was able to take this right now, im SOOOO sorry guys! I hate being cut off during yaoi too, so I know you all probably hate me.
