Chapter Five: Reunion
Sonic's house
Greenleaf Village
Pretty much the next day…
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Sonic sat on the inflatable couch in the basement room, staring wistfully into space as Dan typed on his laptop, while Flare and Chris both played Mario Riders on the PlaySystem 2 that was hooked up to the tv in the room, while Lydia watched them.
The whole time, he had been thinking about the night before, and what the Oracle had told him about his brother and sister, as well as the identity of his mother.
"So, I'm gonna go ahead and ask." Said Flare, as he took the lead as Daisy on the game, "Are we even gonna have a drummer and keyboardist by the time the gig is going on?"
"Hey, I've been working my butt off trying to accomplish just that for you guys!" Dann replied sharply, "But apparently, people on the internet are cocks because the only responses I've been getting are things like, 'your band sucks' and 'is that lynx guy gay?' and stupid shit like that!"
"I told you it was unrealistic we would get anyone to play in our band before tomorrow." Chris told him.
Just then, Sonic got an idea.
He was going to call his brother and sister to him…
He then got up and grabbed his guitar and hooked it up to his amp in the corner.
"Yeah, Sonic, I think at this point practicing is pointless." Said Dann, seeing this, "Hell, this whole thing is pointless! This is it! Our band is done for!"
As Dann went on, Sonic then began playing his guitar, strumming out a jam that he wrote himself, which still bore no lyrics just yet.
As he did, he medallion began to glow…

Meanwhile…
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Jake and Sonia were nearly on their way to the café for another date, when they somehow began to hear music coming from afar.
"Hey," Sonia said to Jake, "You hear that, right?"
Jake listened for a moment, then nodded.
"C'mon," He said, taking her hand, "Let's go find it!"
He then led Sonia by the hand as they went off to find the source of the music.

Also meanwhile…
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Manic leaned against the shelf at the drugstore in Greenpeace Village, reading a comic book after having performing another successful theft, this time robbing an Aristocrat's mansion of it's owner's jewelry.
He then heard the music.
Mystified, he put the comic back, then walked out of the store (Snatching a pack of bubble gum along the way without the shopkeeper noticing.), then followed the music to it's source…
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Back at Sonic's house…
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Sonic continued to jam until he heard a knocking at his front door.
Upon hearing this, he put down the guitar and dashed upstairs to the door, then jerked it open to see both Jake and Sonia, and Manic both standing at the door, wondering why they had been drawn here, and just who each other were.
Immediately, the groups both spotted each other's medallions.
"Hey…" Said Sonic, "You have…"
"A medallion…" Sonia finished.
"… Sort of like mine…" Manic continued.
"… But of a different shape." Jake finished.
The group was silent for a moment.
Sonic then broke the silence by saying, "Ummm…. You guys can come in if you want."
Sonia and Jake nodded, as Manic did the same, and Sonic led them inside, leading them to the living room, allowing them to each take seats.
Another silence.
"So…." Sonic spoke up finally, his statement directed at Sonia and Manic, "You guys are my brother and sister, huh?"
After this statement, the group of siblings, as well as Jake, began to converse about themselves, as well as their interests and such, and before long, the topic of Sonic's band came up, at which point Sonia and Manic both told Sonic and Jake of what instruments they just so happened to be good at,
With that, Sonic and Jake led them downstairs to where the rest of the band and their friends were, then showed them to the insturments in question.
"So…" Said Sonic, slinging the strap for his guitar over his shoulder as he got ready to play, "What songs can you guys play?"
"I know the keys to 'Power of Love' by Huey Lewis and the News." Sonia replied.
"I know the drumlines." Manic added.
"I'll follow if you lead, Sonic." Jake said as well.
"Being a bassist is my specialty." Flare chimed in.
Sonic smiled, then switched on his amp, as Jake and Flare did the same.
"Right then…"
Sonic then yelled, "Let's Jam and Juice! One, Two, Three, Four!"
Sonia then began the keyboard line, playing each key with the daintiness and sophistication of the aristocrat she was, as Jake played the backup guitar, strumming like the foxy boss he was, and Flare strummed his bass like the snazzily-dressed player he was.
As Sonic, Sonia, Manic, and Jake all played, their medallions began to glow luminously.
Dann, Chris, and Lydia all watched in awe as this happened.
Once they had finished the song, they then noticed their medallions glowing.
"Dude…" Said Dann, still in awe, "That… was…"
He then bolted up from his seat and made a thumbs up and bellowed:
"AWESOME!"
He then turned to Chris and said, whilst flipping him the middle finger on both hands, "Told you we'd find a drummer and keyboardist!"
Chris shrugged.
"I suppose you did…" He said.
"We are so going to the gig tomorrow night now!" Sonic exclaimed happily.
"Which means," Flare added, "We gotta practice our asses off all today and all tonight!"
"And," Jake added as well, "We need to figure out what song we're gonna play as well!"
"Leave it to me!" Sonic told him, "I've actually been writing a song for a while!"
"As long as you can have it finished by tomorrow," Dann retorted, "It's fine by me."
Sonic nodded, smirking.
"Don't worry, Dann!" he replied, "I got this! Now, if you'll excuse us…"
Sonic then walked over to his brother and sister.
"… Me and my siblings gotta 'bond.'"
He then walked out with Manic and Sonia, Jake following not too far behind.
"Wait…" Said Dann, "Did he say 'siblings?'"

Survailence room
Black Skull Fortress
That same moment…
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
A young, 22-year old man sat in front of the survailence monitors, looking at the security footage from the C.H.A.O.S. array during the attack by the Freedom Fighters.
He had light skin, blonde hair that was longish and done in a messy croptop, and wore a pair of aviator shades over his eyes, as well as a brown leather bomber jacket bearing the Robotnik Imperial emblem on the back and sleeves, black pants, black boots, and a pair of Beratta M9A1 pistols with attached silencers and tactical laser gunsights held in shoulder holsters he wore.
And pacing behind him was his older brother, a 23-year-old who looked nearly identical to him, except he wore an eye patch over his left eye, had blue eyes, and wore a very dark grey Robotnik Imperial General's uniform bearing a buttonover design under a black trenchcoat, a black peak cap with a brass emblem on the front of it bearing the Robotnik Imperial emblem, black leather Officer's gloves, nearly knee-high boots, and had a Tokarev TT33 pistol on his belt.
"We're done for…" the older brother said as he paced, worry and fear in his eyes and voice, "This is it. The gig is up. We're gonna be roboticized for sure! This screw up, combined with the attack on our base under one of our officer's supervision while we were out was enough to bring this on us!"
"Sherrock, will you stop worrying?" The younger brother told him, lighiting a cigarette in his mouth, "We're gonna be fine."
"No we're not, Gren!" Sherrock snapped, "We were given one job, and that was to supervise the operation of the C.H.A.O.S. array until we could use it, but no, the goddamn freedom fighters had to go and attack…"
Gren ignored his brother's carrying on as he looked at a paticular bit of security footage.
In it, a bright cyan flash ran across the halls, then as soon as it came, it vanished.
Using his advanced computer skills, replayed it, but slowed it down a bit. When he did, the blurry image of a blue hedgehog came into view. He then went and enhanced the image, making the image of Sonic become clearer. Next, he centered in on him, making it so his face and his medallion were able to be easily recognized.
Gren'eyes went wide when he realized who this was.
"… We're not going to be roboticized." He said to his older brother.
"Pardon me?" Sherrock asked, walking over to Gren, "And why's that?"
Gren then showed him the image of Sonic, then opened up an image of a baby picture of Sonic, which also showed him wearing the same medallion.
"Is…" Sherrock said, mystified, "… Is that…"
Gren nodded.
"This…" He said, "Is one of the very three children that ole' Ivo was afraid of, god rest his soul. And now, here he is, running around in plain sight."
Gren blew a puff of smoke from his cigarette.
"This could really save our necks." He continued, "I think it would be wise to take this finding to Emporer Julius himself. With luck, we should be able to avoid being sent to the roboticizer."
Sherrock sighed in relief.
"… Thank god…" He said.
Gren then went and printed out the images of Sonic, then slipped them in a manilla folder, then tucked it under his arm and motioned for his brother to follow him.
The two then went to their now re-built helipad and took a helicopter to Julius' palace top tell him of their findings…
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Prowess Manor
A little later…
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
After he and Sonia hung out with Sonic and Manic, Jake then led her to his aunt's manor, taking her to his 'room' which was essentially an attic room that he and his brother Tails shared.
It was a little dirty and dank-looking; large cobwebs hung from the walls and corners of the room, mold and mildew grew on some parts of the walls, and the floor creaked on some parts. Nonetheless, Jake and his brother had managed to decorate it a little; Various posters of rock and metal bands, airplanes, movies, cartoons and animes decorated the walls, covering over the mold and mildew, there was a makeshift desk made of plywood planks and cinderbricks lay on one end of the room, with a Windows computer on it bearing a flatscreen monitor, a high-tech keyboard, a wireless mouse, and a webcam, a shelf made of plastic milk crates held books of all sorts on it, a toybox on Tails' side of the room held various old toys that the two brothers managed to take with them from their old home, such as action figures, a bucket of plastic army men, a box of legos, a toy spaceship, various hot wheels and micro machines cars here and there, a rubix cube with a sticker missing, a GI Joe Doll, a jet, jeep and tank that went with some of the aforementioned action figures that all were missing quite a few parts on each, and a toy battle robot that was missing parts as well, a small TV with a Super Nintega hooked up to it placed upon another makeshift shelf made of plastic milk crates that held all the games they owned and managed to bring them with them when they moved, and of course, in the corner was Jake's guitar, his amplifier, a songwriting book and a music stand.
"This is you and your brother's room?" Sonia asked, disgusted, "This is the kind of place you'd expect Harry Potter to grow up in!"
"My Aunt Chloe never liked me or my brother," Jake explained, sitting down on his bed, "So when me and him were dumped on her doorstep, she tried to distance herself from us as much as she could since we weren't originally aristocratic, as well as because of my Brother's twin tails. She wouldn't even let us dine with her at first, either; All our meals living here for the first few years were brought up to us, and even then they were mostly stuff that was left over, or even just stuff that had been lurking in the back of the fridge. Sometimes, if we did something to anger her or our uncle, she would lock us up here without anything. Of course, most of the time, Tails got the worst of my aunt, as whenever he upset her, she would lock him either in the basement or the stair cupboard without dinner."
"That's awful!" Sonia exclaimed, angrily, "How could they possbily live with themselves for this?"
"Quite easily, actually." Jake replied, "Like I said before, the only reason they're pushing this marriage on us is because they need the money. My Uncle Marrick has always been known to do some pretty underhanded buisness with people from time to time, and would often pay money from his and my aunt's own pockets in bribes and deals. So now, they need the extra money, so that's why they're making me marry you… But…"
Jake took Sonia's hands in his own.
"I love you for you." He told her, "Not for your money. Hell, I'd even give all the money I'd get for marrying you away. The money means nothing to me. It's all just pieces of printed paper. It can never buy me the happiness I get from being with you."
Sonia was moved by Jake's words.
"Oh, Jake…" She said.
She then got down and began to kiss him, making him fall back on the bed as they did so. As they kissed, the began to undress a little, Jake taking off his shirt, and Sonia her top and leggings. The two then eventually made their way onto Jake's bed all the way, then held each other as they kissed. However, as Jake began to undo the latch on Sonia's bra, she then stopped kissing, then sat back up.
"What's wrong?" Jake asked, sitting up as well.
"… I changed my mind." Sonia answered, "I don't want to have sex with you. Not yet, at least."
"Okay." Jake replied, "Why?"
Sonia sighed, putting her top and leggings back on.
"It's still too soon." She explained, "I'd rather we were married first."
She then took Jake's hands in her own and looked him in the eyes.
"Jake… You're a sweet guy." She continued, "Really, you are. But I just don't want to have sex until we're married. I just wouldn't seem right to me. Please understand."
Jake nodded.
"I understand." Jake responded, "And you're right. It wouldn't be right for us to have sex before we're married."
"Thank you." Said Sonia.
She then planted a kiss on Jake's cheek, then got back up and walked towards the stairs to the attic room.
"I'll see you later I guess." She said.
Jake nodded.
"I guess so." He replied, "remember, tomorrow night. The gig. Practice well!"
Sonia nodded, smiling.
"I will." She said.
She then walked down out of his room, leaving him for the day.
The brownish-orange fox then laid back down on his bed, gazing up at the ceiling, daydreaming of the day he would marry Sonia.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Julius Robotnik's palace.
That same moment…
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
"…. So you see, sire." Sherrock said, as Julius looked over the images of Sonic, "The Queen's eldest son has been out there fighting us the entire time, running around completely under our noses."
"I see." Julius said, continuing to compare the two images of Sonic, "It is a very striking resemblence…"
He then looked back at Sherrock and Gren.
"And just why…" He asked, "… Do you assume I care about some hedgehog prince?"
"Well, your father-" Sherrock began.
"My father…" Julius interrupted, closing the folder, "Was a superstitious, paranoid fool. He feared a fairy tale that held neither plausebility, nor proof. If the legend was as real as he believed, then why hasn't it come true yet?"
"Because…" said a voice that came from almost nowhere, "It has only just begun…"
The Oracle then appeared in front of him.
"Who are you?" Julius demanded.
Sherrock then pulled out his Walther P38 pistol, pulled on the slide and aimed it sideways at the Oracle.
"Dead is who he is!" He bellowed.
However, the Oracle simply raised his hand towards Sherrock, and suddenly the general's hand holding the pistol brought the barrel of the gun under his chin of it's own accord, making him go wide-eyed with shock.
"Calm yourself." The Oracle told him.
He then walked over to Julius, then went on.
"I am the Oracle of Delphius." He introduced, "And, I have come to you to tell you that the prophecy has already begun to fulfill itself."
"You mean that silly fairy tale my father feared so much?" Julius scoffed, "Don't make me laugh."
"Surely you've seen the signs." The Oracle responded, "Even now, the three siblings constellation is growing brighter in the night sky, and not only that, but the three Children of Aleena, and their two protectors, have already met up with one another, and it is only a matter of time before they are ready to meet up with their mother, and fulfill their destiny.
"Your father feared this legend because he knew it would mean the end of his tyrannical reign of terror, and you should also fear it for the same reason, too. Your reign of Terror and enslavement shall soon reach it's end, for the prophecy is real, and it will come true. I am certain of this."
Julius stood there, his eyes shrunk as he realized that the Oracle might in fact be right.
He had seen the constellation in the sky a lot lately, and did notice it was growing brighter with each passing night…
Then Scales came to him and told him he'd found Aleena's daughter nestled away amongst the Aristocrats…
And now his head General and Regional Boss of the Greenleaf Village area told him of the Queen's eldest son's existance…
"It's a lot to take in, isn't it?" the Oracle questioned, "I suppose I shall leave you to your eventual end."
The Oracle then teleported away, making Sherrock's hand move freely again.
"Sire…" Said Sherrock, putting his pistol away, "What do we do?"
Julius was silent.
"… Sire?" Sherrock asked again.
Julius then regained his composure, then spoke.
"General…" He said, "… I want you and your brother to find as many of the most skilled, most deadly, most proficient Bounty Hunters, assassins, mercenaries, anyone who can hunt and kill without hesitation, and bring them to me. We are going to hunt down these children, and we are going to wipe them out before they can fulfill any prophecie. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, Sire." Sherrock responded, bowing, then making the salute, "Heil Robotnik!"
Julius nodded.
"Heil." He replied.
The two Regional bosses then left the room, going off to find as many contract killers and trackers as they could.
Julius simply stood there, still shaken from the truth of the legend.
It's true, then… He thought, The legend… It's real… My father was… Right…
To be continued…
