Hi all. So as I said last chapter I really do want to complete some of my stories. I just been busy and had writers block but I will hopefully eventually finish them.

This chapter is for thehopefulone who said Ted was being mean. I called a young nurse who is caring for him "Hope" to acknowledge you as well. You basically call him out on his actions. I don't know how nurses work so just assume she's allowed to sit with him all night and talk. It's a fictional story.

A few days passed and then it became a week later since Robin stormed out of his room angrily. Ted had to admit, even if it was just to himself, he had hoped they'd return because they felt sorry for him.

Ted kept his gaze on the door all day. Unfortunately, the only person who had any pity for him was the nurse who was caring for him.

"Hope?" Ted called out to her. She looked to him in shock as he hadn't spoken since Robin had left last Saturday.

"Hello Mr. Mosby, I thought you weren't going to ever speak to another human ever again?" she questioned with a mischievous smile. He gave her a small one back. "You heard me mutter that after Robin left huh?" he asked.

Hope gave a small nod. "I heard your conversation from the next room. I didn't want to interfere though as its none of my business" she replied.

Ted gave a small dramatic sigh. "Okay, I guess it isn't fair to involve you in my problems" he said.

Hope sat down in a chair beside his bed. "I guess it wouldn't hurt. It's not as though you can move for a while and you must be getting lonely now without anyone to talk with" she said.

Ted gave her a nod with an appreciative smile. "I am, thanks for taking pity on your jerky patient." he replied. Hope just tensed up a little and remained quiet.

"What? You can say it Hope, I won't get mad" Ted prompted.

Hope gave a small sigh and then took a little breath. "I'm not trying to offend you Mr. Mosby but you were a little bit harsh with your friends last week" she said.

Ted didn't answer and after a moment the young nurse stood. "I knew I should have kept quiet, please forgive me Mr. Mosby" she said hurriedly.

"Don't leave" he says with a little bit of force to his voice. She sits back down and he closes his eyes.

"Mr. Mosby?" Hope calls out when he doesn't speak a few minutes later. He opens his eyes and gazes at her with a very sad look.

"The blond man who was here tells me he's my very best friend" he begins and she gives a nod.

"I see, he must be a great one then the way he kept hurrying to you with different foods and drinks" she commented.

Ted gave a shrug but then realizing that wouldn't work he rolled his eyes instead. "I guess so" he said.

"Why are you so upset and bitter Mr. Mosby?" Hope asks.

"He slept with her, that girl I shouted with" he said bitterly.

"Ex girlfriend?" Hope asked and he gave a tiny nod. "I saw her first in the bar and I wanted to be with her. Robin is a very amazing woman Hope and I saw that all in one glance" he said.

"Mr. Mosby…"

"Please stop calling me that Hope. My name is Ted" Ted interrupted.

"Okay, Ted…"

"Don't say it obviously wasn't true love since we broke up" he snapped and Hope shut her mouth.

"Sorry" he said quickly. "I know you're right Hope. We dated a year after I made Robin see she should date me. At first it was amazing as I knew it would be but…then…"

"Then you get to know the person and you realize it's only puppy love. I've had that happen to me" Hope ended.

"I still think I love her though" Ted said.

"But I'm guessing the blond man got in the way" she replied.

"It happened a little over two weeks ago" Ted began and when he looked to Hope he saw she was interested.

"I guess for you to understand I need to feel you some info first. Robin's last name is Scherbatsky and she was born in Canada. The blonde's name is Barney Stinson and he found out Robin was a Canadian pop star" Ted told her.

She gave a small nod. "I'm going to take a random guess and say the other male who was here made some bet with him about Robin" she said.

"If you lose this job you should write detective novels, you'd make good money" was his reply and she chuckled. "Yes, Marshall and Lily were the other two who visited. I met them both in college" he added.

"Okay, so this bet happened while we were dating. Barney wanted us to go the mall one day for something and Robin panicked. Long story cut short that all of us wanted to find out why so the guys bet and we soon saw the video of Robin Sparkles" Ted said.

He looks to her and see she's a bit confused. "Don't worry, I needed to tell you that so you'd understand how this fight got started and how I ended up here in this bed" he said.

She gives a nod and he looks back to the ceiling to think. "So now we know about Robin. But this fight didn't happen till just a couple of weeks ago when Robin saw her first ex. I think you'll know what happens next" he said.

"She met him when she was Sparkles and tried to rekindle that. It backfired on her and she is heartbroken again"

"Correct" he said. "I guess its my fault but you have to understand that Robin doesn't show emotion like a lot of women do. She keeps it bottled inside her because she hates to be weak"

"So then it was Barney who comforted her instead of you and you're angry because he took what you loved" Hope said.

Ted gave a small sigh. "Yeah, Barney is a player and even has a book of plays he performs to get women into bed" he said. She gave a small look of disgust which made Ted feel a little better.

"I know but that's Barney for ya. He and I met in the urinal and he tried a play on me to see if it would work and he loved I fell for it. He then sits beside me in my booth and tells me he's going to teach me how to live. He then became my friend and….yeah it'll take all night to explain that" he said.

Hope gave a little chuckle. "That's okay Ted, I can get the picture" she said.

She then cleared her throat. "It doesn't explain why you exploded to Robin last week and made Barney your servant boy" she said.

"But…"

She held up a hand. "I get the story Ted" she told him. "A couple of weeks ago you found out they hooked up and you got angry"

"Robin told me and that wasn't why I was angry" he replied.

"Then why…"

"Because Barney Stinson is an ass and I hated that he wouldn't just fess up to me!" Ted snapped. "Even when I confronted him in the limo he rented on my birthday! He was just going to take me out and never tell me what he did!" Ted cried.

"Calm down Ted"

"Then don't judge me Hope! That little weasel could have been sorry but no he had to joke about it! He doesn't care about me!"

"If that was true bro I wouldn't have even made you my bro in the first place" a new voice cuts in.

"You must be Barney" Hope says and he nods. "I'll leave you to…" she adds and he stops her from leaving.

"No, you stay with him beautiful. Ted's going to need you as he and I are no longer friends" Barney says and walks out.

"Marshall…" Ted calls when Marshall and the girls pop in after Barney storms off.

"I finally convinced them to come see you and make up Ted. Why do you have to keep making this so difficult?" he asked.

"Robin…" Ted tries and she just shakes her head. "I came because I realized Marshall was right. You're here hurt and alone and I felt guilty. But Ted I heard everything you said to Hope and I am sorry you feel so betrayed but you're just being a jerk and I won't stand for that" she said.

"Please wait!" he cries. He shoots Marshall and Lily a pleading look. His best friend sighs but lifts Robin and places her in Hope's chair.

"You promised you'd stay least five minutes" he tells her and she sticks her tongue out at him.

"We'll give you a little privacy" Lily says and the three leave the room and close the door.

Robin folds her arms and glares at Ted.

"I'm sorry Robin" he begins. She just stares at him a moment before responding.

Next chapter is her response. Had to leave some suspense but I hope you all enjoyed Ted's reasoning. This chapter though is what I think How I Met your Mother was really about. It's Ted's journey to Tracy that's true but really it was just about him trying to let Robin go. Of course then the finale tells us oh yeah Ted can't ever let go so in end Tracy dies and Robin and Barney divorce so they will be together forever. It's kinda bittersweet.
