"Put me down! I am a grown man Marshall!" Barney was screaming when Marshall walked in with him. Robin followed and smiles at Ted.
"Relax Stinson" he said finally as he put him in a chair. "Ted asked Robin to find you and she and I both knew you'd fuss" he adds.
"Do you blame me Marshall?" Barney hissed.
"No, but Ted wanted to apologize and since he's going to be the mummy man for a few more weeks I decided to cut him slack" he responds.
"Thanks buddy" Ted calls out and Marshall nods. "Be nice though Ted or you won't have any visitors till you're casts come off" he warns.
"Yes daddy" Ted answers and Marshall rolls his eyes. He walks out and Robin follows. He does leave the door open a crack to listen.
Barney folds his arms with a pout. "Stupid Marshall" he mutters.
"Don't be mad at him Barney" Ted calls to him. Barney rolls his eyes and Ted sighs. "I mean it Barney, he and Lily have been trying to be the peacemakers in our stupid fight"
"You're the one who ended it Ted" Barney points out.
"Because you made me mad" Ted responds.
"I was trying to give you a great birthday and you threw a fit. You also punched me in the balls and then you had to take it further and tell me I was no longer your friend" Barney replies coolly.
Ted gives a small sigh. "I know and I'm sorry for being such a jackass to you since my birthday"
Barney gives a huff and only pouts more.
"I really am Barney" Ted tries again. Barney just rolls his eyes and continues to pout like a toddler.
"Okay fine, I take back my apology then" he says.
"You can't do that Ted" Barney says and Ted gives a tiny grin. "Ha, I got you to speak again" he says.
"Congratulations" Barney huffs.
Ted sighs again. "Please Barney, can we try to act like adults for once and talk about this" he begs.
Barney reluctantly unfolds his arms. "Fine, I guess I was in the wrong for not coming clean about breaking the bro code" he says.
Ted gives a small smile. "Thank you, I really am sorry for pushing this so damn far"
Barney gives a small nod. "Fine, I accept your apology Ted" he says and Ted looks surprised.
"Really?" he asks and Barney nods. "You're right Ted. I am just acting like a baby now when you're the one who got hurt emotionally and physically. I just want to put this behind us and be friends again"
"We can't be friends Barney" Ted says and Barney looks hurt. "Ted…" he says and then stands. "Fine…" he adds and goes to leave.
"We can't be friends because we're family Barney. You and I are brothers and this was all just a stupid long fight" Ted calls to him.
"You mean that?" Barney asks as he turns back around.
"Yeah, you and Marshall will always be my brothers just as Lily and Robin will always be my sisters" he responds.
"Thanks bro" Barney says and gives Ted a very gentle hug. "When you can use your body again you and I are going to have one very legendary night on the town" he says.
"I look forward to that" Ted answers. He knew then he meant it. He couldn't be without his four best friends, life was short and Ted was determined to make his life count every second.
