A/N: Hello my fans or new readers, just know, that I am back, I sorry for two things this chapter, one, for disappearing for such a long time. Two, for this chapter being so short, honestly, I kept on trying to find a way to extend it beyond useless filler, but I couldn't manage it. So anyway, I am sorry, please enjoy the chapter, and just know that I really don't plan on disappearing for so long.
Chapter II: Reuniting
Nearly a half hour after the woman known as Vixa had put both Raven and Jinx under what Cera described as a pheromone boost, the effects of it wore down, allowing them to travel again. So now, Raven and Jinx were now riding atop of two large creatures, rivaling a horse in size that bore a resemblance that greatly related to wolves. Only these beast eyes glowed crimson and a black smoke like substance seemed to constantly poor out of random parts of the beast's body. In front of the two women, was Cera, riding on an even larger creature. One large bull like horns protruding it's skull in a manner that would greatly worry anyone that stood in front of the beast. Raven looked around her surroundings, because soon after the left the forest that they had arrived in, they were met with the sight of buildings with similar designs as European gothic designs. So far, Raven found that this city greatly resembled a city in the renaissance, but without the putrid air that would normally waft around such a place. The dark Titan found herself truly fascinated by the things she saw, carriages being pulled by spectral horses with glowing white mains. It seemed that every time their hooves touched the ground, frost covered the stone and then melted when the creature's hoof left. In the sky above, Pegasus' and Griffins soared through the clouds, a few of them pulling chariots with a single person manning it.
"Amazing right?" Cera asked, turning her head back to speak to the two women. "This right here is Olympus, our little paradise" she stated, admiring the few things that had change since the last time she was here.
"It is quite fascinating" Raven replied, staring at the numerous winged creatures in the sky. "Not what I was expecting from a demonic city"
"What did you think it was? all fire and brimstone" Cera replied, laughing at her own joke. "Believe it or not, the demons don't tend to like chaos, their more for absolute order"
"What do you mean?" Jinx asked.
Cera laughed again, "We have some of the strictest laws that you will ever see, and there are damn near no loopholes to exploit. If the Eclipse Guard catch you doing something deemed as illegal, then you're screwed" she said, laughing at the look of surprise on their faces.
After that comment was made, silence over took the three women as they traveled through the demonic city. As the time passed, Raven retrieved the golden medallion from her pocket, still finding its sudden appearance to be quite confusing. She traced over markings on it, finding it haunting her due with her past with the symbol.
"It's cool isn't it?" Cera asked, referring to the medallion that Raven was currently messing with.
"What exactly is it?" Raven asked, responding to the crazed girls question with an inquiry of her own.
Cera looked at the Titan with an amused expression on her face, then, she sat up and smiled at her. "That right there is basically an identifier" she said as she grabbed the one around her neck. "When you enter our little city, any of us half-demons are given one of these for instant identification. Cause around here, no one cares who you are as a person, the only thank that matter is who your parent is"
"So everyone will take one look at me and know that I'm the daughter of Trigon" Raven said almost sadly.
Cera merely chuckled at the woman, gaining a hateful glare from the dark Titan, "well some people maybe" she said once she had calmed down, "but most don't even know his symbol, I only know because my father showed me what it looked like"
Raven looked at the girl with a strong sense of curiosity, "why would your father show you what Trigon's symbol looks like?" she asked, not trusting the blonde enough with having any piece of information about herself.
Cera laughed again before giving Raven a crazed grin, her eyes displaying a disturbing mixture of amusement and insight, "We all have our reason for doing things little Raven" she said, turning to face the front of the creature as the view of a large building could be seen within a slight distance. "Oh good" the blonde said, changing the subject, "were here finally".
Once in front of the building, Cera got down from the hound, prompting the other two to do the same before each beast's body faded into dark masses of smoke, each one merged into one solid mass before it faded into the ground. Whilst the two were distracted with the sight, the blonde was already walking towards the tall building with large marble columns holding the weight of the roof. Upon noticing that neither girl was paying attention to her, Cera called out to them, forcing the two outsiders to follow the woman into the buildings. Entering the building, the trio was immediately met with walls that consisted entirely of bookshelves filled with heavy tomes pressed against each other in an orderly fashion.
Ignoring the looks that she received from some of the occupants of the room, Cera walked towards the front desk were a man dressed in thick white robes sat with his head buried into a book. The pressed the button on the quaint bell that sat on the top of the white marble desk top. The man looked up with an annoyed glare, his hair tousled from lack of care and his bright golden eyes appearing red from the strain of constant reading. His annoyed demeanor changed slightly when noticing who the blonde was, switching to one of exhaustion.
"I see that your back" he said with a sigh, placing the red ribbon attached to the book in between the pages he was on before closing the book, "Interesting that you're in the library though" he added, looking perplexed as he glanced at the two women behind the blonde.
"Oh, this is Raven and the other one is Jinx" she said, introducing the two in order to answer the man's silent question. Another look from him made her sigh, "There here as cultist" she stated sarcastically, "obviously they have something to do with me, get off my back"
Ignoring the woman, he looked towards the two. "Greetings, what is the purpose of entering Prometheus's library?" he asked, looking at the two in annoyance and curiosity. At the name, Jinx and Raven alike became slightly shocked at learning the owner of the building that they were inside.
Cera only smiled at the demon, "certainly not to visit you" she answered, "they need to find someone, and I know that your books can help"
For what seemed like the longest time, the man merely stared at her, appearing to try to see what was going on inside of the blonde woman's head, it seemed that the attempt proved futile when he released a tired sigh. "Go on then" he stated, "just find a guide, I don't want you ruining anything"
With a satisfied smile, Cera stepped away from the desk in front of her and gestured for both Jinx and Raven to go up the stairs to the second floor. Now in front of the crazed woman, the two sorceresses' looked upon the vast amount of bookshelves that lined the walls of the building. Not noticing what was going on behind them, Cera chuckled lightly as she turned the corner to enter a narrow hallway, leaving the two foreigners alone. Raven, not knowing what had just occurred, appeared rather impress with the collection of filled the inside of the building, and if she weren't in this world for a specific purpose, she would delve deeper into the library to see what knowledge lay upon its shelves. Jinx on the other hand, seemed more interested in the people that wandered within the building. The pink haired ex-villain turned around, intent on asking their guide questions about the library that they were in. But much to her annoyance, she found that the blonde wasn't there, merely the view of seemingly endless rows of books that sat on the shelves.
"Dammit!" Jinx said with her brows furrowed in anger as she quickly looked around for the blonde in false hope that the odd half demon was merely hiding from them. Yet, each place that she looked proved to be unfruitful when all that she found was more books and an occasional person looking at the literature.
Raven turned as she heard Jinx curse allowed, "What is it?" she asked, watching the ex-villainess look for whatever she was searching for.
"That insane blonde left" Jinx answered, annoyed at having been left in a place that was unfamiliar to her.
Anger set into Raven as she sighed in irritation, for while she expected something like this to happen, she rather it not to had occurred so soon. "We need to find someone else to lead us around" Raven stated calmly, "it wouldn't be wise to get lost in this world".
"Really now, I was just to go running through the city blindly" Jinx responded sarcastically, which Raven rolled her eyes at before turning back around and carried on, hoping to find some other, hopefully kind, resident of the demonic city.
During their search, a soft singing voice began to fill the air as they followed along the walkways at random. "Through removing my soul, I become two, by removing my heart we become one. I shut of my mind so I don't know what to do, and I blind myself so I can't see what I've done" The voice sang, making the odd song sound sweet purely because of the gentleness of the voice. To Raven, it seemed very familiar. Her pace quicken as she followed the voice as it repeated the chorus of the song, leaving Jinx to call after her as she walked faster to keep up with the dark Titan. Turning the corner, Raven suddenly stopped, leaving Jinx to run into her. Backing up, the pink haired woman was about to ask her companion what was wrong with her. But then, like her 'friend' she was silenced by the sight before her.
Before them, was a relatively short figure, shorter than most in the library. The person was wearing a long hooded cloak, one that appeared much like the people that had walked through the odd portal with them, but unlike theirs, the cloak was a light grey, a color that none of the cloaks that they had saw prior it shared. The singing had died down to a soft hum that filled the silence as the person would grab a book from the stack that floated next to her and place it in an empty space on the shelves. A sudden action to catch a book that nearly fell to the ground then ended a soothing sound, leaving only a panicked gasp as a pale hand reached for the object.
The sudden action made the hood of the cloak move slightly, exposing the white hair trapped inside. Raven suddenly approached the woman, touching her shoulder to get her attention. Leading to the person whipping her head towards the hero in shock, revealing the familiar face of the woman that had disappeared two prior. For several minutes, everything was completely silent, both shocked by seeing each other after so long to speak. Raven's inner thoughts were in inner turmoil, she argued with herself whether she should feel overjoyed at finding Jezebel, or angry that she had left without warning in the first place. Raven eventually went with the former, showing her joy by crashing her lips against her lover's.
The white haired woman let off a light gasp before she sighed into the kiss, her arms naturally wrapping around ravens neck as she pressed herself closer to the woman. The loving embrace carried on for a few minutes before Jinx pretended to clear her throat, reminding the hero of her existence. Because of that, Jezebel quickly realized where they were, breaking there embrace and staring at Raven with an expression of shock. "What are you doing here?" the woman asked.
Raven went to answer the question, but for some reason felt that she was tongue tied. She was just so overwhelm with joy that it took her all her might to keep the tears welling up in her eyes from spilling. So instead, Jinx answered the question for her, "We're here to get you and your sister" then something clicked in the sorceress' mind that seemed to cause a sparkle of excitement filled her violet eyes. "Wait, do you know where Pandora is?" she asked quickly, to eager to know the answer to speak calmly.
For a second, Jezebel's expression seemed to become sad in nature, but it was quickly replaced with worry, "I-I am not sure" she stuttered, "but you two need to leave, it's not safe for you to remain here" she stated.
Those words seemed to have awoken Raven from her silence, "we're not leaving" she stated with confidence, before the white haired woman could attempt to speak, Raven interrupted her, "not without you and your sister" she added, her tone showing that there would be no changing her mind, this was supported by Jinx crossing her arms, staring at the young half demon.
Jezebel bit the nail of her thumb; feeling slightly frustrated at both the Jinx and Raven's stubbornness, which intresting enough was one of the traits she considered to be endearing on the woman. "Fine" she stated, "but you have to promise me that you'll both be careful" she demanded, to which the both nodded to. "Alright, like I said, I don't know where my sister is, but I know where to look" she stated as she made a gesture for the two of them to follow her as she walked past them, towards the entrance of the massive library, "how did you two even get here?" she asked, and in response, the two women began to explain the events that lead them to the library.
(Somewhere else)
As the sun began to set, filling the sky with an array of colors. A lone woman sat on the tall grass that gently blew in the light breeze that would occasionally come. Her headed was angled so that her long jet black hair covered her face as she stared at the ground, almost hiding the violet sash that covered her eyes if it wasn't for the long tails of the material wafting in the wind. Her arms, covered by the sleeves of a long black jacket weighed down by frosted chains. The same chains from her arms seemed too consisted on the rest of her visage, even going so far as to wrap around her neck a few times.
She was gently humming a song to herself, occasionally mumbling a single nonsensical word. The humming stopped when a voice popped into her head, making her slightly raise her head to attempt to hear the voice better, "it's time" The voice stated, "time to show them what my children can do"
The woman seemed to understand the statement, standing up from her current position, "Yes mother" she stated in a monotone voice while walking forward. Each step she took landed in a pool of blood coming from the bodies of dead creatures. Each body, no matter what the creature, had several slash marks spread violently across their bodies, as well as missing entire limbs that lay in other places along the blood soaked grass. As the woman walked along her path, she dragged a large battle axe behind her by a chain connecting it to her arm, making her appear to be slower due to the weapon occasionally catching on one of the corpses, which forced her to pull it free. During her trek through the field she was in, she soon began to sing a song, singing the words so quietly they were almost a whisper. "Through removing my soul, I become two, by removing my heart we become one. I shut of my mind so I don't know what to do, and I blind myself so I can't see what I've done".
A/N: Again, I find that I should say sorry for how short this chapter is, especially after how long the previous one was. Though, I felt like this was a good place to leave off. And another thing, again, I am sorry for not posting anything in so long, but I am not planning disappearing for so long again, because I am still interested in all this but couldn't find the time. Anyway, I hoped that you enjoyed the chapter, and the next one should be a bit longer.
