"She's free, but it's still not over. You're evil. Update soon will you?' I have a lot of reviews on this story, currently 37, but this one just has to be my favourite. I laughed for a good 20 minutes, because I know if I was reading this story instead of writing it, I'd feel the same way. You have made my day, dear reviewer. And now, as I've said earlier, you are only supposed to get one chapter a week, every Saturday, so telling me to update ASAP only hours after I have posted a chapter is a little pointless, because you already know when the next chapter is coming. xD well, I guess this chapter is early, but oh well. -Admin (aka Amber)
It had been roughly a week since Calleigh had been rescued, and she was utterly back to normal. Bright, perky smile, bubbly personality. Good old Cal. She could pull through anything. Eric was thinking to himself while he watched her from his lab. He saw her reach for her cell phone, calmly read the message, and return the phone to her pocket. Eric stopped what he was doing and watched her more closely, a deep breath, slightly dazed eyes. She was hiding something. The text message meant more to her than she was letting on. He had never told Calleigh how he could tell when she was stressing over something, but he could. He knew her signs by now. But he couldn't just go over there and ask her about the message, then he'd have to explain that he had been watching her. He decided to wait until she got another text, or she brought it up.
He looked down at his computer screen as it indicated that something had been found, and smiled. An excuse to go talk to Calleigh. He printed off the results and walked down the hall to her lab. "Hey, Cal. Check this out." he said, handing her the piece of paper. She scanned over it quickly. "So there's another suspect to the list now." she sighed, tucking her hair behind her ear. "This case is getting out of hand." she joked, smiling softly at Eric, when her phone once again went off, indicating a text message. She made no move to get it. "Shouldn't you get that? Might be H. Or your dad." he pointed out. She stared at him a second, contemplating making some excuse, but finally sighed and reached for it.
"Does Eric know your dirty little secret? He will soon, if you're not careful. Remember what I told you to do? Do it now."
She read it over three times, then swallowed, and put her phone away, plastering a smile on her face. "Just dad checking in." she lied, but when Eric didn't smile back, she knew he could tell she was bluffing. "Anyway, I have to run and do something. Let me know if you find anything else!" she said cheerily, before walking out of the lab, and downstairs to the evidence locker. The text had instructed her to remove an important piece of evidence, and burn it. She removed the evidence, and drove to an empty parking lot in the middle of no where. She lit a fire, and stood over it. An hour passed, and she still couldn't make herself do it. She took a deep breath, and tried to do as they had said, but she just couldn't do it. "Is this secret worth it?" she asked herself, but before she could contemplate the answer, a text went off. She looked at her phone screen.
'It's to late now. You took to long. They know everything. Turn around, Miss Duquesne."
She didn't need to. The sound of a siren behind her told her that the text wasn't lying. Horatio called out to her. "Calleigh, dont do it." she turned and looked at him, holding the evidence out to him. "I wasn't going to." Horatio took the bag, shaking his head and looking sad as ever. "I wish I could believe that." she raised a brow. "What?" but there was no answer as she was turned around and hand cuffed. After hours of questioning, Calleigh was finally allowed to go home, no charges. She had just set her key down, when a banging sounded on her door. She opened it to find a fuming Eric on the other side. Apparently he hadn't heard that she had already explained everything to the cops. "Stetlar?!" he was yelling already. "You were selling us out to STETLAR?!"
"what? No! I wasn't!" she was trying to explain, but Eric was to mad to listen.
"So you fuck a guy, and sell the lab out to him, huh? I thought we were family!"
We are!" she finally slapped a hand over his mouth so she could talk. "Not that I am screwing Stetlar, because I'm not, but if I was, it would be none of your business. And secondly, I did NOT sell out the lab to him, he was training me because I was considering a promotion to Stetlar's department. The person that texted you those things was my kidnapper, I don't know what that has to do with Stetlar, but they've been threatening to out a secret of mine since I got back, but they didn't. They were hoping that I would panic and do as they said, rather than giving the evidence back to Horatio. Okay?" she said, removing her hand from over his mouth. He nodded slowly, having calmed down. "So.. so you're not dating Stetlar?" "No!" she cried, making a disgusted face. He laughed. "good. That means I can get away with this." he said before kissing her softly, and as the kiss deepened, he pinned her against the wall, and boy did he 'get away with it'. It was amazing how easy they flowed together. They had slept together a few times before, but every time it still surprised him how it felt like they were made for each other. Every curve lining up perfectly with the other, like two pieces of a puzzle that completed each other.
Do not fear! We aren't done yet! Still a bit more evilness to come! And as I can't write smut scenes, I'll just leave this up to your imagination, but there should be two, maybe three more chapters coming, unless I come up with more ideas to extend it. And I am so sorry with how the format was before! I do not know what that was about. Hopefully I fixed it! -Admin (aka Amber)
