Fabian has learned that the Book of Amun-Ra is the key to finding the Crown of Amun, the ancient artifact of the king of the Egyptian Gods. The Crown is one of four artifacts used on Medinet-Habu to summon Amun-Ra. As Sibuna attempts to crack the code of book Victor's Society attempts to regain the Mask of Anubis while a mysterious group of masked men have just claimed the Cup of Ankh.
"Alright everyone off to school!" Trudy hollered at the residents of Anubis house.
"Just one more Muffin Trudy,"Alfie said stuffing one down his uniform.
"Oh Alfie," KT said as Jerome burst into laughter behind her.
"Alfie don't be such a fool," Jerome chuckled.
Jerome walked over to the stairs to wait for Joy. "Joyless!" he called, "Hurry up we're late." Joy did not answer. "That's odd," Jerome thought. Just then Mara walked by.
"Hey Mara," Jerome said walking out with her, "Have you seen Joy this morning?"
"No I haven't, sorry Jerome," Mara replied.
"Weird," he said, "We usually walk over together."
"Is everything alright between you too?" Mara asked.
"Yea everything is fine I think," Jerome said, "We're are going to dinner tonight with you guys."
"Yes Willow told me," Mara said.
"So?" Jerome smiled, "You and Fabian are a thing now?"
"I don't know," she answered, "Nothing is ever simple with Fabian and this would be the first time we've hung out since the Summer."
"Well this should be a very interesting evening for all of us."
"A bene placito," Mr. Sweet said using his annoying latin phrase, "Good morning class."
"Good Morning ," the class echoed.
"I hope everyone is ready to learn about the wonders of physics," said.
"Certainly Dad," Eddie replied sarcastically.
"Well," said eyeing his son, "To start out I thought I would give you all a test to test your prior knowledge on physics." The class sighed.
"Should be cake," Fabian said shooting Nina a wink. handed the stack of tests to Fabian who passed them back.
"Physics is literally my thing," Nina told Fabian.
"That's good for you too!" Alfie panted, "I didn't even want to take physics!"
"This is physics?" Willow asked.
Mr. Sweet rolled his eyes at them as the door to the class room opened.
"Eric!" Victor said from behind the classroom door.
Nina head lifted up from her test.
"Come out here," Victor said ushering Mr. Sweet from the classroom.
"Continue to work on your tests class I will be back in one moment," Mr. Sweet said going to join Victor. Nina turned around to Fabian.
"You thinking what i'm thinking?" Nina asked Fabian. Fabian smiled and put his pencil down. The two of them crept to the edge of the door to listen in on Victor and .
"Nina, Fabian?" Mick said looking up from his seat. "What are you doing?"
"Umm.."Nina said, "I think I dropped my contacts on the ground. Fabian is just helping me look for them."
"Yes," Fabian said, "We must find Nina's contacts."
"But Nina you don't wear glasses," said Jerome putting down his test.|
"They are my friends contacts," Nina replied sharply pulling Fabian back to the door. They heard Victor begin to speak.
"Its all been arranged." he said hushed. "Gustav Ziestack is meeting us for dinner at the diner in town tonight!"
"And he's bringing the mask with him!" yelled in excitement.
Fabian and Nina exchanged looks of shock.
"Indeed," Victor replied.
"Why ever would he do that?" Mr. Sweet asked.
"I called Mr. Ziestack last night and told him I am convinced the Mask of Anubis he has with the exhibition is the real thing."
"Which we already know it is," said.
"At first Gustav laughed at me, the fool," Victor continued, "But I was able to convince him to come have dinner with us so I can present my 'evidence' to him."
"Hes coming all the way up here just so you can look at the mask?" Mr. Sweet said.
"And at some point during the dinner you will switch our fake mask with the real one!"
"Victor!" replied as if it were absurd, "You expect me to be able to switch the masks from right under Gustav's nose."
"You better be able to Eric!" Victor snarled, "Medinet Habu is approaching and we don't have even one of the relics. We must work fast."
"Alright Victor," Mr, Sweet said, "When is this dinner?"
"Tonight," Victor answered, "Put on your nicest suit." With that Nina and Fabian rushed back to their seats as returned to the classroom.
"They're going to get the Mask of Anubis!" Nina told KT and Eddie as they waited for 's class to begin.
"They are tricking Gustav Ziestack into bring the Mask of Anubis to a dinner they are having with him," Fabian chimed in, "Sweetie is going to swipe it from right under him."
"What can we do about it?" Eddie asked.
"We can go out to eat," Nina answered, "They are going to the diner in town."
"Isn't that where your date with Mara is tonight Fabian?" KT asked.
Nina turned to stare at Fabian.
"Its not a date!" Fabian quickly said. "Willow just wanted me to go out to dinner with her, Alfie, Jerome, and Joy. Its more of a friend thing."
"So while you're on your date with Mara, you and Alfie snag the Mask before Victor does," Eddie concluded. Fabian sighed.
"Just in case you guys don't get the mask," KT said, "I say the rest of us stake out Victor's office tonight so we can do a smash and grab when he gets back." Eddie nodded. Nina was still staring at Fabian.
"Its not a date!" Fabian said again.
"Alright everyone!" Ms. Valentine said walking in with Joy, "Sorry I'm late, lets get class started."
Mick had just finished doing his laps around the school gym.
"Come on Mick," Ms. Robinson called to him, "I got to close the gym up for the day."
"Just have to grab my stuff Miss," he said back. Mick's sports bag was just on the bleachers on the side of the gym.
"Alright make it fast," Ms. Robinson said checking her watch, "I have to be somewhere could you lock up for me on your way out?"
"No problem Miss," Mick told her.
"Thanks Mick," said hurrying out of the gym. Mick picked up his sport bag and went to shut off the lights. He shut them off and turned to head out the door. Someone was standing right in front of him.
"Woah!" Mick yelled jumping back.
"Calm down Mick!" Joy said, "Its just me."
"Jeez Joy," Mick said panting, "You just gave me a heart attack."
"Oh don't be such a baby," Joy said casually, "I was just looking for you."
"Well whats up?" Mick asked.
"Just wanted to make sure you were still coming to the junkyard with me this weekend," Joy said.
"Of Course I already said I would," Mick said, "I don't know why on Earth Ms. Valentine wants you to go there."
"Its some extra credit thing," Joy said.
"Well," Mick said, "Extra credit isn't a bad thing."
"No," Joy continued, "And its something we could both need."
"And Mara probably wants all the extra points she can score up the brainiac," Mick chuckled.
"Exactly," Joy finished, "So we'll be meeting tomorrow afternoon."
"Sounds like a plan," Mick said walking out of the gym with Joy.
School had just ended and Alfie and Jerome returned to Anubis house to get ready for their dinner out tonight.
"I am so going to embarrass Fabian with Mara tonight," Jerome chuckled as he buttoned up his shirt.
"What stuff do you have planned?" Alfie asked intrigued.
"You'll see tonight Alfie my boy," Jerome said.
"Well i'm going with the good old fashioned..." Alfie pulled something out from his drawers, "...whoopee cushion!"
"Don't be so childish Alfie," Jerome said unamused, "Or at least have a little bit more originality."
"I thought it was a good idea," Alfie sighed.
"So what was up with Nina and Fabian in Sweetie's class today?" Jerome asked suspiciously.
"Umm..." Alfie said, "I don't know. Geeks right?"
"Nina looking for another friends contacts?" Jerome said, "That doesn't strike you as odd?"
"For Nina and Fabian no," Alfie said trying to assure Jerome nothing was amiss.
"Guess you have a point there," Jerome said changing his concern to fixing his hair.
Alfie let out a sigh of relief.
Fabian was also getting ready for the dinner tonight in his room.
"So mate!" Mick said from his bed, "You and Mara now huh?"
"Yea Fabian!" Eddie said laughing, "Knew you two would hook up eventually." Fabian rolled his eyes.
"We aren't hooking up," Fabian said sternly, "It isn't even a date really. Willow said..."
"Blah blah blah," Mick said getting up, "Make this simple man. You like her or you don't. If you like her than go for her."
"Captain Australia has got a point," Eddie said pointing at Mick.
"Plus," Mick added patting Fabian on the back, "Shes a really good kisser."
"Thanks for the advice guys," Fabian said.
Unknown to any of the boys in the room, a masked figure lurked outside their bedroom door. The figure smiled.
"He'll do perfectly," the figure muttered under his breath eyeing Fabian.
