Hi guys, really sorry I've not updated for ages, some minor wedding disasters have been eating precious story time.

She knows as she stands outside the court room that he is in there, he and his friends watching the trial and supposedly keeping order. Taking a breath she steadies herself; she has not been this close to him since she tried and failed to kill him at the home they once shared.

I can't kill you this time, but I can destroy you in another way.

She makes her way through the crowd in the court, hearing the Cardinal call for 'Madame de la Chappelle', one of many names she has adopted over time. She watches as Athos ushers the previous witness back through the gate and chooses her moment carefully, slipping behind him. He is so close, she could reach out and touch him and she catches herself before she does.

Now is not the time.

She begins to tell her story, relishing Ninon's shock and horror at her words and feeling that jealous green fire twist in her belly as she works to bring down the woman who would take what is hers. As she speaks she sees the Cardinal's delight as she weaves a tale more corrupt and damning than even his twisted mind could come up with.

"Why are you saying these things?" Ninon sounds hurt and appalled.

Because you tried to take him. He is mine.

As she speaks a voice echoes through the court, a voice she knows all too well, a voice she longs to hear and yet hates with a fiery passion.

"This woman is a liar..." She watches as he rages, carefully schooling her features into delicate shock and feeling a malicious thrill as his friends restrain him.

As she walks out of the court room she cannot help but to meet his eyes, seeing the rage and horror in them and knowing the he sees the vindictiveness of her own gaze. She knows all too well that if his friends and Captain were to let him go then he would kill her without a second thought and the danger she is in only increases the thrill that she feels.

See, my love, watch as I destroy you both. Her first, then you.

Much love to reviewers :-)
