A/N: Surprise! After a long time of waiting, I thought that I really had to make it up to you. So here is another chapter for you to read. Hope you like it and please review. Seeing reviews of my story actually made my day, you're the best!
At the royal chambers, Gaius and Merlin had returned.
"Sire, I'm afraid I have to ask you to wait outside." Gaius insisted while pushing Arthur gently out the door.
"Gaius Guinevere needs me. I can't leave her." Arthur pleaded
"She will be alright Sire." Gaius assured him and pats his shoulder.
Arthur sighed deeply and looked Gaius straight in the eyes, "Please Gaius, make sure she will be."
"Yes Sire." Gaius answered back.
Outside the royal chambers, Arthur saw the knights waiting for him.
"Sire." Sir Leon spoke.
"How is she my lord?" Percival asked.
"She's delivering the child as we speak." Arthur said.
"Do not worry. She is stronger than we all think." Gwaine speaks up.
"I know she is." Arthur assures himself.
As time passes them by, the knights are sitting on the bench nearby and Arthur keeps pacing.
"They're taking too long. Why are they taking too long?" Arthur spoke as he paces back and forth.
"Sire, I'm sure she's fine." Sir Leon spoke.
"I cannot wait any longer." Arthur said.
Just as he is about to barge in, Merlin comes out the door. He nods toward Arthur as if he already knows what is on Arthur's mind. Arthur hurriedly went into their chambers and the knights followed as well.
As Arthur came in, he saw a sleeping child in Guinevere's' arms. Gaius was also present and smiles.
"Congratulations Sire, you and the queen have a male heir." Gaius said softly.
Arthur looks at Gaius and laughs nervously as he comes near to his wife and child. Arthur sits in the edge of the bed next to Guinevere and the sleeping child.
Gaius smiled at the family and whispers to Merlin and the knights who came in late "Come, we should give them time to themselves. Don't worry, all is well." Gaius said as he spread his arms wide to stop the knights from intruding along with Merlin. With this, they left the chambers leaving the king and queen with their child.
Arthur lays his forehead on Guinevere's and closed his eyes "I told you it'll be alright didn't I?" he asks her softly as he slowly opens his eyes to look at her and soothes her arms.
Guinevere sighs deeply and smiles "I did not doubt you at all." She said and laid her head on his shoulder " What should we name him Arthur?" she asks as she soothes the baby's little hands.
"Well I would think it fair if you and I give him a name." Arthur smiles.
Guinevere lifts her head from Arthur and sits up carefully "Very well. I would like to name him of my father, Thomas. Will that be alright?" she asks intently not knowing of what Arthur would feel.
Arthur smiles and caresses the hand of Guinevere holding the child's hand "Of course, I respect what you choice and I have no ill feelings for your father."
Guinevere smiles "And what will you name him?"
After a moment, he answers "I'm rather fond of the name Gwydre. What do you think?" he looks into her eyes.
"I think it's perfect." Guinevere said as she leant her head on his shoulder.
"Then it's settled," Arthur puts his arm around his wife, soothing her "In a few days, we will announce the heir to the throne, Prince Gwydre Thomas of Camelot. It's a good combination isn't it?" he looks at his wife caressing their child in her arms.
"Hmm yes, he will be a great prince and a greater king when the time comes." Guinevere looks turns to Arthur.
"I'm sure he will be. Because you and I will be there to guide him everyday." Arthur said as he caresses her cheek and kisses her "You and I together."
Guinevere smiles and leans her head back on Arthur's shoulder.
They have nothing more to say than just enjoy the feeling they have right now: a contentment in each other's arms with their child.
