Today is a good day for me. I'm six months sober, and Kaiya is officially 18 months old. Kagome told me that after the second year you stop counting by months. I can't believe my daughter is going to be turning two soon!
Summer went by so fast. Kagome and I took Kaiya to the beach many times. It was nice to go out in public and not be paranoid about what people thought of me. Not only that but I was back to my old self, probably even better. I work out every day, and everywhere we went I was the best looking guy. Talk about a self esteem boost. I also noticed that I had the most beautiful woman by my side, no matter where we were.
Kagome started school a couple of weeks ago, so every morning after I leave for work she's on her way to drop Kaiya off at Rin's for babysitting. Her classes end and she picks the baby up and gets home before I do. We have a really good thing going, where we each get time to do what we want every day. When I get home from work Kagome starts on dinner, while watching the baby. That's when I have my alone time. I get about an hour and I always use it to exercise. I run for the first twenty minutes, and then do strength training for the next twenty to half hour. After that I quickly rinse off and change into comfortable clothes; just in time for dinner.
Kagome is amazing. She's such a great cook. I guess she and Rin have this thing where every couple of months they take a cooking class together. She manages to have an amazing dinner set up with Kaiya in her high chair ready to eat by the time I'm in the dining area.
After dinner I always wash the dishes. She'll take Kaiya until I'm done, and then once everything in the kitchen is clean its Kagome's time to herself.
We have an agreement that she gets two hours uninterrupted. Depending on how long it takes her to do her homework sometimes she just takes a bubble bath or does her nails. Other times she'll have so much homework that it takes three hours. I never complaint though. It's not like I have anything better to do, I'm proud of Kagome. I've put her through hell in the last couple of years. I'd stay up all night watching the baby if she needed me to. Thankfully, Kaiya has a bedtime. So once the clock hits nine, nine thirty I'm home free.
Usually though, Kagome and I will spend an hour of family time together, before Kaiya goes to sleep, and we always put her to bed together.

I want to say we fuck at least four to five days a week. And weekends are my favorite for that, because Saturdays I only work half a day, Sundays I'm off. Work went by smoothly today, Sesshomaru congratulated me on my sixth months and he let me leave early. Then when I got home and finished my workout, Kagome had just walked in the door with Kaiya.
"Hey," I said, walking around to greet them.
"Hey yourself," she smiled, but backed away. "You're all sweaty! Go take a shower." Her hand waved me away.
I just smirked and gave our daughter a kiss before heading up the stairs. Walking into my bedroom I grabbed a pair of comfortable clothes and laid them on the bed for when I was done washing up. Kagome and I still had our own rooms, but we slept together every night, whether it would be in her room or mine.
When I was almost done in the shower I heard the click of my bathroom door. I smoothed my hair back and wiped the water off my face. Then I opened the shower curtain to find Kagome standing naked in front of me.
"Whoa," I breathed.
She smiled and blushed. "Kaiya is watching her favorite TV show in your room. I figured this would be a nice treat to congratulate you on your six months."
"Well then," I smirked, pulling aside the curtain even more, "come on in." I love this woman.
Kagome's blush spread as she looked away and gingerly stepped into the tub.
"It's hot!" she said, all of her inhibitions disappeared as the water burned her skin. She lifted her hands to try to keep the water from landing on her.
"No it's not, it feels good." I laughed, moving my body into the stream of the water, protecting her.
"Turn it down, my skin is going to burn."
I sighed, reaching to the knob, lowering the water temperature.

Kagome walked out wearing a towel and a smile.

Across the hall I found Kagome, she was sitting in front of a mirror doing her makeup.
"What are you getting all done up for?" I asked.
"We're going out to dinner tonight," she answered, looking at me through the reflection.
"Good to know." I nodded and then looked at the girl in my arms. "I guess I'll change Kaiya's clothes since she's got shit all over her shirt." She obviously should have been wearing a bib with whatever she was eating earlier.
"Inuyasha!" Kagome turned around to glare at me. "Language!"
"Relax," I waved her off with one hand. "I said a whole sentence; I doubt she'll learn the one bad word in it." I could hear Kagome's voice as I left and went into the hallway.
"Don't underestimate her. She's your daughter, and she takes after you more than you realize."
I smirked as Kaiya and I entered the pink bedroom. I placed her on the floor gently and started to dig through her closet for an outfit. This child had way too many clothes.
"You can be like me, cause I'm pretty bad ass," I told Kaiya. "Just be like your mom when it comes to decision making." I thought for a moment and then added, "But have better judgment than she did when it comes to guys."
I continued to scavenger through her clothes but paused what I was doing and looked at the little girl.
"Actually," I frowned, "no boyfriends. Bring one home and I'll kill him. You can date when you're married."
She just smiled at me and stuck her thumb in her mouth.
I hurried to get her changed and then we went back to Kagome's room. She had just finished her makeup and hair.
Kagome turned around to greet us with a smile and then frowned as Kaiya walked into the room.
"What?" I asked. She gave me a blank stare and shook her head. A small smile formed upon her lips.
"What is she wearing Inuyasha?" Kagome put her hands on her hips and sighed.
"Clean clothes!" I defended. Kagome shook her head.
"She has way cuter clothes than that, I want her to look nice for everyone." Kagome walked past us and into the baby's room.
Kaiya and I both followed her.
"Everyone?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest. "You want to tell me what the plans are for tonight?"
Kagome shrugged and spoke to me while going through the closet.
"Just a few loved ones meeting us all for dinner at a nice restaurant to celebrate you behaving better than ever for longer than ever."
I gave her a half smile, even though she wasn't looking. I glanced down at my own attire. I was dressed for comfort, thinking we wouldn't be going anywhere when I planned my outfit.
"I guess I'll put some nicer clothes on then."
We met everyone at the restaurant and I was feeling pretty lucky to have such great people there to support me. Sesshomaru, Rin, Tomaru, my father, Miroku, Sango, Myoga, and Kagome. All great people who never lost faith in me.
During the outing, Sesshomaru announced that I'd finally be getting promoted and awarded my own office. That included a door with my name on it and my own personal secretary; and let's not forget that hefty raise. Screw my inheritance money, by the time I get that I'll have made my own fortune. Well, as long as I keep the momentum going.
It felt really good to know that I was going to be able to give my daughter what my parents gave me. I also wanted to give Kagome the world on a silver platter, because after everything she'd gone through with me she deserved it and more.
After the dinner was over Kagome was talking to Sango while Miroku, Sesshomaru and my father said their goodbyes.
I quickly pulled Rin aside as she walked out of the bathroom from changing Tomaru's diaper.
"Rin, I need a favor."
