Listening to awesome music while writing this makes it wayyyy more fun

Note: Please be aware that Chelsea is gonna curse a bit because, you know, danger

Disclaimer: We own nothing…. Well, except Chelsea, Reece and Roxy. Who are the main points of the story… Which means we own everything! MUAHAHAHA! (But seriously, we don't own anything, especially not the song lyrics)

Chelsea's POV:

Should I use my heart or my head?

I wish that I could just replay the thoughts

Of things I never sai-

I bolted upright, jolted awake by the song now blasting through my ear buds, stifling a scream. That's the problem with falling asleep with shuffle on – some songs are louder than others, and this one was loud. I paused the song and tucked my ear buds behind my ears. I stood and stretched, and my eyes fell on Roxy still curled up by the fire. I wondered by Reecie Cups hadn't woken her up yet, then I turned and noticed that he wasn't there.

What the hell?

I walked over to where I had last seen him, but there was no sign of Reece anywhere. I got this weird feeling in the pit of my stomach, the same one I did when we got when we fought those stupid hellhounds at the airport. I looked up at the sky and saw that it was still nighttime, but that the sky was lighter than it had been before – it must've been close to dawn.

I walked back over to Roxy and shook her awake as gently as I could, trying not to disturb her injured hand too much. She rolled over and after a moment she opened her eyes.

"What?" she asked, sitting up and stifling a yawn.

"How's your hand?" I asked, trying to keep it as nonchalant as possible so she wouldn't flip. Even though I needed her help, having her freak out would not be a good thing.

"Good." She moved it a bit. "Really good, actually." I helped her stand and she looked around. "Where's Reece?"

"I….have no idea."

She facepalmed. Nice to see her using her hand again. "Seriously? Where did he go?"

"Hell if I know. He was gone when I woke up."

"Great..." she muttered. We hid our stuff just in case, and started our search.

After about ten minutes of searching I discovered a pair of strange marks on the ground and called Roxy over to see them. She looked at them – they looked like drag marks, definitely could've been Reece's judging from the size, along with some strange footprints that we didn't even want to try and guess where they came from – and we nodded.

This was definitely worth a closer look.

The tracks led us to the entrance of a cave. I looked at Roxy.

"Ready?"

"Yeah," she said. "Split up or stay together?"

"We should stay together. Who knows what's in here?" I gripped the spot on my belt where my dagger was strapped, for comfort.

"Good point. Let's go."

We walked into the cave, but our straight path didn't last long. We soon came to a fork in the path, with numerous tunnels leading off in a ton of different directions. I glanced at Roxy, but before I could ask her which one she thought we should take, we heard Reece yell out:

"Roxy! Chels! Help!"

"Reece!" Roxy cried and sprinted down one of the tunnels toward the sound. I ran after her, trying to keep up but gods, is she fast. Something didn't feel right – he had never, ever, ever called me Chels. Ever. You're just being paranoid, my brain tried to tell me. Calm down and focus on the task at hand.

Somewhere along the way I lost Roxy, but I kept running anyways, hoping to stumble into her. Then I heard her scream: "Chelsea!" I sprinted towards the noise and saw light coming from where the sound was coming from. I took a tentative step, not sure what I would find.

I walked in and immediately ducked behind a stalagmite, seeing movement. I peered around it and saw Reece, unconscious, tied up and hanging upside down from a stalactite. Roxy was hanging upside down, too, but she was conscious because she was struggling against the rope. I saw their weapons on the ground below them.

And, most importantly, I saw a hulking figure standing nearby, open its mouth and, in a perfect imitation of Roxy's voice, scream, "Chelsea!" Then it turned to my friends, and said, "Guess you were lying about there being another of you down here. Like any of your kind would be stupid enough to cross paths with the likes of me." It chuckled. "At any rate, two is enough. I'm sure I'll have plenty of leftovers."

From behind the stalagmite I shuddered. Annabeth had told me about her journey to Camp Half-Blood, and the one monster that almost ended them.

Cyclopes.

And this one was hungry.

Ooh, cliffhanger =) Are we evil for leaving it off here? Slightly, but not as evil as the Cyclopes is! Tune in next time to see how (if) they get out of it!
