Well, school is here. (Yay…) So time to get into the weekly update schedule for whatever this story has left. Should be a few more chapters – not sure how many yet.
Disclaimer: We own none of these characters except for Reece, Chelsea and Roxy.
Reece's POV:
It's vastly not fair. First off, I'm supposed to have good luck. Secondly, I signed up to fight a metal dragon. One metal dragon, and I'm supposed to have back-up fighting that metal dragon. But noooo. No back-up for Reece. No good luck for Reece. Just a stupid dagger and a few well aimed curses. Oh, and a Minotaur. Have I ever mentioned that I'm kind of just a little bit well, terrified of Minotaurs? Let's just say I'm not a fan. When my dad went missing the family who took me in also was the family who took me to Camp Half-Blood. On our way to camp we had a run in with a Minotaur. Let's just say I'm the only one who made it.
I don't like Minotaurs. I really, really don't like Minotaurs.
So here I am fighting two stupid monsters with a dagger and some bad luck curses that wear off quickly and why am I here? Because I'm an idiot. A smitten idiot. Roxy and I were talking and… Roxy is really nice and I enjoyed talking to her. I enjoyed everything about her actually. Then we heard the roar, and being the smitten idiot that I am I looked at the fear in Roxy's eyes and was like, "I'll go check it out." Seriously, I'm supposed to be lucky.
Fortunately I'm only going solo for fourteen minutes when Chelsea and Roxy arrive –thank goodness too, because right now my best curse is, "You'll stub your big toe!" And it's not that effective. Chelsea and Roxy start fighting, then begin attacking the dragon. Leaving one of my worst fears to attack me. I fought, a bit scared, a bit angry. It roared at me but I fought harder, yelling curses and attacking with my dagger as fast as I could. Chelsea and Roxy somehow defeated the dragon and came over to fight with me. I was super nervous, but looking at Roxy I get mad. The Minotaur isn't going to hurt her. I'm going to kill it. I rushed forward, yelling angrily. I attacked, trying to figure out a way to break off the Minotaur's horn. He charged me.
I barely register it happening. The pain comes as a shock. I look over at Chelsea and Roxy - Roxy's eyes are full of fear and panic. Chelsea even looks scared and Chelsea never looks scared. I look down at my chest and see the horn sticking out of it. How did that happen? I was on top of this thing; I was going to kill it. We were going to kill it and now... Blood soaks through my shirt. I feel very, very sick. The pain fills my whole body and stings. I try to pull the horn out. I'm staggering, everything feels like time is slowing down and speeding up in random intervals. And I can hear Roxy calling, see her rushing over, but it doesn't feel real. The dizziness takes me down, blood covering the front of my shirt, trickling down, going everywhere.
Then I black out.
Dun, dun, dunnnnn…
