And, even as Arthur rises to the throne, a new threat looms from across the sea. One thing's for certain- destiny is not always set in stone.

Merlin doesn't know what to make of this impossible prince. As it happens, Arthur doesn't know what to make of Merlin either. Needless to say, between Merlin's instinctive magic and Arthur's inability to sense anything but Merlin's magic when he's in the vicinity, they're going to have to learn to co-exist, for the sake of both their secrets. series of loosely connected stories in which Arthur isn't an idiot, Merlin isn't a clumsy poor creature... Though it depends on your point of view. The consequences of some events knock on the door at the least opportune moments, the idea that a human's worth doesn't depend on who he was born sprouts green leaves, and readers learn things they didn't learn from the show.
