As promised, here is a little "extra" or "mini" that goes into an alternate universe if something in the original story never happened or was changed.

This is if the sisters never snuck out of camp-what would their lives be like? Well, Dappleleaf would never have met Ashfall, and they would've never fallen in love. Lets start with Rainstorm, or in this scenario...Rainflight (Their names depended on Dappleleaf's departure, and since that never happened they are subsequently changed).

If Ashfall and Dappleleaf never fell in love, I said that Ashfall and Rosethorn would be together (yes I remember), but that's not forever. Also, if Dappleleaf isn't with Ashfall, then who is? Who is she with, or is she alone? Fine out!

"No, I'm feeling fine." Rainflight felt tired of saying that phrase. Yes, she was feeling fine. She would've definitely mentioned something if she wasn't feeling fine, especially if it concerned the health of her kits.

Rushwater nodded, shrugging. "Okay, well be sure to tell me if you aren't, alright?" The medicine cat had always seemed pleasant, but at this instance Rainflight wanted to claw his ears off.

"Definitely," Rainflight mumbled, rolling her eyes. She rolled on to her side and looked up, finding her mate standing above her, his eyes sparkling. She let out a purr, glancing at their kits. "They haven't got names yet."

"I wanted to wait to see what they would be like." Ashfall meowed, bending down and giving her ear a lick. "I want their names to suit their personalities."

"Well, we cannot wait that long," Rainflight said, shaking her head. "They need names now." She looked down at the two kits. She nudged the gray and white female. "I want her to be Swiftkit." She then turned to the dark grey tom. "Maybe Thunderkit?"

"Those names are fine," Ashfall agreed. "Although, I wanted to name the she-kit after Rosepaw. I know you don't like me talking about her. I love you, but I loved her too. She's dead, yet I feel she deserves to be remembered. I want her to be names Rosekit."

Rainflight turned away, hiding her jealousy. Did he have to bring up his former love interest? She snorted, wondering what was so great about her. She wasn't a good fighter, since Rainflight was able to kill her easily.

"Fine. Rosekit." Rainflight growled out the words, displeased. She heard Ashfall let out a sigh, and listened to his pawsteps as he left the nursery, leaving her and the two kits alone. "Don't worry, Swiftkit, you won't ever have to be called that wretched cat's name. I'll make sure of it.

She heard rustling at the entrance and perked up, hoping Ashfall had come back to apologize. However, Dapplecloud pushed her way through the entry, brightening when her gaze landed on Rainflight. "There they are," she purred, padding closer.

Rainflight rolled her eyes. "Yes." she responded curtly. Sure, Dapplecloud was her sister, but she was such a princess. It was annoying how everyone fawned over her. "Are you planning on carrying kits anytime soon yourself?"

"No," Dapplecloud shrugged her shoulders, flicking her tail slightly. "It's so dusty in here. I would never think of getting this much dirt on my fur. Yuck." She nodded. "Anyway, I'm needed on patrol." She dipped her head to her sister and ducked out.

Rainflight once again rolled her eyes, thankful that Dapplecloud was finally gone. She turned to her kits and spoke, "Sleep tight, Swiftkit and Thunderkit."

Hmmm...so then how is Dappleleaf, or Dapplecloud, in this instance?

"Foxstep, you won't believe it. Rainflight's kits are so cute!"

Dapplecloud brushed her pelt against her mates, letting out a purr. "I would want kits, but I don't think I could stand to be immobile for moons while they grew. Don't get me started on the living conditions of that nursery."

Foxstep nodded without saying a word. When he finally spoke, he sounded sad. "Sweetpaw, there's a problem. Creamfrost told me that she has feelings for me. Now I know this is what you predicted, but it took me by surprise."

"And you told her that you are in love with me, right?" Dapplecloud demanded, a short sense of panic overwhelming her. Creamfrost had done everything in her power to stop Foxstep's and Dapplecloud's relationship from growing, and yet it didn't work, causing a bitter relationship between the two.

"Of course," Foxstep meowed, giving her forehead a lick. "I love you, Sweetpaw, and nothing could change that."

Dapplecloud nodded, closing her eyes. Her heart lurched at his words, or more specifically, the name he called her. As an apprentice, she and Creamfrost had bickered about Foxstep, and when he told her that she was Sweetpaw reborn, she promised him she had her memories and was the actual Sweetpaw, which she assumed was the only reason that he loved her.

She did have Sweetpaw's memories, sure, but she was a completely different cat. Foxstep couldn't know though. Dapplecloud feared that he would abandon her if he knew, and so he couldn't know.

Dapplecloud sighed, getting to her paws. "I should go speak with her. She needs to accept that you love me, and not her." After an affirmative nod from Foxstep, Dapplecloud started for the edge of camp where Creamfrost was sitting.

"Oh, Dapplecloud. What a pleasant surprise. Not really." Creamfrost's voice suited her name since it stung with icy blades. "Have you come to scold me for taking your tom cat?"

"You didn't take him, and you need to drop this," Dapplecloud snapped. "Foxstep is my mate, not yours. I'm all for you finding a tom of your own, but this is cruel and ridiculous, alright?"

"Cruel and ridiculous?" Creamfrost snarled, leaping to her paws. "You know what's cruel? You taking Foxstep as a mate even though you knew I had feelings for him since I was a kit! Yet you ignored me entirely!"

Dapplecloud recoiled, eyes widening. "I cannot believe you have the nerve to speak to me like that!"

"Why? Because you're a spoiled brat?"

Dapplecloud was frozen for a moment before shrugging off Creamfrost's harsh words. "You know what? Fine. We clearly cannot mend this relationship." She turned and walked off, feeling Creamfrost's angry stare burning into her back.

Dapplecloud tried to push Creamfrost's words away from her thoughts, but they clung. What if I had chosen a different tom? She glanced around, her eyes landing on Ashfall. Rainflight found some other cat, even though he was from a different clan. What if I had met Ashfall instead? What would my life be like?

Dapplecloud pondered the thought, tilting her head to the side in wonder. If Ashfall and I had fallen in love, would Rainflight found another cat, and would Creamfrost get Foxstep? Would we be on good terms? Would he have even loved Rosepaw? Would I be happy?

And with that, I finish the little "what-if" bit. That was what if Ashfall and Dappleleaf never met in the forest. There was a huge chain reaction, clearly.

So, did you like the alternate universe with Rainstorm and Ashfall, Dappleleaf and Foxstep, and the bickering sisters, or do you prefer it the normal way like me? Let me know!

Also, as promised, here is the link to the sequel for all those interested! Be sure to read and review!
