Chapter 25

"Sorry, who me?" The girl asked with a smile, stepping out of direct light, brushing her long blond hair out of her way.

"M-M- Mina?" Darien stuttered, dropping to the ground with shock.

"Who else? Would be able to find the love sick prince of the earth?" She said helping him stand.

Darien accepted her help, but before she let go of him, Darien pulled her into a rough hug. "How are you still alive? I saw you die, I saw all of you get hung in the town square."

Mina pushed him off her, and settled on the edge of his bed. "Well, that was all theatrics Darien, it involved monsters, body switching and a lot of planning on our end. The Queen needed to believe we were dead. But our battle is just about to begin, if you are anything to go by."

Darien stared at the blonde girl. He was still trying to come to grips with the fact that his friends were still alive. "What do you mean if I am meant to go by? Also why haven't you guys come to find me sooner, I have thought you have been dead for 3 years. Have you guys made contact with Serena?" He said very quickly, Mina held up her hand, to stop the flow of questions.

"We couldn't just go looking for you, with our powers, we had to lay low, just like you have been. We have had to look for you the old fashion way, but you are pretty good at hiding." Mina laughed, "As for finding Serena, we haven't been able to cross over to the other world to find her. But you can change that."

"What do you mean, I can change that?" He asked looking at Mina suspiciously.

Mina smiled excitedly, "What did you feel this morning? Pretty sure it was your link to Serena."

"Serena is dead Mina, what I felt this morning was guilt, and grief over losing the love of my life." Darien said turning away from her smiling face.

Mina laughed, "For someone who used to be so smart, you seem to be pretty dumb these days. You are so silly, I wouldn't have been able to find you if the link didn't still exist. If it was just guilt and grief as you say, you would still be here, moping away, unable to find us, and unable to find your princess." Mina said this jumping up with enthusiasm.

"How will we bring Serena back?" Darien asked, with a small amount of interest.

"Well, where she is at the moment is a different timezone. We learnt this when we were captured by the queens guards. What you need to do is meditate. Concentrate on your love for Serena, and while you do that, I am going to update the team. If want to meet up with us, we have been bunking under our old hang out, meet us there tonight, I will let you in." Mina said with a wink, jumping up from the bed.

Darien stared at her, but before he could protest and suggest that she should be medicated because she was delusional. She was out the door. Which left him no choice but to follow her directions. Darien haphazardly dropped himself to the floor, and crossed his legs, and closed his eyes and concentrated on his princess, and on their love.

Serena had remained on the roof for hours. The man of her dreams may not be her link to her planet anymore, but her love of her planet, or her kingdom could become her link to the planet. She allowed herself to embrace her full power, feeling the freeness that she felt not being in her room. Something down in her room, was hindering her to embrace her true power.

Feeling this power around her, she cast her thoughts to her planet, she saw the pain and suffering of her people, she embraced their pain and suffering, this was her fault they were not able to rejoice in the peace that she was meant to supply this world with her reign over Crystal Tokyo.

Serena allowed her guilt of not being able to be the protector of the innocent drive her will to find an appropriate area for her to concentrate on. But her focus got pulled away from the temple grounds she was going to use for safety, she felt it was going to be poetic to land on her empty grave, similar to a rebirth. But in the hour earlier instead of finding her tombstone, her focus of pulled I to a dark little apartment. Drawing on more of her power, she dragged her focus onto her original target, her empty grave stone. Gathering more and more power she started to fade in and out of the dimension she was sitting in.

Meanwhile downstairs in the Queens bedroom, Beryl looked up from her reflection towards the roof. Feeling the immense power above her. Prince Diamond came running into her room, swinging to a stop using the door frame. "What have you unleashed?"

Beryl glared at him with hard eyes, "This is not me you foolish prince, where is your princess? This is her power." Beryl stood up and motioned for the Prince to follow her.

As the Queen and the Prince reached the rooftop, Serena saw them as she faded away into the crisp night air.

Darien sighed, and scratched his head. He couldn't meditate anymore. He was too close to actually pulling in some of his real powers and being discovered by the queen. He started to pack up his things. He couldn't possibly stay in the apartment, now that the others had found, not that he wasn't happy about it, but if they could find them through the link, surely the queen will be able to find him. He folded his blankets up and pushed it to the bottom of his bag. He gently collected the picture frame that was under his blanket. He traced the edge of the face that was in the glasses frame. "Could you really be alive?" He whispered.

Casting the thought away he swung on his cloak, picked up his bag and left the dark apartment, making his way through the shadows of the city. He made his way to the grassy hill of the temple and the empty grave of his princess.

Serena landed heavily in the cemetery, narrowly missing the edge of her own empty tombstone. With a tight smile she looked around the land. The sky was shaded purple, like the sun wanted to go to sleep and the moon wanted wake up from its long sleep. She guessed that the moon hadn't shone brightly since she left the dimension.

The wind pulled through her hair, Serena jumped at hold cold it was. Pulling her out of her pondering, with a fearful thought of being caught, she pulled herself into the bushes and started to make her way before she was discovered.
