Hehe, uh... *hides behind Butler* I'M SORRY! There I said it, and truly I am. No excuses I just straight up haven't updated in over four months... Oops. Well hopefully this isn't too shabby.

Artemis wasn't quite sure why he was letting Holly take charge of the situation. It was his house after all, his problem, why did she always step in like she was trying to keep him out of trouble? If he hadn't been Artemis Fowl, he would have pouted.

Sometimes Holly made him feel like a child, like he had become a child again when he came back. As he'd told her once before, he was just out of the loop, not helpless. All he needed to do was catch up. And he did. So why then, still, did she sometimes skirt around him like something fragile? It was getting extremely annoying.

They had reached his office, and Artemis reluctantly stepped up to unlock the door. Holly sighed.

"I miss the good old days when I could just kick down a door without worrying about Fowl type tech." Artemis smirked.

"I'm sure you do." He said, allowing the ladies to pass through first. The girl, Jen's eyes bulged. She spun around, mouth wide.

Obviously she was smart enough to appreciate the mass amount of break through technologies in a single room. Most teenagers would have been mildly impressed at best. He shook his head microscopically, he wouldn't let the girl grow on him until he knew exactly what she was and how that would effect him.

"Miss McEvoy," he said, opening a drawer. "I hope you don't mind if I take a DNA sample." The corner of her mouth twitched, most likely a nervous tick.

"What do you need?" She asked. Artemis walked over and rather gracefully yanked a hair out of her head.

"This will do." He said holding the shimmering red-brown strand.

"Ow." She grumbled rubbing her head and scrunched her nose at him. He chuckled and set about preparing the test. He had created a method of his own several years back, one much better and faster than those used by medical facilities around the world.

Artemis brushed his hands off.

"We have about half an hour, anyone care for a cup of tea?" He asked. Holly rolled her eyes good naturedly.

"What is it with mud-boys and their dirty water?" He asked.

"Not everyone shares my fondness i'm afraid." Jen snorted and the other two looked at her, Artemis with an eyebrow raised, attempting to hold back a smile.

"Sorry." she muttered, mortified. Artemis motioned to the door and the group made their way to the living room. Holly flopped down onto one of the sofas and groaned.

"Hey Arty, you promised me food." She said.

"Butler's probably whipping up something as we speak. I'll go see about some tea." He said, and walked into the kitchen where Butler was indeed working on something that smelled amazing. Attempting to do something for himself, Artemis went hunting for a teapot. After a good minute of searching, Butler took pity on his charge.

"On the table." He coughed, and there it was, already steeping, Artemis smiled sheepishly at Butler. This is why he hadn't moved out yet, he'd never survive on his own.

Managing to finding cups and put together a tray on his own. He walked back into the living room, careful to keep his balance, he looked up just in time to the the blast come his way. He hopped to the side, somehow managing to avoid getting hit and spilling anything.

Jen was holding Holly's Neutrino, staring at the smoking trip wide eyed.

"S-sorry." She sputtered, and Holly could hold it back anymore. She burst out into hysterical, rolling around, pounding the floor laughter.

"Good god Artemis, you should have seen your face!" She said between bursts. Artemis sighed and shook his head. He set the tray down on the coffee table and turned to check the damage, there was a small hole seared in the wall between to framed pieces of Renaissance art, but thankfully nothing priceless seemed damaged. He shook his head at Holly.

"Why on earth was Miss McEvoy using your gun commander? I don't think Foaly would appreciate his technology in the hands of any human who doesn't know how to use it." He'd meant it in jest, but in the corner of his eyes, he noticed Jen's face fall slightly.

"You can't blame the girl for being curious Arty." She said, frowning, laughter gone.

"Goodness Holly can I not attempt to make a pun at all without offending someone?" He said exasperated.

"No." She said crossing her arms. "It doesn't seem you can."

I'm sorry if the size of the type keeps changing but at least you can read it, aparently it was in code the first time. Any ways, see you next time... Whenever that may be.
