Ace: I now present Chapter 7. And a note: There will not be any Dark Pit x Isa. Another point: I've rewritten all of the previous chapters so that they flow better, make more sense, and cause less random guessing at what's going on.

Disclaimer: I don't own Super Smash Bros.

Chapter 7: Surprise!

Isa

Was that necessary? Mizineko asked me.

Shut up! I mentally shouted back at her.

Link frowned. "Are you okay?"

"Well, considering I hit poor Marth, no," I responded quickly. I didn't want anyone to know that I talked to Mizineko, because that might cause me to be weirder than I intend to be. And what am I suppose to say? Hi there random person. (I can't let Link know I know his name remember?) I am Isa Sentōki, and my sword has a magical cat spirit that speaks in my head at random times! That would be awkward.

Marth grabbed my shirt and pulled me out of my chair. "What were you thinking? I merely poked you, and you attacked me viciously!"

"You poked me?" I asked as it occurred to me that he was probably trying to wake me up when I accidentally hit him. Oops.

"You didn't realize that I poked you?"

"No," I muttered as I hit his hand for him to release his iron grip. He blinked and let go.

"OW!" Marth began to raise his voice. "I'm going to challenge you to a fight-"

"It was an accident!" I yelled at him.

"No it wasn't!" He yelled back.

"Yeah, it was!"

"No, it wasn't!"

"Can you forget about that?"

"How about we fight to settle this," Marth said suddenly. "The loser apologizes."

"Deal. Best three out of five?"

"Let's do this when we have practice," Link interjected, and he got between us. "Remember, practice is where we fight to practice for the tournament. Besides, it looks bad if you two rip the classroom apart in a fight because of a petty argument."

Link

"IT'S NOT A PETTY ARGUMENT!" Marth and Isa shouted at me. "THEY STARTED IT!" Both of them pointed at the other, and began to glare at each other viciously.

"Calm down guys," I tried to reason with Isa and Marth. It was hard enough talking with Marth, as he had a chip on his shoulder (metaphorically), he couldn't grasp English idioms well (but I don't know many either, so I can't judge), and he could be a little (okay, very) aggressive when aggravated. And I don't know Isa, but I got the feeling that she could go berserk and attack you if you mess with her, and strangely enough, I got the feeling she also had a chip on her shoulder. Not a good combo if you put the two of them together.

"Hi Link," Zelda said as she entered the classroom carrying her books in her arms.

"Hey Zelda," I responded.

Isa and Marth were too busy glaring at each other to notice Zelda.

Say hello to Princess Zelda, the soft voice I heard from earlier commanded.

"Who's that?" I asked out loud.

"Who's who?" Isa finally broke her glaring contest with Marth and looked at me with a quizzical look on her face.

"It's-nevermind. I must be imagining things," I responded.

"Hey," Zelda turned to Isa. "Are you one of the new girls, Isa Senkai?"

"No, it's Sentokai," she responded. She said the 'to' very fast, making it sound like "Senkai".

"I think you mean Sentōki," I pointed out. I had racked my brain for Japanese words that sounded similar, and the Japanese word for fighter came up.

Isa frowned. "Sorry. I can't Japanese, so I don't know. I can only speak English and Spanish. But thank you Link."

Great. Isa's ability to communicate with the majority of Smash Manor just went from a 100 to 85, as most of us know Japanese and we have a general/limited understanding of English. Her communication level went to a 30 if she tried talking to Marth, as he had a habit of speaking Japanese half the time, and a 0 if she tried talking to the Pokémon who don't speak English. (Like Pichu and Pikachu.)

"How could you not speak Japanese and yet have a Japanese last name?" Marth asked her.

"Maybe because my parents thought that 3 languages would drive my brothers and I crazy and make us impossible to understand," she responded.

"I can see that," Zelda responded. "Link and I grew up speaking Hylian and Japanese, and I began to learn English when I was twelve. I think Link began at the age of ten, but he's a fast learner."

"Lucky," Isa said. "Wish I could learn languages that fast."

"So what's your old school like?" Zelda asked Isa.

"We learn science, english, social studies and math like other people. We also learn fighting or spells, but that depends on your abilities. My best friend Katie is an awesome healer and can teleport, but if you hand her a blade, she'll squeal, drop it and hide behind me. I, on the other hand, cannot cast spells. If I tried creating a small fire spell, it exhausts very quickly. And why I am I saying all of this again?"

Because Zelda asked you about Senshi Academy, the mysterious voice said quietly. You keep prattling at times, and if you want to be like your sensei, then only give people the basic information they need. If you don't, then prattle away.

"I hear that voice again," I said aloud.

"I hear something too," Zelda replied.

"I can't hear anything," Marth murmured.

"Hear what?" Isa asked.

"I keep hearing a feminine voice," I began, "but it's very soft, like it's far away. It reminds me of... A cat? That's bizarre."

"I have no idea what you are talking about," Isa replied.

"Never mind that. Do you have any siblings?" Zelda asked Isa.

"You know you're full of energy, right?" Isa responded.

"Do you have any sisters?"

"No."

"Brothers?"

"I'm not answering the number. They're too crazy."

"Can you tell me their names?" I asked.

"What about you guys? I don't know anything about you," Isa asked.

"You're dodging the question," Zelda stated.

"Exactly."

"Why do you keep refusing to answer these questions?" Marth asked.

Isa didn't respond, and was busy pulling a pencil from her binder when the classroom door opened.

"Rinku, do you know what time class starts?" A voice behind me asked.

"It's starts at 9," I sighed. "Did you read the paper on your uniform Roy?"

"No," he replied. He went to sit down next to me and froze. His eyes zeroed in on Isa. "Hi there Bella," he said with a smirk.

"Good to see you too, Red," Isa said with a steel voice, and I swear that the temperature dropped twenty degrees as they continue looking at each other.

"Wait, you guys know each other?" Zelda asked.

Roy scoffed. "Of course we do. You think that Isa's sensei wrote a letter to Master Hand so she could join us? No. I encountered her, we fought, and later I mentioned her to Master Hand, so I fought her again and when she managed to defeat me, Master Hand was very impressed and talked to her sensei about transferring schools, which allowed her to come here. And I don't think that the way she won was fair."

"And that happened because you didn't ask for directions," Isa sighed. "If you hadn't entered my school grounds looking for your friends a year ago, I'd be playing paintball with my classmates today. And the way I won was fair!"

"Whatever, Bella," Roy said as he rolled his eyes.

"Wait, your name is Isabella?" I asked.

"Yep."

"That's sounds like a princess's name," Marth said with a smirk.

"Shut up Marth," Isa said. (You did say that Isa! Let me finish this part before you can rant about the times I've said 'Excuse me, Princess Isabella' to you!)

"Can I call you Bella? Or Isabella?" Zelda asked before Isa and Marth could go in killer mode and destroy everything while fighting about Isa's name and her response to Marth.

"You remind me of Katie. She said those exact words to me when my brother Ken told her my real name," Isa sighed.

Ike entered the room at that second and sat down near Marth. "Class is starting soon, and people are arriving."

With that, Pit, Dark Pit, Diana, Kirby, Sonic, and Shadow the Hedgehog entered and sat down in different locations.

"Is that all of us?" I asked Ike.

"Why-a yes, Link. That is-a all of us."

A short man in a blue and red outfit entered the room and began to write stuff on the whiteboard. I thought that it was a joke. There is no way that guy could be here, and teach this subject.

Mario was our English teacher.

Ace: I bet that some of you didn't see that coming. And some of you didn't really care, as you were focused on something else, like the fact that I updated. Sorry if the updates are slow. I was busy, I had writer's block, I was perfecting this chapter-

Marth: And writing other fanfics...

Ace: I apologize for that. And when I say I'm on hiatus, it doesn't mean that I'll stop writing this fanfic forever. It just means that I'm taking a short break, and I actually write a little bit of the story.

Marth: And you take time to fix stuff. Have you added Metroid to the group list in Chapter 5?

Ace: WHY DID YOU BRING IT UP?

Marth: I'm just checking.

Ace: Of course I fixed it.

Samus: I can't believe that you forgot me!

Ace: I'm sorry Samus! I won't forget next time!

Samus: You better not. And I'm glad you let appear in the author's note to make up for forgetting Metroid.

Ace: No problem. Anyway, I guess that's it. See you guys next update!
