Ace: Unlucky number (for some, but not me), unlucky time for Isa. And the chapter means "Bad luck."

Chapter 13: Mala suerte
"That was genius Isa," Pit mentioned sarcastically after Dr. Mario left the room, muttering stuff about stupid patients and how he wasn't paid enough to babysit irresponsible children.
I glared at the angel as I tugged a knot out of my hair, and looked at my newly bandaged arm, which hid a slight fracture that was healing faster than the normal rate, courtesy of Zelda. "I probably would have gotten away with it if Squirtle hadn't decided to scare me by yelling, "Boo!", which made me fall down a flight of stairs."
"What puzzles me," Link stated as he entered our conversation, "is why you would leave the hospital wing when you could have waited a day to be released so you could get your phone. And how you survived that fall."
"I'm an impulsive child who doesn't think things through and who was bored out of her skull," I responded. "As for the fall, I was halfway down when Squirtle gave me that scare. So it's not THAT bad."
"And because of your impulsiveness / potential ADHD, you have to wait a bit longer to be discharged from the hospital," Link shook his head. "Brilliant, we're all getting out at the same time now."
"Whatever," I said back.
"Lights out, sweeties!" Peach said exiting the room as she shut the lights off, leaving the three of us in darkness.
"Well, that was anti-climatic and random," Pit muttered as he limped across the room to go sleep. "G'Night."
"Ditto,*" Link replied as he walked to a different section and crashed on one of the beds.
"Buenas noches," I said softly as I curled up on my bed and fell asleep.
"Takahiro! Don't do it!" I yelled at my brother.
"Don't worry sis, I got this!" He yelled back.
"I'm a fighter too, you twit! I'm the better sword fighter! Let me handle this!" I ran towards him, either to help him or take his place in the coming fight, but he swatted me away. He turned to his opponent and glared at him. "You insult my family, you answer to me."
His opponent laughed. "It was an insult about how you are no way a good enough fighter to be part of Senshi Academy."
"An insult that will be your downfall," Takahiro murmured. He pulled his katana, Yoru no ōkami*, from his sheath, and readied himself.
This was going to end badly, and to prevent it, I got up and tried to yank Takahiro away. The opponent aimed his gun and-
"ISA!" Link yelled as a bucket of ice water was dumped on my face. I shuddered and shook my head, attempting to get the water out of my hair. "What the heck was that for?" I growled as I got up.
Pit looked at me with concern, holding the (now empty) bucket. "You woke us up with your screaming and thrashing. While I got the bucket ready, you slapped Link in the face."
"I did?" I responded nervously as I twirled my bangs around, something I never did unless I was really embarrassed about an action I had done. "Dang it. I made another person upset."
"You had a nightmare. That is different from coming up to me fully awake and smacking me for no reason."
"...Good point," I replied.
"What were you dreaming about?" Pit asked.
I made a strangled noise and curled up in a ball. My eyes focused on my knees and I hugged myself. Link told Pit something in Japanese and grabbed my arm. "Isa... We just wanted to talk you through it and calm you down. If you don't want to talk about, then-"
"I'll talk about it," I muttered quietly. "It would be helpful if someone else knew what troubled me.
Pit nodded to me, and I began. "I was reliving the day my brother Takahiro died."
Shock entered their faces. "What?"
"A masked teen attacked my school and insulted my brother's fighting technique. In anger, my brother challenged him. I tried to stop him, as I didn't like the vibe the teen gave off, but the stranger calmly pointed his gun-"I choked up at this point, but continued-" and with a-a click, Takahi-iro crashed into the ground, s-shot in the chest. H-he was immediately t-taken to-to the hospital... And w-was d-d-declared d-dead." I sniffled and bury my face into my knees, trying to not choke up again. "After Takahiro died, I attempted to a-avenge him, but I failed when the teen escape, and to this day I have no clue where the murderer is." I looked up tearfully at Link. "It was around... Around the time that Master Hand tried to recruit my brother and myself. Originally, Takahiro was the only one going as it was taking forever to convince me to join, but with him gone... I stepped up to take his place. I immediately left the school, because the tournament was starting. I don't know where my brother's body is. "
Pit looked at me sadly. "I'm so sorry to hear that... And I feel bad for making you talk about it."
Link looked at me carefully. "You're stronger than you look and act Isabela. It takes true courage to talk about stuff like this, especially to people you barely know."
"...Thanks," I told him after a few seconds.
Huh, Mizuneko scoffed. You practically know a lot about those two, and could write an embarrassing life story about them.
"Neko, shut up," I muttered aloud.
"This is driving me crazy," Link gave me a stern look. "Who is talking?"
"Her name is Mizuneko, but I nickname her Neko," I told them, deciding that it was no use hiding Mizuneko's identity anymore.
"So... The meowing I'm hearing is coming from a person named Neko?" Pit asked with a slight grin on his face.
"What?" I asked.
Pit looked at his left hand, which had a couple of stitches, courtesy of Seth stabbing it before Link defeated him. "Ever since you've arrived, I keep hearing meowing every time I'm around you. I originally thought that I was going insane, but now I know that I am not."
"Just to let you know as a heads up, Angels and Hylians can hear voices of higher beings," Link chimed in.
"Dang Mizuneko," I said aloud after I processed what Link said. "I've been lugging a goddess around and didn't know it?"
Yes. Now I want Catnip and a mouse. Pronto
"There is no way I am getting a mouse to you without force or have access to catnip."
JK. I'm not a goddess. And you know that I am not a cat, so forget about the catnip.
"Then what are you?" Link asked aloud, hoping Mizuneko could hear him.
I am human shape-shifter whose soul is bound to Isa's sword.
"What?"
Long story, she replied. But basically, I was trapped in the sword before Isa acquired it, and have been her mentor ever since.
"Who take naps everyday at the most inconvenient times," I added. "And acts like Navi at times."
"I have no idea what's going on, but this is fun to listen to," Pit said with a smile, but Link looked very confused.
"How?" He asked.
If you had Fi in your sword*, then you would know, I thought silently.
Think of Navi, but in the sword and less annoying, Mizuneko stated to Link.
"'Cept when you want food. Or think I get too out of control," I added.
"Yeah, I hate Navi," Link admitted. "So glad she's not here now..."
"Hey! Listen!" Navi announced as she entered the room with Toon Link and Young Link.
"Shut up!"
I threw a book at Navi due to my anger."Go away, crazy fairy!"
"Our little rebel still hasn't learned her manners," she commented. "I think some etiquette** would do her good. Hey! Go to class*!"
Before I could come up some snappy remark or insult, Young Link commanded, "Go away Navi."
She did as she was told, and Toon Link came up to me. "Could you turn this on?" He held up a small rectangular device.
I picked it up and opened it. As I turned it on, a sudden thought hit me. "Is this... My 3DS?!"
Young Link grinned mischeviously. "Maybe."
I shook my head and focused on the screen, and I felt the blood drain from my face.
"You put in Ocarina of Time 3D to mess with me, correct?"
"It has a photo of me on it!" Toon Link said proudly.
Young Link continued to grin. "Something you're not telling us, Bella?"
"Toon Link! Young Link!" Zelda yelled as she entered the room. "I told you guys to not bother them! You have work to do!"
The two boys scampered off as Zelda decided to join us. "Those two will be the end of me, I swear."
"You'll get used to it. I mean, they are boys," I murmured. I was about to hide my 3DS when Link snatched it from me and held it above his head. "So... Why is there a photo of Young Link on the screen?"
"Classified."
Zelda sighed. "This isn't the CIA or FBI, Isabela."
"That is classified information."
"By whose authority? Yours?" Pit asked.
"Master Hand's."
"What? Master Hand knows this?" Zelda looked shocked, but I ignored her.
"Yep."
"Let me guess... There are video games that just happen to star us, you played them as a little girl, and when you found out that we existed, so you promised Master Hand not to tell anyone," Zelda concluded.
I gaped at her. "How do you do this?"
She smiled. "I am awesome that way."
"She's a telepath," Link whispered to me. With that thought, I fell back on my bed, not completely noticing Pit's laugh or Zelda glaring at Link. "Tengo mala suerte," I whispered to myself. With that, I fell asleep to the bickering of my companions.
Ace: The last part that Isa said translates to : "I have bad luck."
Notes:
Yoru no okami: Wolf of the night
*Isa thinks of Skyword Sword, but doesn't want to reveal the video games to Link and proceeded to fail hiding it.
** Was Navi there when Isa was in Etiquette? Nope. So Navi can't say anything.
* Does Navi not see that Isa is in a hospital?
In case anyone is wondering, Zelda didn't ask Isa about illusions because a) Zelda felt that it would rude to ask Isa in the hospital, b) Isa would deny it, c) Isa, and d) Toon Link and Young Link were driving her insane because they were slacking off.
That is all for now. Until next time.
