I had intended this to be longer, but it didn't work out that way. Anyway, I hope you enjoy! :)
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! I LOVE YOU ALL! :)
Please remember to review at the end! :)
Caroline fingered a painting in the book in front of her. A smile graced her face, as she lingered on the picture.
"Caroline, this was my fault. It's my fault you got hurt. It's my fault you are lying here in this bed, and it's my fault that our son is missing."
She smiled as she closed her eyes, and the images from the past lingered in her mind's eye.
"Listen up, Rogue," She began her aggravation current due to her pain. "I got in this bed because of a stupid man who can't let go of the past, and if you continue to sit there and tell me this is your fault, then you are no better than the man who did this to me."
She opened her eyes, and lifted her head as the memory continued.
"You are my Rogue, and you are King. Our son is out there, so this no time to be mopey and trying to send me away!" She lifted her head higher at the statement. "Even if you could, I would just come right back, and you know it." She added, nodding her head. "This is my home. YOU are my home!" She stated, lifting her right hand, and pointed it at him. "Got that!"
She smiled and let out a laugh at the memory. She shook her head. Bonnie was right, she was clinging to the past, and she wasn't focusing on the future.
Bowing her head, she closed the book in front of her, and set it aside. Climbing off the bed, she moved towards the door, and smiled as she opened it, and left the room, and the past behind.
It was time to focus on the future.
She walked into the bathroom, and looked into the mirror on the wall, as she closed the door behind her. She smiled as she looked into her eyes, and found a light she had never seen before.
She covered her mouth, and let out a small laugh as she pushed back against the wall, and leaned her head back.
Closing her eyes, she pushed her hands through her hair.
"Seriously!" She shouted, pushing his hand away from the piece of the puzzle he was trying to force in. "It won't fit." She added, with a laugh.
Klaus looked up into her eyes, and frowned. "I'll make it fit, Swan." He replied, pushing the piece once more.
She shook her head, and stood up from the table, to pull his hand away from the puzzle. "You're going to break the piece." She replied, stifling a laugh.
He turned his head and quirked a brow. "Are you laughing at me?" He asked, watching her shake her head, though she was stifling her laughter.
Caroline shook her head, but her face told the truth. "NO!" She screamed, when he grasped her hips, and pulled her into his lap. She let out a laugh, and shook her head, as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"That's for laughing at me." He whispered, narrowing his eyes playfully.
She shook her head, and leaned forward. "Well, then, if that's what it takes to get into your arms, I'll gladly do it again." She whispered with a smile.
Klaus chuckled, and linked his hands around her waist. "We still have the puzzle to finish." He whispered, brushing his lips over hers.
She smiled, and hummed. "I think the puzzle is a lost cause." She replied, glancing over her shoulder to the puzzle that was now scattered everywhere thanks to the bump on the table when Klaus pulled her down.
Klaus smirked, and bit back a chuckle. "I'm not complaining." He remarked, watching her glare at him playfully before smiling.
"Neither am I." She whispered, leaning forward to kiss his lips. "This is much better than the puzzle." She added, loving the sound of his laugh before their kiss deepened.
~End~
Caroline opened her eyes, and smiled brightly. That happened a few days ago, and it made her feel whole and happy.
Placing her hands on the counter, she bit her bottom lip. Ever since her memories had returned, she spent every moment she could with Klaus, laughing with him, talking with him, and loving him.
Never once did she think about their past life, and the love they shared then. All she could think about was how much she loved him now, and what she was feeling was stronger than the past. It was the present, and the future, and, for Caroline, the final love in her life.

Sophie pulled Katherine into the darkened alley, and hid behind a large garbage dump, hiding from the men Tyler had sent after them.
Leaning forward, she watched as they paced around, and finally moved away to continue their search.
She sighed, lightly, and turned her head to Katherine. Her right eye was swollen, her left cheek had a burn and cut on it, blood had dried on the side of her face, and her side was bleeding badly.
Katherine needed a hospital.
"I've got to get you to a hospital." Sophie whispered, dragging Katherine carefully in her arms after a few moments had passed, and the goons had gone on.
Katherine groaned, and shook her head. "Take me to Elijah. He has to know." She whispered, and then let out a moan.
Sophie sighed, but nodded in understanding. Slowly walking to the end of the alley, she made sure the coast was clear before walking down the darkened street. They made it to a small shop at the end of one of the streets, and Sophie nodded to Katherine, who was fighting to stay awake.
Entering the shop, Sophie inhaled the scent of herbs and spices, Katherine was starting to drift out of consciousness, and Sophie called out for help.
A tall man with dark sandy hair came from the back of the room, followed by a petite dark brown haired woman.
"Oh my God." He whispered, as he rushed over to Katherine. "April, call an ambulance." He called out, picking up Katherine gently.
Sophie shook her head. "No, please, I need to call someone." She replied, following them into the back.
He laid Katherine down on a small table, and began to look over her. "This woman needs an ambulance." He countered, looking up at Sophie.
Sophie shook her head. "Please, this is very important." She remarked, with pleading eyes.
He turned his head to his wife, who was holding a cordless phone in her hands, and with a soft smile, she handed it to Sophie.
Sophie smiled as best she could and muttered a thank you before she began to dial. After the second ring, a familiar voice answered the call.
"Elijah, it's Sophie." She paused, as he began to rant on the other end. She lifted her left hand to her hair, and ran her fingers through it. "We are all right. We escaped, but Katherine is hurt badly." She replied, turning to see the man mixing some herbs in a bowl. "I'm not sure where we are…" She trailed off, looking around her.
April smiled and approached her. "The Rogue's Herbs." She replied, lowly.
Sophie smiled in gratitude. "The Rogue's Herbs." She informed him. "Alright, yes, we'll be careful." She replied, ending the call, and handing the phone to April. "Thank you." She replied, glancing at her friend.
April nodded, and placed the phone on a small table. "Don't worry; Matt will take care of her." She replied, touching the young woman's arm.
Sophie nodded. "I hope so." She whispered, folding her arms over her chest.
"Could I get you something?" April asked, watching Sophie shake her head.
"No, thank you, I'm fine." She answered, moving towards her friend.
April nodded, and pulled out a chair, and offered her to sit down. "You look like you need it." She remarked, watching Sophie sigh, and finally sit down, only to drop her head in her hands, as her elbows rested on her knees.
She didn't know how long she stayed in that position, but when the door to the shop opened, she lifted her head, and panic flooded her.
April must have sensed the distress, and slowly walked out towards the front. She returned moments later with a man, who looked as if he hadn't slept in days.
"Katerina." He whispered, heading over to Katherine.
Sophie sighed in relief, and turned to see Klaus enter the shop. "Klaus." She whispered, standing up.
Klaus walked over to her, and pulled her into a quick hug, before pulling back to look at her. "Are you alright?" He asked, his cerulean eyes roaming over her.
She nodded, and sighed. "I'm fine. It's Katherine I'm worried about. Tyler did his work on her." She added, with a hint of malice.
April stiffened at the name, and glanced at her husband, who was staring at Klaus with a wide eyed expression.
Klaus turned to Matt, and smiled in gratitude. "I want to thank you for taking care of them." He replied, cordially.
Matt nodded, and bowed his head. "It was nothing, your highness." He returned, trying to hide his nervousness.
Klaus smiled, and approached him. "I trust you will keep this a secret if anyone asks you about this." He replied, trying to forget that in the past it was Matt who had betrayed them.
Matt nodded, and bowed his head, as he felt his wife come to stand beside him. "You have my word." He replied, swallowing hard.
Klaus nodded, and turned his attention to his brother, who was trying to get Katherine to wake up.
Matt turned his head, and sighed. "She'll be out for a few hours. I gave her a herb which dulled her pain and sedated her. She has a few broken ribs, and a knife wound in her side. I suggest you take her to a hospital." He recommended, professionally.
Elijah nodded his head, and gently lifted her into his arms, and carried her out the door with Sophie following closely.
Klaus nodded to the couple, but didn't say a word as his glare was enough to get his message through. Betray him this time, and the penalty will be more severe than the last.

Caroline paced the floor of the living room, and clamped her hands over her mouth. Worry etched her face, and fear gripped her heart. He should have made it back by now.
"Caroline, pacing the floor isn't going to help." Bonnie remarked, entering the living room with a cup of coffee in her hands.
She handed it to Caroline, who smiled in gratitude. After taking a sip, she looked at her friend. "What did he say when he called?" She asked, with worry.
Bonnie sighed, and glanced at the clock on the wall before answering. "He said, they had found Katherine and Sophie, and they were bringing them here for protection."
Caroline closed her eyes, and bowed her head for a moment. "Has it occurred to them that Tyler probably let them go, and is now following them?" She asked, lifting her head.
Bonnie nodded, and approached her as Caroline walked towards the window. "It has, but from what Sophie told them, they had to fight to get free, and she made sure no one was following them when they made it to the shop to phone for help." She replied, carefully.
Caroline scoffed, and shook her head. "Tyler would never give up that easily." She responded, with the pain of remembering.
Bonnie nodded. "I know, and so does Klaus." She replied, touching her friend's arm lightly.
Caroline bowed her head, and fiddled with the cup in her hands. "This day started off so well for me." She whispered, lifting her head to look out into the darkening sky. "I finally realized that I was letting the past overshadow my feelings for Klaus, and that the past couple of weeks have strengthened my feelings for him." She replied, with a faint smile. "I love him, Bonnie. I love him more than I ever dreamed I could, stronger than the past love, and stronger than any emotion I have." She whispered, tears filling her eyes.
Bonnie smiled, and nodded. "You should tell him, when he returns." She whispered, watching Caroline smile with a light in her eyes.
"I will, after everyone is settled." She whispered, nodding her head, and taking a sip of her coffee.
It was about two hours when Caroline heard the front door open, and clamoring to stand up from the couch, she smiled as she saw the face she longed to see the past few days.
"Rogue," She whispered, rushing towards him, and leaping into his open arms.
"Swan," He returned, holding her closer to him, ignoring the looks from a few others.
They pulled back, and Caroline touched his face with her right hand. A smile graced her features, and she placed her forehead on his for a brief moment, before he pulled back to see Elijah carrying Katherine, still unconscious into the room.
Caroline smiled, and nodded to Elijah. "You can put her in my room." She replied, beating Klaus at the instructions.
Klaus bit back his surprise, and nodded toward his brother as Elijah carried Katherine towards the room.
"Where's Sophie?" Caroline asked, looking around them, only seeing Kol, Bonnie, Stefan, and Rebekah, who was carrying a few rags in her hands.
Klaus nodded. "She's safe. We placed her in a small cottage not too far from here." He replied, with a light smile.
Caroline nodded, and bowed her head.
Rebekah smiled at Stefan before moving towards the room where Katherine was resting. "I'll go and wrap her wounds before we all settle in." She replied to Klaus, who nodded to her.
Kol and Bonnie moved out of the living room, and headed towards the kitchen. Stefan nodded to Caroline, who smiled in return, and walked towards the bedroom.
"Now," Klaus began, pulling her closer to him, watching her smile in delight. "I would like my real welcome." He whispered, watching her laugh lightly.
Caroline pulled his head toward hers, and gently placed her lips on his for a brief moment, only to find their passion had grown in the separation.
She clung to him, as his hands moved underneath her tank top, and his tongue began to move around in her mouth.
She moaned, and tilted her head to the side, to get a better access to his mouth, and moaned when it served its purpose.
They broke apart, both panting, both full of desire and love, both still clinging to each other as if they were the other's life line.
"I love you, Swan." He whispered, searching her eyes.
Caroline smiled and felt tears form in her eyes. She opened her mouth to speak, but he silenced them with his lips, lightly brushing hers.
"Let's go to bed." He whispered, feeling her shiver against him. He smiled, as he kissed her cheek. "We won't do anything, love, but you do need a place to sleep." He remarked, feeling her smile against his skin as she kissed his cheek.
"And you think I should sleep with you." She concluded, hiding her glee for a moment.
Klaus nodded, and smiled.
She pulled back, and looked into his eyes, and her expression became solemn. "Niklaus…" She began, but again he stopped her.
"I meant what I said, love. We won't make love. I've spent two days away from you, and I just want to hold you in my arms." He remarked, watching her smile and nod.
"I know, Niklaus." She whispered, kissing him lightly on the lips. "I was just going to say, I love you." She added, watching him smile.
"And I love you."

Elijah picked up Katherine's limp left hand, and brought it to his lips. "I'm sorry, Katerina." He whispered, bowing his head over her hand. "I should've protected you." He added, shaking his head.
"Don't you start."
Elijah jerked his head up, and gazed into her dark brown orbs. "Katerina." He whispered, not caring if a tear fell from his eye.
She smiled faintly, and lifted her left hand to his face. "You look like hell, Highness." She whispered, faintly.
Elijah smiled faintly, but it dropped, as his head felt down. "Well, that is what happens when someone takes someone I love." He whispered, lifting his head.
Katherine smiled, and swallowed hard. "Are you going to leave?" She asked, softly.
He shook his head. "I'm not leaving you ever again." He answered, fervently.
Katherine smiled, and nodded. "Good." She whispered, drifting asleep.
Elijah nodded, as he watched her for a few more moments. No, he wasn't going to leave her. With the exception of killing the man who hurt the woman who owned his heart, he wasn't going to leave her.

Sophie sighed as she entered the small cottage. She moved towards the back room, and smiled as she found a young girl exiting the back room.
"How is she?" She asked, watching the girl smile.
"She's asleep." She replied, quietly.
Sophie nodded, and moved towards the door, and slowly opened it. Seeing the little girl sleeping, she smiled and gently closed the door.
She turned around, and nodded. "Are you alright, Davina?" She asked her.
Davina nodded, and smiled. "I'm fine. You should get some rest. You've had a long day, Ms. Devereux." She whispered, nodding towards the bedroom.
Sophie nodded, and moved towards the room. "I'll see you in the morning." She replied, opening the door.
Davina nodded, and smiled as the door closed behind Sophie. "In the morning." She returned, before returning to her room for a good night's sleep.

Tyler pulled the man's head back, and held the knife to his throat. "I don't care what it takes or how many men; I want you to find them!" He shouted, to the other men, who were shaking in fear.
Tyler lowered his head to the man. "As for you, you let those women escape. You failed me." He replied, moving the knife over the man's throat, and broke the skin until blood flowed from the wound.
The man fell to the ground, and convulsed a few times before finally dying.
Tyler straightened, and glared at the other men. "Get this garbage out of here, and find Caroline!" He yelled, thrusting the bloody knife forward.
"Find Caroline Forbes!"
Please be kind!
I hope you enjoyed it!
I am going to try to get a few more chapters up this week for this story and for Undercover Marshal, but I should warn you that I have classes starting in a few days, so...
