I've gotten behind on my writing, since this past week was when unexpected things at school popped up, and at the end of the day, I was too exhausted to write. I hope you will forgive me.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT! IT TRULY MEANS ALOT!
Please remember to review at the end! :)
Klaus slid out of the bed, and turned his head, to see her sleeping soundly. He sighed, slowly, and shook his head. To do what he needed to do, he had to do it alone.
He quickly dressed, and moved to the door of the bedroom. Opening it slowly, he moved into the hallway.
"Klaus?"
He paused, and bowed his head. He kept his head down, as the door opened wider, and then he turned around to find her clutching the sheet around her body, and her hair disheveled from a night of love. "You should go back to bed, love." He replied, motioning to the room.
Caroline stepped into the hall, and shook her head. "You're going to meet him, aren't you?" She asked, glaring at him.
Klaus sighed, and backed away. "I have to." He replied, backing away from her.
Caroline shook her head. "Klaus, please," She cried, moving towards him.
Klaus paused, and turned back to face her. "There is no other choice, Caroline." He replied, firmly.
She nodded, and placed her hand on his chest. "There is always a choice." She replied, shaking her head.
He swallowed, and shook his head. "Not this time, love." He replied, softly.
Tears filled her eyes, and she shook her head. "You know what he will do." She responded, sadly.
He nodded, and caressed her face. "I'm sorry." He whispered, leaning forward to gently place his lips on hers. "But I have to." He added, kissing her once more, before leaving her, quickly.
Caroline covered her mouth with her hand, and let out a sob. "Klaus!" She shouted, moving as fast as she could with the sheet wrapping down around her legs. "Nik!" She yelled as the front door closed.
She sobbed as she fell down on her knees. She felt the tears fall down her face as the pain of memories rang through her mind.
~Memories~
"You just told me I wouldn't understand, and that you didn't want to talk to me." She stated with a scoff.
Klaus sighed with irritation. "Caroline," He began.
Caroline shook her head, and tried to lurch out of his grasp. "No, Klaus," She interrupted as she struggled against his grasp. "You can't switch your emotions on me like they mean nothing." She added in a struggled breathe.
"Caroline, please," He replied, holding her tightly in his arms. "I want you to understand why I have to challenge Tyler." He added, pain and anger seeping through his words.
Caroline stilled her movements, and placed her hands over his, and sighed. "I understand that, Klaus." She whispered, bowing her head.
Klaus loosened his grip, allowing her to escape his grasp, to turn around and look at him.
"I understand that you have to avenge your brother's death. I understand that you see no other alternative." She stated, throwing her arms out in exaggeration. "I understand everything, Klaus." She added, moving a finger to his tunic covered chest. "But you are just too stubborn to let me understand." She finished, retreating her finger, and then rotated back around to walk further down the banks of the creek.
Klaus shook his head. "Why are you so persistent?" He asked, walking up behind her.
Caroline whirled around, with anger flashing in her eyes. "You call me persistent, when all I want is you? When all I want is for you to be safe?" She shouted in his face.

Caroline straightened her back, and slowly stood up. Wiping her hand over her face, she jogged towards the phone in the apartment, and dialed a number. "Elijah, something's happened. It's Nik." She cried, biting her lip. "He's gone to meet Tyler."

Elijah slammed the phone down, and shook his head. "Damn him." He cried, gripping the table with both hands.
"Elijah?" Katherine asked, entering the room with a confused look on her face.
Elijah lifted his head, and sighed. "Niklaus went to meet Tyler." He replied, shaking his head.
Katherine sighed, and slowly walked towards him. "What are you going to do?" She asked, gingerly leaning on the table.
He sighed. "I have to go after him." He stated, moving away from the table.
Katherine nodded, and sighed. "I know." She replied, softly. She turned her head, and let out another sigh. "Elijah," She called, turning to find him standing in the doorway. "This is what Tyler wants." She replied, moving closer to him. "He wants to destroy Klaus." She added, placing her hands on his chest. "Please be careful." She whispered, her brown orbs searching his.
Elijah nodded, and caressed her face. Leaning down, he kissed her lips, softly, sweetly, before pulling back. "I will." He whispered, kissing her forehead before turning.
"Elijah," She called out, causing him to stop once again. "I love you."
He smiled as he turned to face her. "I love you, Katerina." He returned, sending her a wink before leaving the apartment.
She smiled at his declaration, but shook her head. "Damn that man!" She stated, and grunted when the force pulled her still sore ribs.

Damon felt a hand touch his back and he smiled as he slowly turned around to see her looking up at him. "Come to feed the prisoner?" He asked, watching her shake her head.
Sophie rolled her eyes, and touched his cheek. "You're not a prisoner, Damon. Not anymore, and you know it." She replied, stepping into his embrace.
Damon smiled, and kissed her forehead, lightly. "I know." He whispered, holding her close. "What was Elijah yelling about out there a few moments ago?" He asked, looking down at her.
Sophie sighed, and shook her head. "Klaus received a letter from Tyler, and he went to go meet him." She answered, pulling back.
Damon's heart stilled in his chest, and his face turned white as the blood drained from it. "He didn't." He whispered, pulling away from Sophie, and headed towards the chair in the living room.
"Damon, what is it?" She asked, approaching him, carefully.
Damon bowed his head, and shook it. "I know what Tyler's up to." He stated, lifting his head to look at her. "And Klaus is in danger."
"We know that, Damon. That's why Elijah was throwing the fit." She stated, shaking her head.
Damon frowned, and shook his head. "You don't seem to understand, Sophie." He stated, sighing. "Tyler wants to kill Klaus, after he's used him." He replied, closing his eyes.
"Used him for what?" Sophie asked, kneeling in front of her love.
"He hired a plastic surgeon to turn him into Klaus." He replied, shaking his head. "He wants to fool Caroline into thinking he's Klaus, and when she chooses him, Klaus will die."
Sophie shook her head. "That's impossible. He can't expect to fool Caroline, when Klaus is her soul mate." She stated, firmly.
Damon sighed, and closed his head. "That's his plan, Sophie." He whispered, shaking his head. "And I helped him." He replied, sadly.
"Helped him, how?" She asked, placing her hand's on his legs.
"I found the surgeon to do it." He answered, regrettably. "I destroyed our lives." He added, closing his eyes, and shaking his head.
Sophie shook her head, and leaned forward to wrap her arms around him. "No, you didn't, my love." She whispered, kissing his dark head. "Not intentionally." She added, holding him in the stillness of their apartment.

Caroline paced back and forth, biting the nail off her thumb. How could he be so stupid?
She groaned and threw her head back, as she continued to pace in her apartment.
"Caroline, you're going to wear the floor out." Stefan remarked, standing up from the couch, and approached her.
Caroline shook her head. "I don't care." She stated, moving away from him.
He sighed, and glanced towards Rebekah, who shook her head. "Caroline, Elijah has gone to see if he can stop Klaus."
"Then why didn't you go with them?!" She demanded, fire flashing in her eyes. "Elijah can't stop him by himself!" She shouted, jerking out of his reach.
Stefan shook his head. "I was told to protect you, Caroline." He replied, causing her to shake her head.
"I can protect myself, Stefan." She stated, firmly, glaring at him.
"Caroline, everything is going to be fine." Rebekah replied, standing up. "Elijah will stop Nik before he can reach Tyler, and then we can figure out what to do."
Caroline closed her eyes. "He won't be able to stop him, Rebekah." She whispered, sadly. "Klaus is too stubborn. He wouldn't stay for me."
"That's because he's meeting Tyler for you." Stefan remarked, softly.
Caroline rolled her eyes, and turned towards the small window in her apartment. "Why must everything happen to us?" She asked, softly, fear gripping her soul.
Rebekah touched Stefan's arm, and approached her friend. "Because Tyler is jealous of the love he never had or will have." She answered, softly.
Caroline smiled, and shook her head. "I keep thinking." She began, in a distant tone. "What would have happened if I had never met Niklaus?" She asked, absently. "Would I have had a decent life with Tyler or would I have died, lonely and miserable?" She asked, bowing her head.
Rebekah touched her friend's back, and inhaled deeply. "If Nik had never met you, he would have stayed in his darkness, unable to reach the light, and he probably would not have lived as long as he did." She replied, firmly.
Caroline nodded. "Tyler would have killed him." She whispered, absently. "And I would have missed the chance to meet the man who saw me, and not just a princess." She added, tears beginning to fall down her face. "Oh, God," She cried, her knees beginning to tremble underneath her.
Rebekah nodded, and pulled her friend into her embrace, and held her as Caroline cried.

Klaus entered the small shack just on the outskirts of town, and felt his nerves become alert.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't Prince Niklaus," A voice from the back called out. "So nice of you to join us."
Klaus frowned, and glared into the darkness. "I received your note, Tyler." He stated, stepping further into the room.
Tyler stepped out of the darkness, and sneered at Klaus. "Were you surprised, dear cousin?" He asked, approaching Niklaus. "Were you surprised that I was able to find her?"
Klaus frowned, and shook his head. "I knew you were watching us the moment we entered the city."
"And yet, you didn't feel the need to tell her." Tyler remarked, coldly.
Klaus shook his head. "Why would I?" He asked, with a smirk playing on his lips.
Tyler smiled, devilishly, and shook his head. "Still keeping secrets from her, I see." He replied, with a cold laugh.
"I have no secrets from her, Tyler." Klaus remarked, firmly.
"Oh, then have you told her that we are cousins in this life?" Tyler asked in a taunting voice. "Or that she holds the key to everyone's memories?" He asked, shaking his head, placing his right hand on his chin.
Klaus swallowed, but kept his face stoic.
"Oh, you haven't told her." Tyler taunted.
"She knows about the memories." Klaus remarked, firmly.
Tyler frowned, slightly, but quickly wiped it away. "You didn't tell her about being related."
"Why would she need to know that, Tyler?" Klaus remarked, coldly.
Tyler shrugged his shoulders, and shook his head. "No matter, because when I'm done, she won't even recognize or remember you." He taunted, coldly with satisfaction.
Klaus scoffed. "She'll always remember me." He stated his faith showing in his words.
Tyler stepped forward. "Not this time." He replied, motioning to a man behind them.
Before Klaus could react, a needle was jabbed into his neck, and as he struggled, he felt his body become limp, as he faded into the darkness.

"CAROLINE!" Stefan and Rebekah shouted as Caroline let out a cry, and gripped her chest as she fell to the ground.
Caroline felt a pain hit her chest as if someone had punched her, and she knew before she could think clearly what had happened.
"Tyler has Niklaus." She whispered, before she faded into darkness.
Please be kind!
I know this wasn't as long as I hoped, but I didn't want to put too much in here because the chapter would get overcrowded to me. I still hope to finish this story by tomorrow.
So that means I'll be writing up a storm today and tomorrow. I hope that's okay.
For those who are waiting for the sequel to Undercover Marshal, I hope to get it up and going as soon as this one is finished, which will be tomorrow at the latest. I apologize for the delay.
Next Chapter: Caroline leaves the safety of the apartment to search for Klaus. Bonnie follows her. Elijah is too late. Kol confronts Damon. Tyler tortures Klaus.
Until Next Time...
