Clove's POV

Cato led me back to my dorm.

"Annie wouldn't tell me the story between you and your sister, care to fill me in?"

I sighed. "It's a really long story so you might want to come sit down." I say opening my door and motioning for him to come in. He obediently follows and sit on my bed patting the space next to him for me to come sit but I shake my head slightly deciding to pace instead.

"Me and my sister have never gotten along" I start. He nods.

"When we were little she'd blame everything on me. She'd break our mother's vases for no reason other than to then scream that I did it. She'd go outside and smear mud on her face then make herself cry and run inside telling our mother that I did it. It's safe to say I was soon seen as the problem child while my sister was the perfect golden child. When we were eight she started sneaking in my room and reading my diary, then she'd use the stuff in it to black mail me into taking the blame for things she did. She thought it was riot when I had to confess to flooding the basement and colouring on the walls. When we were 10 she beat this smaller girl to a pulp and then ran to the principle swearing I did it. They checked the security tapes when I tried to deny it but since we are identical they couldn't tell the difference. She did this a few more times and before long I was expelled. My sister got herself arrested a few times for shop lifting and got a bunch of speeding tickets. Every time they asked she'd say she was me. She carried around my driver's licence too. So I have a criminal record, not her, I paid the speeding tickets, not her. My parents truly believed I was the problem child. I had no friends because of her. Every time I made one she'd pretend to be and scream vile things at them and say she hated them, effectively scaring them away. When we were 14 I was in love with this guy names Cody. He was my first boyfriend and my sister kissed him. It's safe to say my sister had more boy experience then me. She knew how to talk and act and all that stuff better than I did. Once she knew he loved her, she told him the truth. That she wasn't me. He left me. And wasn't she just ecstatic when Brutus wouldn't let me leave. When he hurt me, she was thrilled. They became good friends after we broke up, successfully keeping him in my life. She hates me and she has made me miserable on countless occasions, and I hate her too."

I look at him shyly, not knowing what he'll think of me now. To my surprise he's already standing. I'm overwhelmed by the fear that he's leaving but instead he envelops me in a hug.

"I won't let her hurt you ever again." He mumbles into my hair. Then there a knock at the door. I look towards it.

"Miss Clove? I'm going to need you to come speak to me in my office again." I recognize the voice of Miss Trinket. I sigh.

"Coming" I say slipping out of Cato's arms. "I'm coming too" Cato states. I smile at him and grab his hand, leading him out of the room and to the waiting Effie Trinket. We walked in silence all the way to her office. "Is it necessary that Mr Cato be here?" she asked trying to remain in a polite tone but I could hear the slight displeasure in her voice.

"Yes" Cato replied shortly. Miss Trinket nodded.

"Fine then." She replied leading us into her office and shutting the door.

"I hear you got in another fight Clove" she said solemnly. I nod.

"But in my defence I was trying to walk away and Vera wouldn't let go of my wrist. I was just trying to get her to let go. It's not my fault she hit me." I muttered. Miss Effie sighed.

"I'm going to need you to go to detention for a week. And write a paper on why violence is wrong. Also your sister is no longer permitted to visit. "

I nodded trying to act regretful on the outside but on the inside I was throwing a party. Vera is gone and I don't have to see her for the rest of the year! Halleluiah! And I don't have to worry about her being around Cato any more. Cato squeezes my hand. I smile at him briefly.

"I understand Miss Trinket. I'm very sorry for my actions. "

Miss Trinket nods and points at the door signify we can leave.

"Wait" Cato says. "I want detention too."

Miss Trinket shakes her head rolling her eyes. "Whatever you have detention too, congratulations" she says sarcastically and it's the only time I've ever heard her speak with anything but a polite voice. But I smile anyways.

"Thanks" me and Cato say at the same time then smile at each other.

As we walk out of the office Cato says "Well Miss Clove may I escort you to detention" He says it in such a corny gentlemanly way holding out his arm. I laugh and loop my arm through his.

"Why Mr Cato I believe you may."
