It had been two hours since Madeline had appeared suddenly upon the school grounds and right now the fully healed woman was sitting in Faragondas office with the Alfea teachers around her and Bloom sitting beside her mother worriedly.
"Alright Ms. Madeline. Mind informing us what happened that caused you to appear so suddenly above our school?" Faragonda asked looking over the top of her glasses lens at the woman who smiled at her.
"I don't know how I appeared above the school here. Last I recall I was about to sacrifice myself to save my students, and the rest of the people in our universe which is a ways outside of yours from what I know. My last thoughts before passing out were about not being able to see Bloom here one last time before I died. Next thing I know I'm waking up here." Madeline said shrugging her shoulders and causing Bloom to look startled at the fact that her mother had been about to sacrifice herself.
"Was sacrificing yourself the only way mama?" Bloom asked looking horrified while Madeline shook her head.
"No but I didn't have enough time to channel my magical power to seal it. It would have disrupted my magic to early and the backlash would have killed the students and myself. At least with the sure fire way of sacrificing myself, my students would have managed to survive." Madeline said causing Bloom to wince slightly at the thought of her mama dying without knowing.
"Risking your life to protect your students… you'd fit right in with the teachers here." Griselda said with a snort, causing the other teachers to nod in agreement.
"We've all risked our lives or nearly died protecting some of our students in one way or another. Especially during the last war when the schools were prime places for either recruitment or attacking." DuFour calmly explained to Madeline and Bloom who were both looking at the teachers with similar confused looks on their faces. They could see how the two were related now. Not only did they both have light colored hair, but they also had similar facial expressions not that that many people would notice something like that anyways.
"You said that you were a teacher for magical and non magical fighting correct, Ms. Madeline?" Faragonda asked looking at the grown woman who nodded slightly.
"She sure is. Mama taught me almost all of the tricks I know!" Bloom spoke up vouching for her mother who just shrugged slightly under the impressed looks she was getting for this. Bloom was known to be the strongest student at Alfa for a reason after all.
"If that doesn't vouch for her teaching skills I don't know what does. As long as her illness doesn't act up then Ms. Bloom can probably take on several of us in a fight and win, or at least make it a draw." Wizgiz said causing the either teachers to nod in agreement while Madeline's head snapped around towards her daughter.
"Illness? You still have your tuberculosis? So there wasn't any antidote for it here either?" Madeline asked causing Bloom to sigh slightly.
"Yes mama. I still have my tuberculosis and no there wasn't any antidote for it. Although they do have this lovely spell that lightens up the pain it puts on my chest when I have an attack." Bloom said frowning at first before smiling slightly at the end.
"You known think this is the most I've ever seen you smile before Ms. Bloom. You usually have your stoic façade in place too often." Palladium noted as he looked at Bloom who wiped the smile off of her face at this while Madeline stared at her daughter sadly.
"You still use that mask? I understand Bloom, but I'm glad that you at least seem to be thawing out slightly in this new environment." Madeline said settling a hand on her daughters thin, bony shoulder.
"Until you find a way to return to your solar system why don't you work here at Alfa as a teacher? I'm sure the girls could do learning a few physical exercises at the least." Faragonda asked looking at Madeline, although she filed away what just happened in the back of her mind, who blinked at her.
"There's no way to return to our system, a veil separates it from the rest of the universe. Trust me. I've looked and tried. It's possible for some of them to come over here somehow, but not for anyone to return there." Bloom pointed out stoically, causing the teachers to sigh. They had been getting used to her lowering her façade around them and now it was back in place, at least that was a new record though. She kept it down for at least five full hours.
"Then allow me to extend an invitation for you to work here for as long as you wish Ms. Madeline. If the things Bloom's shown us she could do are any indication then Alfa will be lucky to gain someone with skills like yours." Faragonda said causing Madeline to smile slightly.
"I think I might take you up on that offer headmistress. If nothing else than because I love teaching, and it'll allow me to remain close to Bloom." Madeline said wrapping an arm around her daughters shoulders and pulling her into a semi-hug.
"Then allow me to be the first to welcome you to the Alfea faculty staff! We're glad to have you. I'm afraid that Griselda, my deputy, and the other teachers will have to take the introductions from here though." Faragonda said sighing as she glared at a corner of her desk that had some papers appearing on it, growing in size rapidly and causing Madeline to wince in sympathy.
"Paperwork?" Madeline asked causing Faragonda to nod sulkily. Most of the teachers snorted in agreement and amusement with Bloom's dry comment.
"Ah the ban of every universe and job no matter what you do. Have fun."
