Hello again! Kathy is torturing that fairy in a way that is both concerning and extremely profitable. I've had this idea for quite some time, and I just now found myself able to type it out, so here we go!
This was (somewhat) requested by my sweet Hektols, who shall henceforth be known as The-one-who-ruins-all-dreams-and-stories (this will be explained momentarily) when he said, back in APRIL:
"...It would be funny to see a chapter takes the Bijuu Form to introduce Kurama to his family."
And while I didn't do the entire family, I sort of did this in this chapter just with Hinata.
Tada!
Since their first picnic date had ended up a rousing success, Naruto figured that a good thing was great thing and they continued the picnics at least once a month to have some alone time and get to know each other better. Naruto even had an idea of what to do when it got cold, and it involved those soup cups filled with hot ramen and a blanket and cuddling if they could get past Hinata's habit of fainting.
He could only think that he would really like cuddling with Hinata.
They were on one of their picnics, just laying back in the shade to let their food settle as they talked, and Naruto couldn't remember ever being more happy and content. He couldn't remember ever being content, actually, and it was a good feeling.
"You know, I talk to Kurama about you sometimes." He said conversationally and easily as if it were no big deal. And it wasn't. They had talked about Kurama before, about what he had went through as a vessel for the nine tails and what it was like being able to talk to him in his head. It was easy to talk to Hinata because she just listened and didn't interrupt or tell him he was being stupid and she was just... He had found out pretty quickly that Hinata was just great.
"O-Oh?"
"Yeah. Sometimes at night when he's bored we talk and we sometimes end up on you." He tilted his head to look at her where she was laying beside him and grinned. "I think he likes you."
She blushed slightly—really, how had he not noticed how cute she was earlier—and he laughed as he ignored the irritated growl that sounded in the back of his mind from his embarrassed tenant.
The sudden thought that he had just embarrassed the ancient and powerful nine tailed demon fox was enough to make him laugh harder and longer. When he finally calmed down enough, he noticed that Hinata had sat up and was now playing with her fingers in that nervous way she had that told him she wanted to say something.
"A-Ano... Naruto-kun... Do... Do you think t-that I c-could s-see y-your seal?" She asked, her voice getting smaller and smaller as she had gotten closer to the end of the question, but he had heard her.
"Do you want to?" He had never really thought that she would, but he guessed that she was curious. "Okay." He pulled his shirt off, not really thinking about just pulling it up enough for her to see until it was too late, but when he saw just how red she was and how cute she looked trying to look anywhere but at him only to end up ogling his chest he had to grin.
Still grinning he closed his eyes for long enough to focus his chakra into the seal so that it flared to life, the thick black lines painting his stomach. Rightly sensing that she would be too embarrassed to do anything if he was watching her, he leaned back onto his hands and stared off into the trees, and as he was wondering what kind of ramen he should order for his afternoon snack he felt the barest whisper of cool fingertips lightly tracing the lines of his seal.
He looked down to see that her face was close to the seal, her forehead furrowed as she studied it, tracing her fingers lightly and gently along its lines as if she was afraid she would do something to harm it if she was too firm.
His abdominal muscles contracted beneath her touch, tensing and twitching as she unknowingly continued on with her study. He suddenly found himself blushing as he realized he was just leaning back, shirtless, and Hinata was touching him. While he was shirtless.
And they were alone.
Hinata's eyes lifted from the seal and met with his and suddenly she jumped backwards, snatching her hand back, and they just sat there not looking at each other and blushing like crazy.
As Naruto hurriedly pulled his T-shirt on, he heard the gruff laughter of Kurama—at his expense—and could only huff and pout.
Stupid fox.
He was obsessively straitening out his shirt and ignoring Hinata as if it would somehow just make all of the embarrassment and blushing go away when a gruff voice suddenly interrupted his thoughts. He didn't really like it, his frown showed that, but he still turned to his girlfriend with a sigh with the thought that Kurama had to have a reason.
"Hey, Hinata-chan?"
"Y-Yes Naruto-kun?"
"Kurama wants to know if you want to talk to him."
Her head whipped around comically so that she could stare at him wide-eyed and unsure if he was joking or not until he nodded, showing that he was telling the truth. Then, seeing that this wasn't just some weird joke, she sat up straight and straightened her clothes, fidgeting and straightening until she felt everything was perfect, and Naruto didn't know whether to be amused or annoyed that she was putting forth so much effort just to meet the stupid fox.
"O-Okay. I-I'm ready."
Naruto barely had the time to sigh before his consciousness was moved to the back of his mind and Kurama took his place.
She could tell when he took over instantly. Naruto's whisker marks deepened, his hair became wilder and when his eyes opened they were sharper and red. He also sat up straight, fixing the slight slump Naruto always sat with, and he looked directly at her.
He was more imposing, and there was a slight aura of sharp intelligence and nobility around him that relaxed her somewhat, because it was no longer Naruto.
But instead he was an immortal and seemingly all powerful demon, so she wasn't too at ease.
"You want to say something." He said in a voice that was gruffer than Naruto's, making her jump. But she nodded, playing with her fingers slightly as she tried to figure out how to say what she wanted to say. "Get on with it." He growled, making her jump again.
"I-I just w-wanted to t-thank you f-for taking care of N-Naruto-kun and helping s-save us during the war, despite what p-people thought of you, Kurama-sama." She quickly said, bowing her head. When she looked up, he was grinning.
"You have better manners than the kit, which I like." He said, and Hinata blushed brightly and furiously as she tried to decide what to say to that. Though, before she could Naruto was back, pouting grumpily as he grumbled to himself.
"Stupid fox... Making my Hinata blush... Only I can do that." He muttered to himself. The sound of the fox's laughter was annoying him, so just to prove a point he reached out and grabbed Hinata, pulling her to him and wrapping his arms around her as he fumed.
Hinata 'eeped', blushing furiously as Naruto squeezed her tightly and possessively. After a few moments of hyperventilating she began to calm down a bit, or just enough to realize that Naruto was holding her and that she needed to do something other than fainting.
Slowly, hesitantly, she raised her arms up to wrap them lightly around him in turn, tucking herself into him just a little closer and resting her head on his chest. Naruto still hadn't noticed what she was doing since he was still muttering to himself about flirting foxes, so a little more emboldened she snuggled in, breathing in deeply the smell of Naruto. Ramen and grass and something... warm. She didn't know what it was, but she liked it.
She liked it a lot.
Naruto finally calmed down enough to realize that he had just randomly grabbed Hinata and that she was probably freaking out by now. He was pretty close to freaking out. So he slowly looked down to see that her eyes were closed, and at first he thought that she had passed out. Again. But then on a closer look and after noticing that her lips were curved up into a smile and that her breathing was even and deep, he figured out that she was just sleeping. His smile that came at this grew even bigger when, after making a kind of purring murmur, she snuggled closer, tightening her hold on him.
Naruto lay back and brought her just a bit closer, and closing his eyes he chuckled at the realization that he had been right.
He really liked cuddling with Hinata.
After all that time of threatening to break free of Naruto and destroying him and everything that he loves only to end up liking him, I think that poor Kurama might get bored. So as the two get closer, I think he might like to mess with Naruto a bit, just to pass the time. And an easy way to do this would be through Hinata.
Now! About The-one-who-ruins-all-dreams-and-stories! He said in passing in his comment for the last chapter:
"It would be good to explain why they didn't get in contact with the weasels and asked them if Temari was alive and use reverse summoning to bring her back."
Well now, I can't do that. BECAUSE I DIDN'T THINK OF THAT. Is that possible? If it is, there was absolutely no reason for them not to do it. The entire story line is now officially ruined. RUINED. Thank you.
Well, we're just going to completely ignore this until I figure something out. And don't worry dearest one, I'm not mad.
Much.
And a point that I forgot, and one that others seemed to have forgotten:
1) I used the name Jin previously for the boy who went on that mission with Temari. But we'll move on from this. It has now became a fairly popular name in Konoha.
2) Pochiri was actually introduced in chapter 39, Raining Cats and Dogs.
I'll be seeing you, my lovelies! (Oh! I just realised that I wrote about team 13 in chapter 113! Hahaha! Coincidences amuse me.)
