Why Goddess, you must be thinking to yourselves, whatever are you doing back so soon? It's only been thirty minutes.

Well, my darlings, this is just a little idea I have had for quite some time that finally straightened itself out, so I typed it up just for you.

Tada! Bask in the glow of my awesome skills!

Now then, Momo and Kaya are both in their twenties here (guesstimatingly). Mino is twenty-six or seven, and Kaya is either twenty or twenty one.

Mino watched from the opening between the living room and the hall as his family, the truly wonderful people they were, helped Kaya settle in in their own special ways. His father and Leo were teasing her, making her blush lightly but smile, Yuki was asking her about the tea shop which was something nice and familiar to get her relaxed, and Yuka was talking about her students and some of their more hilarious shenanigans.

He'd been worried, just for a minute, about what they would think about the first and only girl he had ever brought to the family dinner to meet them, or what sweet Kaya would think about his loud and boisterous family, but now, watching them he could fully appreciate how stupid he had been.

Of course his family would like her, they were the most amazingly open people in the world, and the fact that he had actually brought her to them and had formally introduced her to them in such a way had made them ecstatic.

Leo's childish song he had hummed under her breath during dinner of, "Mino likes a girl~ Mino likes a girl~" Came to his mind as he thought this over.

And Kaya, well... Who wouldn't like his family? They were great, and amazingly friendly and they all had the ability to put anyone at ease.

At least when the louder more opinionated members weren't off pissing someone off, but he knew that that wouldn't be happening tonight, and he had already warned her about Yuka and Leo, so that was fine.

"She's a very sweet girl." His mother murmured from where she had quietly walked up behind him, and he turned to her with a gentle smile where his feelings the girl they were talking about were evident, a smile that he would only ever show to a small number of people, most of which who were in the room.

"Yes." He said quietly, glancing back as the familiar sound of her laughter filled the air.

Hinata watched him for a moment, her sweet little baby that shined with so very many parts of her, and as she watched the loving expression that he made as he watched his family and his girlfriend interact, she realized with no small amount of wistfulness that that baby of hers had grown up.

Unable and unwilling to resist the urge, she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him, pulling him into a hug that he readily and gently returned. She pulled away with the realization that a small part of her wanted to cry.

"You know," She laughed lightly, "I had always thought you would end up with Momo, and I'm quite sure Ino was crushed when she discovered that it wouldn't happen." She chuckled lightly at the memory and was about to walk into the room to join the rest of her family when she noticed Mino's perplexed face.

"Momo?" He asked, his forehead furrowing as he tried to figure out where that had come from. "Why would you think that?"

Hinata blinked at him for a moment before chuckling and shaking her head, smiling at him gently.

"You really are so much like your father." She laughed, shaking her head a bit and smiling as she turned and entered the room to get to know Kaya a bit better herself.

Mino watched her go, blinking a bit in shock since he had never heard anyone say that about him before. He wasn't certain if she had meant it in a good way either, and he certainly hadn't figured out what she meant by the thing with Momo.

Well, there we go.

Someone mentioned in their review of last chapter (hello dear!) a few things about the past chapters, and I have to say that I am so happy Shikamaru isn't dead, and that he becoming Naruto's adviser is a great idea!

I didn't do that.

I thought about it, and in my head Naruto definitely asks him about a lot of stuff, but I just didn't put him down as the adviser. Why?

I don't know.

Oh well, lets move on.
