Olivia woke up relatively early on the Saturday. She just wanted to give the place a quick clean before she started with dinner. She had gone to the shop last night after work and got all the stuff she needed for tonight. Olivia put on the television for some background noise and then got to work. She had had a relatively good week by recent standards, apart from the funeral. She was grateful that Friday had been a slow day.
The day went as smoothly as she had planned and by the time Brian knocked on her door, there were pleasant aromas filling the air.
'Hi, Bri.' She smiled as she opened the door.
'Wow, this place smells good.' Olivia chuckled.
'Say what you want, you have to wait till the others arrive before you get any.'
Without thinking Brian kissed her on the cheek.
'Shucks Liv, I'm sorry. I….'
'No Bri. That was okay.'
'I didn't even think…'
'Bri, that was nice. I mean I'm not ready for anything more but that actually felt good.'
'Yeah?'
'Yeah.'
'Okay, so what is left to be done?' He decided not to put too emphasis on what just happened. If she was good with it, so was he.'
'Um, I just want to make a green salad and then I think we are ready.'
The couple decided to work together on the salad. As they were working in the kitchen and speaking about their days, Olivia smiled to herself. This felt good. It felt normal. She was getting her life back on track. Yeah, sure she knew there were going to be bumps in the road as she continued on this journey but she was going to get there.
'Hey babe, the others will be here in a bit, why don't you take a few minutes and freshen up. I'll clean up here.'
Olivia smirked. This would be too easy.
'Brian, what are you saying?' She stood with her hands on her hips. 'Are you saying I need to freshen up?'
'No babe. That's not what I meant.'
'Really? So what were you trying to say?' She was trying her best to keep a straight face.
'You know what I meant Liv.' Brian said very flustered.
That was her undoing. She burst out laughing.
'Cruel Liv. Just cruel.' He said as he grabbed the dish cloth and walked in her direction.
Olivia was quicker than he was and dashed out of the kitchen and ran towards her bedroom.
'Working in IAB must be making you slow there detective Cassidy.' She said as she closed the door.
Brian stood in the middle of the living area shaking his head and chuckling. 'Welcome back Liv' he said as he walked into the kitchen.
Hi guys. I'm sorry it took me so long to upload the last two chapters. But I really enjoyed writing my first fanfiction! I've already got 11 chapters of the next story, dealing with the court case of Lewis, is written. It will take me a few weeks before I am ready to start posting so I hope you will be tuning in to read that. I do enjoy receiving comments!
Cheers for now!
