POKEMON FINAL LIGHT: SHATTERED INNOCENCE

"Gregory 'Python' Williams"

"Operation: Hell Fire"

"Contact left!"

"We got snipers in the apartment building!"

"We got Hind incoming!"

"Damn it all this is going to hell in a hand basket!" a soldier by the name of Gregory 'Python' Williams thought as the war in Cape Town Raged on. He held his M4A1 rifle in his hands and fired back at the Militia coming from the warehouse. He was part of Omega Team. His codename comes from his sidearm being a Colt Python Revolver, Stainless Steel barrel and a Black wood finish. It was a powerful sidearm, and it saved him more than a few times. He spotted two Technicals driving fro up the road, both armed with Fifty Cal machine guns. The two opened up on his location, he ducked behind some rocks as the bullets ripped into it, sending shards of rock and stone into the air.

Python's squad was sent in to obtain some information pertaining to a wanted terrorist named Murdoch, who was supposedly planning something, what that was no one knew. Their Intel just said he was Ex-Spetnaz, Russian Special Forces. He was cut loose for unknown reasons.

"Take out those Technicals!" someone yelled, gunfire erupted from several buildings and Python saw his friends cut down like they were nothing.

"Fuck this!" Python yelled as he jumped out of cover, he aimed his rifle at the first technical and opened up on it, killing the driver and the gunner before sliding into cover. He pulled out a grenade from his belt and pulled the pin, counting to three he tossed it behind him before killing a pistol wielder running out of cover next to him, getting up he ran over picked up the pistol and ran into cover again just as the truck exploded. A massive plume of fire and smoke shot into the sky, sending debris in every direction. He realized his rifle was empty and ejected the magazine before loading in a fresh one, over head he saw several Hind Choppers circling the area, "damn it," he cursed as he started to run into different cover.

The streets of Cape Town were filled with burning cars and destroyed buildings, screams filled the air from civilians running away from the fight, but all of Cape Town was at war. There wasn't any easy escape. In the distance some explosions went off, plumes of fire flew into the sky and gunfire was all around him. Raising his rifle he started down the road, killing any militia soldier who so much as looked at him. The whole area was swarming with Murdoch's soldiers, they came in from all directions and given Murdoch's influence they were given some very good equipment. Advanced firearms and helicopters, hell he saw some T-90's rolling down the highway not too long ago.

He heard his radio crackle and took cover in a small house, the occupants long gone or dead, he closed the door and went upstairs and knelt down before hitting his communicator, "Python here," he answered.

"Python, this is Ghost!" the British Voice yelled over the airwaves, Python could hear gunfire and explosions and knew he was in trouble, but given his reputation and skill he could handle himself, "have you and Omega found Murdoch's location yet?"

"My team's dead sir," he replied, all of his friends were cut down, he was the sole survivor of Omega Squad, "I'm all that's left."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Ghost told him, "but you can greave about them later, right now we need to find Murdoch!"

Python heard some commotion outside and saw a line of vehicles driving past the house he was in, walking over and looking out of the blinded window he saw several heavy duty trucks passing by, as well as some Technicals constructed out of old Ford F-150s.

"I know," he whispered, "I'm seeing a convoy right now, headed west up the road."

"That must be Murdoch's convoy, don't let them out of your sight!" Ghost yelled as a loud explosion rang out, cutting off the feed to his radio.

"Damn it," moving away from the window he exited the room and went down stairs and proceeded through the backdoor, he saw the convoy moving up slow, whatever they were carrying must be heavy if its slowing them down, "alright, lead me to Murdoch." He then followed them down the road, intent of finding this terrorist.

Up the road a ways

Ghost was under heavy fire, and by heavy fire I mean several fifty cal's and AK's all baring down on his position. He was a very skilled soldier, but this was too much. His mask was stained with blood from both his head wound and blood spatters from his enemies, his armaments consisted of a Famas Rifle and a Glock pistol, both of which were running out of ammo fast. Aiming his rifle he took down two soldiers armed with AK's, both dropping like flies. And to his luck one of the soldiers he killed tripped over a rock and landed next to him, his head smacking against a rock and him dropping his rifle. "I'll take that, thanks." He grabbed the AK, his Famas had just run out so the AK will come in handy.

Ducking out of cover he shot at the two trucks as several Hind's made a pass, firing their Vulcan cannons and tearing his original cover to shreds. Moving fast he ran across what little cover he had and vaulted over a burned out car and just as he jumped through a window one of the Hinds exploded in midair, sending chopper blades down to the ground impaling one of the trucks and the unfortunate driver. The other chopper started to book but an RPG from one of the buildings downed it, it spiraled down and crashed into one of the buildings, exploding and causing the entire apartment complex to crumble into dust.

Ghost peered out of the window, seeing the soldiers running for it and several Humvees drive up he carefully made his way outside, aiming his rifle and killing one of the Militia soldiers with a headshot. One of the soldiers exited the humvee and he was relieved and surprised to see an old friend, "Well if it ain't MacTavish, Goddamn am I glad to see you." Ghost greeted him.

Captain John MacTavish turned around, and spotted his first and right hand man Ghost, "Good to see you Ghost," the two shared a handshake and the Captain asked, "have you located Murdoch yet?"

"No," shaking his head he listened to the gunfire all around him, and the distant yells of enemy soldiers, "I haven't got anything."

"What about Omega?" MacTavish questioned, he heard they were sent in to find out more about Murdoch and his plans involving Makarov.

"They're all dead except for one, Python," Ghost informed him, "He's following a Convoy west, my radio's knocked out so I don't know if he's dead or not."

As the two cut their conversation short Python was still following the convoy, he'd been following them for almost an hour now and finally they stopped outside what looked like a large warehouse. Two stories and the northern half was falling in, from the looks of the place it was decrepit and run down like most of the buildings in Cape Town, yet this is where the Convoy was headed.

Python took up a position in one of the surrounding buildings on the second story and pulled out his binoculars, peering through them he saw the trucks pull to a stop just outside. The massive doors on the front suddenly opened, pulling to the side and allowing two of the three trucks to drive inside, one of them however stayed outside.

What the soldier of Omega didn't see, was the one he and his team was sent after.

Murdoch got out of the truck that went inside and ventured over to a stack of shipping crates, there he spotted his partner, Vladimir Makarov. The man was dressed in a black suit and tie and wore a vest over it, in his shoulder holster was a Desert Eagle. His green/blue eyes locked on Murdoch's and he asked, "were you followed?"

Murdoch shook his head, "no," the two then started walking over to the end of one shipping crate, "I do not think so."

Makarov stopped in his tracks, slowly turning to face his partner his eyes to radiate pure evil, "you think?"

The Russian spy gulped, "no no, I mean I was not followed, I am sure of it." he reassured his comrade, beads of sweat trailed down his brow, it was obvious he was nervous when dealing with Makarov. With no regard for human life, he'd gun him down if he felt like it. Makarov seemed satisfied… more or less with his answer however, he continued towards the shipping crate and gestured to it, "what is this?"

Makarov looked at the container, his eyes looking at the steel crate as he answered, "an edge."

The Terrorist Murdoch tilted his head, "what do you mean by this my friend?" he asked, an edge?

Makarov whistled sharply, two soldiers appeared from behind the crate and opened it, the doors making a loud creaking noise. The hinges were rusted, and on the side were faded words reading Ark Zero Research.

Once it was opened inside sat several small metallic crates, and some large looking cylinder containers and on a table sat a briefcase. Makarov walked inside, turning around he gestured for Murdoch to enter, once he did Makarov opened the briefcase, inside Murdoch saw several small capsules and an injector gun.

"What is that?"

"This," he picked up the gun, inside a capsule was already loaded containing a blood red liquid, "is what will give us the edge we need in this war." Behind him Alexei Borodin, one of Makarov's new men stepped in. The leader of the Ultranationalists turned to him, "Load up these onto the chopper," he ordered, "it's time we begin."

"Begin what?"

"… Operation Hell Fire," he said, he then placed the injector gun back in the briefcase and closed it. Once he did he picked it up and started for his chopper.

Outside Python was watching the guards outside, they moved about with their rifles checking for anyone who may be nearby like himself, and once he saw Makarov he grabbed his radio, "This is Python, I have confirmation on Makarov! I repeat I have confirmation on Makarov and Murdoch! They're both at the large warehouse near the docks!" he whispered into the radio harshly, he hoped they heard it, "Request immediate assistance ASAP!"

"Makarov?" MacTavish gawked, "Holy shit, guys we got Makarov! Move move move!" he then said, "Stall Makarov for as long as you can! But don't kill him, we need him alive. Everyone converge on Python location NOW!"

"Roger, Python out." With that done he looked for a way, seeing the truck and its somewhat exposed gas tank he raised his rifle and aimed down his sights, and praying to the goddess Mew it hit, he targeted one of the trucks fuel tanks once he spotted it he fired and prayed it hit. As if it was guided by Mew herself the bullet hit the tank head on and caused it to explode.

The truck went up in flames, taking several of Murdoch's soldiers with it and setting fire to the technical next to it. "Sweet business!" But now his location was compromised, all the soldiers in the area fired on the building he was situated inside of. AK's, Shotguns, RPG's, Snipers, the works, "okay maybe a bad idea?"

Overhead he heard a chopper, several actually. Looking from where he was crouched he saw several Hind attack choppers and a large transport chopper, they were headed for the docks. "Crap!" he ducked down when one of the Hinds turned to fire on him, the Vulcan cannons ripped the structure apart overhead sending small fragments of the ceiling down onto his body, he got back up and ran down the stairs as the building was fired on by missiles.

Once he made it outside he popped smoke grenades and used the smoke as cover so he could make his way across the road, the militia fired into the smoke but thankfully they missed him by several feet, their aim was poor.

After almost tripping over a large empty water bottle he ducked behind a truck and carefully made his way through an alleyway, he could still hear the choppers and if he was going to stall Makarov he needed to down them.

But how, maybe he could snag one of their RPG's?

"That could work." He guessed, running out into cover next to a Technical, "maybe?" he wasn't sure where there would be one though, then he looked behind him at the truck. The gun wasn't a fifty cal, it was a TOW Launcher! "…that's convenient." Holstering his gun he got into the truck and started it up, once the engine roared to life he slammed the pedal onto the floor and sped out into the open, and headed for the docks.

As he did that, Ghost and MacTavish, along with about fifty or more soldiers were heading to the docks. Makarov was a high value target, so they couldn't let him get away, not now. Ghost rode shotgun in the lead Humvee with MacTavish at the helm, "contact command and tell em we have Makarov's location!" he told Ghost.

The soldier tapped his earpiece, "Overlord actual this is Ghost, come in!"

"This is Overlord actual, what's your status Ghost."

"Overlord we have the location of Makarov and Murdoch, they're at the Docks in Cape Town, Requesting reinforcements now, over!"

"Roger that Ghost, Reinforcements inbound to the Docks, ETA five minutes."

He nodded and turned to Scotsman as he swerved to avoid hitting a car, "We got reinforcements coming, they'll be at the docks in five minutes."

"Good," Mactavish commented, speeding the humvee up, "let's just hope we get there in time to stop him."

At the docks several transport choppers were lifting up several steel shipping crates and carrying them off, to where only Makarov knows. Once his personal chopper landed a technical shot up the ramp and crashed into another one, both were rendered useless now.

Makarov looked over and pulled out his gun, "what the fuck?"

Inside the truck Python got out and quickly got into the back where he got onto the TOW launcher, aiming it he fired and once both terrorists realized it was at them, they both ran away as their chopper was dealt with. The missile flew through the air and hit the helicopter, sending debris and parts flying into the air, and killing the pilots inside.

Makarov growled, "damn it, they're here sooner than I expected." He held up his gun and fired at the young soldier, his bullets missing and hitting the rusted frame alerting Python.

The soldier ducked down and hopped off onto the other side as the other militants fired on the truck, 5.56 NATO rounds ripping through the rusty and aged metal, several bullets were getting a bit too close for the Python's comfort.

"Python!" Ghost's lightly accented voice called, "Python! Come in!"

"This is Python!" The man in question replied, blindly firing his gun over the bed of the truck, "Whaddya want?!"

"We're coming in over the southern hill!" the man yelled into the radio, the soldier looked over near the hill behind him and saw the front of the humvee driving up over, then he saw the others following after. The convoy of military vehicles drove down the hill kicking up dirt and dust, the fifty's baring down on Makarov's men killing them without giving them any chance to fight back let alone raised their weapons.

Makarov growled in distaste, he was going to kill whoever did this. Raising his pistol he fired at the lead humvee, the 44 magnum round cracking the glass killing the driver inside and causing it to flip. It spiraled across the sand and crashed into a small fuel truck before exploding in a brilliant explosion. Python ducked behind a divider as debris and shrapnel impaled several unlucky terrorists, they were killed instantly.

Soon enough the military surrounded the area, Apaches moved in taking out enemy choppers moving in from the city, they were sent spiraling down into the ocean, sinking down below and drowning the trapped Pilots. Tanks tore apart nearby buildings and several soldiers poured in from the area, they wanted to make sure they caught the man responsible for worldwide terror.

Makarov and Murdoch realized their current situation and knew there was no escape, Ghost and MacTavish made their way over to the two, aiming their guns as several apaches surrounded the two, winds gusting up and kicking up sand and dirt. "Throw down your weapons!" Ghost yelled, firing a shot near Murdoch's foot, the Russian yelped and dropped his gun before falling to the ground and putting his hands behind his head.

Makarov didn't even flinch, "took your time." he commented to the soldiers as MacTavish came over and hit him in the stomach hard with the butt of his rifle, causing him to fall down.

"You're under arrest buddy," the man told him, kicking him in the stomach and aiming his gun at his head, "cuff him." he ordered.

Ghost came over and pulling out a pair of steel cuff he took Makarov's hands and cuffed him, tight and held him down as several more soldiers came over and took the two into custody. Choppers flew over doing a sweep of the area as Tanks move in to secure the area, Soldiers cleared out the warehouses killing enemy soldiers as Python came out of cover. His uniform was stained with blood and his gun was out of ammo, his helmet fell off revealing dark brown hair, "so this is the asshole?" he asked, breathing heavily as sweat matted his hair to his skull, "doesn't look like much, and I thought he would be taller."

MacTavish turned around and walked over to the young man, "Python?" the soldier nodded, "nice to meet ya, name's MacTavish." He turned around and gestured to ghost, "that's Ghost, mean bastard he is."

"Damn straight."

MacTavish chuckled lightly before turning back to Python, "you did a good job kid," he said, patting hi on the shoulder, "thanks to you we finally got the sonofvabitch," looking into Gregory's eyes he added, "I'll see to it you get promoted for this."

Python stood up straight and sighed before grinning, "Awesome," he exclaimed silently before falling down, landing on his butt as he dropped his rifle, "though, I think I want to get medical attention, then take a Furlough, sir."

MacTavish smiled as he knelt down, "you'll get both," he told him, giving him a thumbs up as Python fell back and laid down, Medics arrived soon after and began taking care for the wounded.

Earth's Lower Orbit – ARKSAT No2

"First Sighting"

Space, the final frontier…

Wait.

Wrong one...

Orbiting the earth was one of ARK's satellites, ARKSAT No2. One of the many orbiting the planet, and one of the many responsible for deep space telemetry, and one of the few that's true purpose is disguised in pretty colors and shiny metal.

Onboard the station stood one of the long term scientists, donning a light blue jumpsuit and black boots. Around his waist was a belt with three pouches, and one large square box. On the front of his jumpsuit on the right shoulder was the symbol of ARK, along with his name which read 'Kevin' He walked through the station with a neutral expression on his face, not showing any emotion whatsoever. The man was headed for the observation deck of the craft.

Walking through the narrow corridor he passed by several doors leading into rooms, most were quarters for the other personal on board. Kevin passed by his before turning down another corridor and entering the observation deck, what appeared before was a massive dome made of thick plexiglass manufactured for viewing purposes. Looking around the room he spotted various equipment sitting about for recording data and space telemetry, looking to his left he spotted his partner Theodore Westfield.

"Bout time you came up Kev," the tan man remarked, rubbing his temples as he spotted another solar flare through his equipment, the orange/red tendrils snaking across the sun's surface and looping around before dissipating, only to reappear seconds later, "thought you jumped out of the station."

"I'm not that loopy," Kevin replied, sitting down at his station before adding, "not yet, anyway." Looking down at his computer he remembered several stories about people going nuts up in stations like these, losing their minds and either escaping the station by jumping out into space or venting the atmosphere and killing all those aboard. Kevin heard something like that happened on the very craft he works on, though that was twenty years ago.

Theodore turned around and typed away at his computer terminal, "did you read the recent reports of the flare?" he asked Kevin.

"No, what about it, aside from it being bright as fuck?"

Hitting a few keys he sent the data over to Kevin's terminal, "take a look."

Kevin brought up the file and opened it and began reading it as new information came in. The info he was reading was real tie, so new data came in every few seconds, it took a trained eye to understand it, and luckily he was trained for this. Numbers and words scrolled down the screen, "this is interesting…" he kept reading the information until he a bright light shone from above, looking up he saw the sun's solar flare change color, going from a bright red to a darkened black hue, "whoa."

"That's new," Theodore commented, leaning back in his chair as the sun's flares all turned to a black hue, whipping around like lashes, "you getting this?"

"Recording it now," Kevin told his companion, "this is strange, these readings are… they're through the roof!" looking up he said, "something is off about this, contact ARK command and the other satellites, ask them if these readings are right."

The glasses wearing man nodded and pulled up a special phone, one that had a direct line to the ARK command building in Havon.

Meanwhile

Back on Earth on a small island near the United States was a large concrete building, the letters SC7 were painted on the side in bold. On top a single spinning light shone brightly, a red beam piercing through the darkness and lighting up small parts of the surrounding area as an alarm sounded. The ground shook, and in a small clear the ground opened up, large steel doors pushed up through the ground and went over to the side as a countdown sounded, "5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1 … Fire." as it ended the ground shook full force as the tip of a rocket burst forth, and into the sky. Burning any grass nearby and blowing trees to the ground. The missile soared into the sky, its afterburners kicking in and shooting it into lower orbit.

Back on the space station with Kevin, the man spotted the small light on his screen, "what is that?"

"Huh?" Theodore asked, turning to face his friend as the phone rang, "what?"

"See that, on the horizon," he got up and walked over to the viewing port and looked out, he saw the small speck shooting up into orbit, leaving a trail of smoke behind as it cut through the atmosphere, "is that a missile?"

"Oh my god," looking at his computer's screen, he saw the readout of what kind of missile it was. "Someone fired a missile! An ICBM from the looks of this readout," ever since ARK launched their Satellites into orbits, each one was built with special sensors for detecting missiles such as ICBMs and such, if there was one spotted an alert sounded throughout the station and an emergency was sent straight to all ARK complexes throughout the world, "it came from the US!"

ARK was prepared for most things, war wasn't one of them.

"What, why!? Where is it heading!?" Kevin cried as several other people groggily ran into the observation deck, their eyes locked on the missile made their eyes widen, "well?!"

Breaking eye contact from the dome and looking at his computer, he calculated the trajectory and where it would hit, "it is heading fo-" he was cut off as a bright light was seen above where the missile was, the shockwave could be seen expanding outward in a wide circular arch. The concussion rocked the station even from miles away, knocking everyone onto their backs as the lights flickered, and the station descended into darkness.

"The End Is Only the Beginning"

Back down on earth, in the woodlands outside of Glendale was Ash Ketchum and his companions, John, Louis and Dredrick, the four spread out looking through the woods for a Pokemon for John to capture. Dredrick however was snapping several photos of various wild Pokemon he spotted bounding through the underbrush.

"Find anything?" Louis called out, his Charmander Jurichi sniffing around for any Pokemon scents. So far all she smelled was flowers, and pine.

"Nope," Ash replied from his position near the only Oak tree, hehe, "John?"

"…" No answer.

"Hey John!" Louis broke through some of the bushes and peered around to where his best friend was, not seeing him he got slightly worried and started looking around.

Ash then turned around, eyeing the spot where he last saw the teen, "Pikachu, did you see where he went?"

Pikachu shook its head, "Pika."

The Kanto native looked around, but could not find any sign of his new friend. "Strange, where did he go?" he decided to look for him, walking through the thick grass he didn't have to look far as he found the teen standing in a small clearing up ahead, "Hey John, did you find something?" he asked, tilting his head.

The brown haired teenager said nothing as his were locked on the sky above, his eyes wide and his jaw hanging open, "oh my god."

Ash was about to ask when Pikachu tapped him on the leg, looking down the Pikachu told him to look up and when he did he saw something in the sky, a massive blinding flash of light was up in the night sky. Out of it a large ring expanded outward for miles and miles, the concussive forces of whatever it is was so powerful it affected the ground sending both Ash and John flying backwards. Trees swayed in random directions and a wind gust picked up, blowing grass and leaves everywhere.

Ash hit the back of a tree, sliding down as his Pikachu was sent farther back into the tree line. John was flung away into some bushes, he rolled for a few feet before hitting a rock, he yelled out as the winds ceased and he was left in pain sitting against a rock.

"Ash! John!" Louis yelled, running through the woods until he ran up on Ash who was struggling to stand. He had the wind knocked out of him, and his legs were shaky, "Ash, are you alright?! What the hell happened?"

Ash shook his head, "I don't know, John flew over there, I think he's hurt."

Louis wasted no time running over to his friend as Ash retrieved Pikachu who had a bump on its head, luckily it wasn't anything serious. John was just getting up from where he was flung to as Louis made his way over, "Louis, what the hell happened?"

"I don't know man," he helped up the light blue eyed trainer as he looked up into the sky, seeing the lights raining down from above he said, "but I bet it has something to do with that light show."

"John! Louis!" Dredrick called out, dashing through the woods until he showed up in the cleared with Professor Maple and Lucas in tow, the two carrying their bags as they looked up into the sky. Aiming his camera he looked into the sky and zoomed in to get a good shot.

"Boys, are you alright?" the professor asked, eyeing the two as Ash showed up with Pikachu, "what was that?"

The three shrugged, "no idea teach," Louis told him, "something went boom up there."

Lucas looked up into the sky and adjusted his glasses, the moonlight reflected off of them making a glare effect, "that's strange, I wonder what could have caused that?"

Ash's eyes were locked on the sky the sparking lights from whatever was up there raining down into the atmosphere, "weird…"

Not wasting time, the group headed back through the woods before going back to the lab, Lucas and Maple had gotten the samples that needed and wanted to start their testing as soon as possible. John had his hands in his pockets as he walked along the road, disappointed in not finding any Pokémon for hours. He searched hard but didn't find one, well… not the one he wanted. John cast a longing look over at Pikachu, the small yellow rodent was perched on Ash's shoulder asleep.

"I wish I could have found one," he sighed, he would never fin-

"Piiikaaachuuuuuuuuuuuuu!" a Pikachu yelled in the woods, blasting an electrical attack that soared into the sky above.

Everyone looked over at the woods, but john was already heading into it.

"Wait up!" Louis called out, running after him with his Charmander.

Ash trailed behind but not before saying, "we'll meet up back at the lab professor!" he then ran into the woods.

Lucas chuckled lightly, "kids… remember when you were that age, professor?"

Maple cracked a knowing smile, "oh I do, I miss those days." He said as he and the good Doctor walked to the lab, a night time chill cascading across the town.

"Do you ever wish you could do it again?" Lucas asked the professor, "go back to Pokémon training I mean."

"At times I do, but," Maple shrugged as his purplish eyes looked on into the sky, "I'm afraid I'm too old, I'm almost fifty you know."

Lucas scoffed lightly, "that's not old, you can still do it sir, if you wanted to."

Maple made a humming noise as they disappeared down the street, headed to the lab.

Back with John he was dashing through the woods, Louis and Ash trailing behind. Dredrick left them to go onto the lab, all the while snapping photos of rare Pokémon he spotted bounding through the woods. John could almost hear the battle now, soon enough he arrived into a clearing… and tripped, flying forward into a rock, face-planting against the hard surface before sliding down it comically, "Son of a bitch!" he groaned, rubbing his face as he stood up and looked at the battle, what he saw he couldn't believe.

In front of him was a battlefield, several nasty looking Houndooms were all over the place. Their fangs bared, and flamethrowers building up in their maws. They were acting like a pack of wolves, what they were after was what caught John's attention. Just barely standing up and clutching a bleeding wound was a Pikachu, but not just any kind of Pikachu… a pure snow white one.

Its fur was as white as the driven snow, covered in dirt, blood and leaves. The Pokémon's pure blue eyes were locked on the approaching horde of Houndoom. John acted fast, running forward he stood in front of the Pikachu and got into a fighter's stance. The Pokémon looked up at John as it fell onto its knee, coughing and struggling to stay awake.

Louis and Ash finally arrived on the scene, once Louis saw the Houndoom he cursed, "damn! Jurichi, use fire spin!"

The fire type lizard shot forward and attacked the nearest Houndoom, breathing in a fire attack and letting it loose on the Pokémon. A trail of fire arched around them burning the field and surrounding them, cutting them off from getting any closer to John or the Pikachu.

Ash helped as well, "Pikachu, Iron Tail!" he ordered, getting into his stance as his Pikachu with the speed of lightening appeared as one of the Houndoom snuck up and jumped at John. Pikachu's tail started to glow bright, and swinging its small body fast its tail collided with the fire type dog sending it flying into a tree and breaking it in half.

The blue eyed teen shot a grateful look at Ash before turning around to help the Pikachu, getting a good look at its injuries he winced, "alright little buddy, you're going to have to come with me, unless you want to end up dog food." He explained, slowly reaching out to the electric type.

The Pikachu eyed his hands as they came close, but didn't try to shock him as John picked it up and held it close.

"let's go!" John suggested as he ran through the woods, Ash and Louis took up the rear fending off what was left of the Houndoom as they ran to the lab, one injured Pokémon in tow.

"Kevin Franklin"
Earth's Lower Orbit – ARKSAT No2

"I got gas."

Kevin was stirring on the cold floor of the Ark satellite, the sounds of alarms and the sight of warning lights overhead told him to get up. He tried and felt some pain in his shoulder, he opened his eyes and saw the entire room was messed up. Panels were dented and some had fallen off showing the circuitry, the lights above had blown and the station was now shrouded in the red/yellow warning lights.

"Great," he groaned before getting into a chair, "call out!" he yelled, coughing afterwards.

"Ted!" his friend called, throwing a panel off of his body and onto the floor next to him making a loud clattering sound, "I'm alright, a bit banged up though."

"Lily!" a woman sounded off next, she was leaning on the side of one of the desks, her head had a small gash on it, "I'm cut, my head…"

Some more clattering sounded, and a door was forced open before it fell off of its hinges, smoke billowed from the room he was in and filled the observation deck's ceiling. "Ricardo!" the man yelled, falling to the floor, "fucking tired and hurting everywhere."

Kevin stood up and looked out into the space around earth, the sun was still flaring like before. Covering and shrouded in dark spirals and arches of darkness, the missile was nowhere to be seen, "Status report!"

His friend Theodore sat in his chair and tried to operate his computer, a few clicks of the buttons showed the system was offline, "computers are offline Kev," he tried the phone as well, "comms are down too."

"What happened?" Lily questioned as she sat down, feeling dizzy as a medical bot hovered over to her and fixed up her head.

"The US fired an ICBM, it exploded once it hit the atmosphere. Guess we were too close to the blast radius, any closer and we'd all be dead." Theodore explained, "But it did fry our systems, damn it all to hell."

Ricardo walked over to the viewing platform and gazed out at Earth, "goddamn, that missile did a number on this plexiglass," he remarked, his hand running alongside a series of cracks, "this needs to be repaired pronto."

"You get on that Ricky," Kevin told him as he looked over at Ted, "get the system back online anyway you can. We need to contact ARK command about this, I want to know what the fuck is going on!" Everyone dispersed and went about fixing up the system and glass, Kevin sat in the chair as he eyed his terminal and tried to fix it. It took several tries but he got it back online, only basic systems but it was on regardless. "got my terminal back online."

"Lucky."

Kevin cracked a smile as he started getting data, this coming from the missile fragments. His eyes read the data, and from what he was looking at it appeared it wasn't a regular ICBM. Some kind of gas like substance was filling the lower orbit, and spreading for miles, "there was some kind of gas in that missile."

Ted turned around and looked at Kevin, "gas?"

The man nodded, "I don't know what kind of gas though, the scanners don't recognize it." he said as he watched it slowly engulf the entire planet.

"Is it fatal?"

"I have no idea, I'm still getting heat signatures from the planet… no one looks like they're affected, my scanners are barely picking up the traces of it, whatever this is… I think we're the only ones who may be getting readouts of it."

Ted stood up and looked outside, he couldn't see the gas and asked, "I can't see it, why?"

"It's some kind of gas that can't be picked up by the naked eye, invisible to sensors and scanning equipment like ours, if we didn't have the high tech gear in here I don't think we would have picked it up at all…"

"Can we warn anyone?"

"I don't think so."

Kevin watched as the gas on the computer screen completely engulfed the entire planet, whatever this was… he had a feeling it wasn't a good sign.

"Alexi Borchovski"
Russia - Zakhaev international Airport
January 1
st – 001 - 010:30:48
"Welcome to Mother Russia"

Sitting in the Russian airport sat a tall man named Alexi Borchovski, a Pokémon Trainer by trade. He sat on one of the benches with a solid blue backpack next to him. He donned a simple black tee-shirt that hugged his chest, a pair of cargo pants, and a pair of hiking boots that were already broken in. Dark brown eyes hidden behind black sunglasses scanned the Airport's inside, he felt uneasy and he had no idea why.

Sitting next to him was one of his traveling companions, an American he was good friends with named Dustin Morin. He was dressed simple, wearing a white T-shirt under a black zip hoodie, torn jeans with shorts over that, and worn down tennis shoes. On his belt sat six Pokéballs, one of them was empty however, his Pokémon was lying next to him asleep, a small Pichu named Teia he has been raising for a few years. The small light yellow mouse Pokémon had grown quite attached to her trainer, never left his side for anything.

Looking up at Dustin Alexi asked, "Why do you not let her stay in her PokéBall?" he asked, his Russian accent was light compared to some.

Dustin shrugged, "she hates PokéBalls, like another one I met a long time ago when I was visiting Kanto." He sighed as he leaned back, cracking his knuckles, "man that was some trip."

Alexi nodded, "I heard they opened a gym up in Moscow," he said, trying to start up a conversation, "I heard the gym leader is Ex-Spetnaz, and a specialist in ground types." Reaching into his pants pocket he pulled out a map of Moscow, gesturing to the gym he said, "We should go check it out, at the very least get you off your lazy ass."

"Nigs I ain't lazy," Dustin shot back before he then yawned proving Alexi's point, "okay shut up."

Before Alexi could say anything else Teia shot up from her sleeping place, her ears twitching and her eyes wide as she frantically looked around for something, "what is wrong Teia?"

"Teia, sweetheart what's wrong?" Dustin asked picking up the small Pichu, "something wrong?" he asked her, she hadn't been like this for a while. But after ten years of Pokémon training and traveling he knew she must know something.

"Pichu pi!" she cried, gesturing wildly to the far side of the airport where several elevators sat, along with about seventy of so people who were waiting to get through, "Pi!"

Alexi knew this as well, even though he's two years younger than the twenty year old Dustin, "Elevators? What abo-" as he said that the doors opened, and Alexi spotted several men step out… armed with several kinds of firearms, "Dustin get down!" he yelled as they opened fire on the large crowd, gunfire echoed throughout the building as they gunned down the innocent and security guards.

Both of the seasoned trainers hopped over the metal bench grabbing their packs and dashing away from the attackers, they ran into one of the shops and took cover behind several bins along with two other people as the group moved slowly through the airport, their guns at hip level as they shot at anyone who moved and ran. 12 guage, 5.56 NATO, 9MM SMG and grenades were fired into the shops and into the halls, these men were killing any and everyone inside.

It was a slaughterhouse, and these men were the butchers.

Alexi peered past the bin at the men, he couldn't recognize their faces… except one. "Makarov."

"What?"

"It is Vladimir Makarov, the world's most wanted Terrorist," the Russian explained, "he is a sadist, a criminal, and a cold blooded killer."

"How do you know this?"

"I met him once, when I was still training back in Siberia. He came and killed everyone in the area I was at. He spared me for some reason… said I was not yet ready to die. This came from a man who burned down a hospital full of kids and elderly with a straight face, and no hesitation."

"Holy fuck dude we should get out of here before the-" he was cut shot as a grenade landed next to him, his eyes widened in fear as he picked it up and threw it over the bin where it landed in a bathroom. It exploded sending the door flying off of its hinges, and into one of the gift shops, "shit let's run dude!"

Alexi nodded and quickly moved away from the gunmen who moved towards the escalators, the two humans and Pichu moved down one of the halls looking for the exit. Behind them trailed two fearful citizens, they figured the two trainers might be able to protect them from harm, and get them out. A few more stragglers followed, and when Dustin looked behind him once they arrived in a hall he gawked, "dude, we got a crap ton of people following us."

The trainer looked behind him, he sighed as he ran a hand through his ebony hair before cursing in his native language. He turned to the people and whispered something in Russian, and gestured for them to stay low and quiet. Dustin understood him, over the past eight years they've been traveling they learned a little about one another. Some Russian speaking for Dustin, and English speaking for Alexi, it proved to strengthen the bond they had.

The group of two trainers and about twenty civilians moved though the halls, armed with about twelve Pokémon they could probably take out a couple of men… assuming they don't got shot first, that is.

Holding up his hand in a fist everyone stopped moving, Alexi moved up to peer into the hallway where he saw even more dead. People were gunned down in this hall as well, hundreds killed in seconds, people just going about their day. Meeting relatives, a loved one, or going to visit a destination were all killed in cold blood. He was disturbed by this to a point where he started shaking.

Dustin came up and placed a hand on his shoulder, "ease yourself friend," he whispered, "let's get these people out of here before we get spotted." He waited before saying, 'ride or die' in Russian, and holding out his hand.

Alexi smirked and too his hand, 'ride or die my friend', the two started moving, Dustin called out one of his more stronger Pokémon to help out. The PokéBall he produced was a darker red color them most, when the beam shot out and materialized it turned into a Jolteon, the electric fox growled menacingly, ready to kick some ass.

"Be on guard, we're in unsafe territory. When I tell you to shock someone, do not hesitate, give it all you got!" the dark brown haired Dustin whispered to his companion Pokémon. The fox nodded, showing a nasty grin.

As they emerged into the hall way, they took care not to step on any of the bodies. Men, Women and even children were killed. Their bodies torn apart by the gunfire and shells and explosions, it was a gruesome sight to behold.

"Die punks!" someone yelled as gunfire rang out, the two looked over near the other elevators, two men dressed in suits and wearing body armor walked to them, their guns aimed and firing.

Everyone scattered as fast as they could as Dustin ducked, holding his baby Pokémon close to his chest as he rolled to cover, his Jolteon didn't wait for a command and shocked the man with all he had. Over a hundred thousand volts ran through the terrorist's body, melting his gun to his hands and frying him, he screamed loud and long before falling to his knees.

Alexi had taken cover by one of the dead security guards, a look see of the man's holster showed he still had his pistol, he had taken it and it was a Five-Seven. "Dustin, are you alright!?"

"Yeah, just shit my pants is all!"

"Pichu pi!"

The group of people they had with them had managed to get to cover, only one of them was hit but he was still walking, holding his arm where a bullet had gone through. Wither or not this was before when the first attack began or just now he didn't know, "let's move, the exit's close by."

Dustin nodded, getting up he praised his Jolteon before picking up a pistol lying on the floor, he checked it, and the firearm was a Five-Seven like Alexi's. Taking the rear Dustin kept on guard, Alexi took point at Jolteon acted like a shepherd's dog, keeping everyone to the side and low as possible. Alexi had spotted the exit, but it led out onto the Tarmac where the planes where at.

He had been hearing sirens for a while now, and everyone looked relieved. He hoped they would get here soon.

"Wait up," Dustin said as he ran into one of the gift shops, he spotted someone inside. The group held up as Dustin went inside. Leaning up against the back of the shelves was a girl, a trainer like himself. Her stomach was bleeding, and beside her an injured Pokémon laid, "damn," reaching for another PokéBall he called out another one of his Pokémon, beside him now stood a Dragonite, "can you pick her up?" he asked his dragon, "be careful she's hurt bad."

The Dragonite nodded and picked up the young girl, she moaned light but didn't wake as the dragon held her in his arms. Dustin picked up her Pokémon which was an Eevee, it appeared to have taken a bullet to the leg but it was only a graze.

"Just hold on, we'll get you help."

They walked out of the gift shop and rejoined the group, many of them were looking at the Dragonite with feared gazes. Both trainers reassured them he was as friendly as they came, of course that was almost a lie. Bill proved to be a powerhouse when he was pissed off, today though he was docile.

Alexi opened the door to the tarmac, letting in the bright rays of sunshine as everyone ran outside. Then the gunfire started from the far left side, "move people! Run to the right!"

Everyone didn't waste any time doing so, they all screamed in terror as bullets whizzed past them and impacted the planes, carts, the building and pipes sticking out of the ground. Dustin gave the Eevee to his Dragonite and told him to lead the group to safety up ahead, he and Alexi stayed behind, "Bill! Get this people to safety, we'll hold them off for as long as we can!"

Bill didn't like it but he knew they could hold their own for now, taking off he hovered above the group of people and lead them to the parking lot up ahead, the location of the sirens and hopefully the police. Teia stayed in Dustin's hood, her tiny stubby arms thrown over her head as the sounds of bullets impacting things near her sent shivers of terror down her spine.

Alexi took cover by a small van as Dustin was hidden behind a cart, down the tarmac near another entrance walked several men like before, all of them armed with heavy weapons and body armor. "You ready for this Alexi?"

"For Russia, and Cheese doodles!" he yelled, pumping a fist.

"Pfft!" his friend laughed, taking aim with his pistol he fired, he missed, "fack it." The two trainers didn't have much ammunition on them, just what they had in the clips, "Mew, help us out here." he prayed as he aimed once more, this time when he fired the bullet hit one of the men in the leg, sending him crumpling over, "booyah!"

Alexi was having more luck however, his father was in the military so he grew up learning a few things. One of them was gun training, he fired on the group of terrorists, his bullets impacting their armor but not spotting them, "we're not doing much good here comrade!"

"I figured as much!"

Even though they were outnumbered and outgunned, they had to hold them off. But from the looks of this situation it wouldn't be long before those men made their way over and killed them. Both of the trainers aimed their guns and fired, trying their best to make their shots count. Most hit the armor they wore or grazed their legs.

And as if life wanted to make things worse, two more doors opened up on the far side, revealing even more armed people ready to kill.

"Fuck." He was about to fire when his gun clicked empty, "I'm out!"

"Me too."

Dustin was about to run when a beam of white suddenly shot down from nowhere and took out half of the man standing there, and a large explosion followed afterwards showering the others with hot flaming debris, "wait what?"

"Looks like Bill didn't want to miss out," the Russian commented, smirking as he looked up into the skies to see a large dragon circling around for another run.

"You go Bill!"

The massive Dragon Pokémon charged up another Hyper Beam in his maw, taking aim at the far wall he waited for a moment before firing. The concussive blast took out the wall, half of the ground and the other soldiers in one hit. The explosion rocked the ground for a mile as smoke rose up into the sky, Bill quickly pulled up and like a jet soared up and over to Dustin and Alexi before setting down, making a thump sound as he landed.

"Good going Bill," Dustin rose a thumb, "that was good work, well done."

Behind them the Spetnaz and police moved in from the sides, police vans drove up to inspect the enemies as several police went over to the two trainers, "what happened here?!" one of the men yelled, taking off his helmet showing a shaved head and graying eyes.

"We took out the baddies," Dustin said, checking his pistol. The slide was locked back, meaning it was empty, Alexi's was as well. They both handed over their weapons, "did the others my Dragonite lead out get to you all okay?"

The man in charge nodded, "Da," he looked ahead, seeing the destruction he asked, "you took them all out?"

Dragonite stood behind Dustin his hulking frame twice that of the small human's, "well, Bill took them out, we just gave him cover fire."

Alexi chuckled as an officer took the pistols from him and his friend, "well, we did alright for a couple of kids."

"We sure did."

The officers along with several medics then proceeded through the airport, checking for any additional threats and enemies, as well as survivors. All they found was the dead.

Dustin and Alexi stood out front with about a hundred or some other people who were getting checked out, hundreds more stood on the outside trying to get a look see at what was happening while news crews invaded the place like roaches finding scraps.

"Why would they attack an airport though?" Dustin asked as a Medic went over his head, apparently a bullet grazed him when he wasn't looking, and he needed stitches. Teia had a scrap on her arm, and was getting fixed up by a Chansey, "it's kind of random if you think about it."

"I do not know," Alexi admitted, "Makarov needs no reason to go on a killing spree, he's a killer, he'd kill his own mother if he felt like it."

"He probably already did."

As they conversed an Ambulance sped out of one of the garages, in its wake a body was found… the body of an American soldier, dressed like one of terrorists. Of course, no one would know this, until later…

"The Storm Wall"

Standing inside of one of the evac stations in Dubai was Jake, his firearm was shouldered as he peered outside into the storm that raged on, "goddamn it this is getting extremely bad."

The storms had let's up since they started four days ago, the sands were ripping through the city and he had heard from a small patrol that one of the hotel buildings collapsed. Killing about a hundred of so civilians inside, and outside as well, helicopters crashed into buildings and the RTM were making their move into the city on the far northern side.

He sighed, this wasn't good.

"Jake!" Nick called out, "the storm's letting up at last!" he cried, he looked happier than he's ever been before.

"What?" Jake turned around, "seriously?"

"Hell yeah! just got a look outside, and the eggheads said it's letting up and now we can evac the rest out of this city, and we can get out too!"

Jake smirked. Finally they could leave after four days of hardship. Running past his friend he ran up the stairs until he got to the roof, he was on the highest floor so he decided to go to the roof. Once he made it up there he spotted several civilians and soldiers looking out into the city, and into the distance.

But no one had a happy face.

Jake got a look at what they were seeing, and gasped. On the far edge of the city, surrounding it for miles was what looked like a massive wall of sand, swirling winds of dust and sand spiraled around the city for miles on end, completely encasing the city of Dubai in a massive gust of sandy wind the wrapped around the area.

"Jake wh- whoa." Nick got the same look, "holy… what is that?"

"I… I don't know… buts it's all around the city."

Nick was about to ask something else when he heard the sound of a plane engine, looking up into the skies near the wall of sand he spotted a 747 jumbo jet. It was one of the outgoing flights meant to leave after the storms were lifted, he saw it fly up into the sky… right into the storm wall, and go down. The plane hit the wall of sand before the gusting winds sent it flying to the side, and back towards the city, it was like the hand of god was turning the plane around. The sands interfered with it though, making the engines catch fire and explode before crashing on the outskirts near the highway, smoke pillars filled the skies above it.

"My god." Jake took out a scope for his rifle and looked out to where the plane crashed.

"The sand brought it down?!" Nick yelled, "what the fuck!"

"What the hell is this?!"

"Demon actual this is Demon 1, we have spotted the crash site and are moving in to find survivors over."

"Affirmative Demon 1, proceed with caution."

Jake and Nick heard it on the Radio, Demon Actual was the codename for the HERC special forces that were sent with the 33rd and 54th, they proved to be demons just by how they act. Cold blooded soldiers from America's HERC headquarters, they were a scary bunch.

"Jake… what do we do, if that wall can take down planes… what about choppers?"

"We can't risk it, Konrad wouldn't do that if he saw it, and I know he did. He won't risk it." Jake explained, he knew Konrad well, he was the commanding officer of the 33rd, he controlled every soldier, Humvee and APC they had. The man proved to be reliable, and trustworthy.

He hoped he would be able to figure out a way to get them out.

"The Mercer Bloodline"

Quinn had made it back to his apartment some time ago, but due to falling asleep he wasn't able to get any answers. He was tired, but now he was awake and ready to talk. He sat in his kitchen in the one bedroom apartment, his eyes locked on the small shiny Mew, "okay… talk," he said, "how do you know my brother?"

The mew hovered in front of him, her eyes a bright blue color that gleamed with a serious attitude, "Alex? I know him because he's my trainer."

"… Alex Mercer, the man they call the world's most wanted terrorist right next to that Makarov guy… is your trainer?" Quinn asked, his eyes showing he wasn't believing it, "uh, right."

"it's true," she told him, "he may not have told you this, but he was a trainer in his youth." She explained, "I was one of the many Pokémon he caught during his training days."

"You'd be surprised how little I know about Alex, we haven't seen or spoken to each other in almost sixteen years, until yesterday of course when he called me. I only know he caused some shit in New York that got about ten million people killed."

"He was turned into a monster Quinn, he had no choice or control over his actions."

"Monster?"

"That's right, you don't know…" she thought for a moment, "Alex told me to tell you anything about him, well… one of them was he was GENTEK's lead scientist on a secret project called Blacklight, though this project was a reincarnation of a virus called Redlight, anyone who knew about it was killed. Alex Mercer, your brother found out about everything and sought to destroy it. But he didn't get far, the samples were all stolen by Blackwatch, and the scientists under his command were killed, he grabbed a vial of the Blacklight and ran, but he was confronted in Penn Station where he was shot and killed."

"Wait, killed? But I just talked to him, how can he be dead?"

"That's the thing, he's not… the Blacklight virus was released when he was killed, and the virus bonded with Alex's blood turning him into a walking biological weapon of mass destruction. He woke up, and sought revenge on Blackwatch, as he did Blacklight spread across the city killing everyone and turning them into monsters, much like Alex but more primal."

Quinn gulped… he was a walking bio-weapon… "That doesn't sound pleasant… in the slightest."

"It wasn't, eventually he confronted Mother, or Elizabeth Greene. The one who was controlling the walkers and the original Redlight infected that stalked the city killing everyone and spreading the virus, he consumed her, gained her memories and eventually went after Blackwatch… afterwards the city was spared from a nuclear attack thanks to him, and the city eventually returned to normal after a few years and he went into hiding." She looked at Quinn, "he needs your help, Quinn…"

"You just said he was a walking weapon, why doesn't he just kick some major ass or something?"

"Alex thought he was indestructible, in truth he was. His body was impervious to anything, from Pokémon attacks, bullets and tanks shells, even a nuclear bomb didn't kill him. But the virus for some reason is wearing off in his body, and reverting back to a dormant state… soon he'll be his normal self in some time. And when is he he'll be vulnerable to attack and for that, he'll need your help."

Quinn scoffed lightly, "well… where is he?"

"He's coming here, to Union city."

"What?!"

"He's kept tabs on you ever since he left, regardless of what you think of him he cares deeply about both you and your sister." The mew told the human, "and right now he needs your help."

"What about Dana? Can't she help him?"

"Dana is coming here as well," the shiny told him, using her physic powers to open his door Quinn saw his half sister standing there, donning blue jeans, a jacket and a backpack, "welcome."

"Dana?" Quinn asked, standing up and walking over to his sister, she hadn't changed at all, "where the hell you've been hiding?"

The young woman was having a little trouble with the Mew, but said, "I've been moving around a lot, I couldn't let Blackwatch find me, or GENTEK for that matter." She explained, "Can I come in?"

He nodded and let her by, "So, what… little family gathering?" he asked, leaning against the door frame, unaware of someone approaching from behind.

"More or less, Oh, Alex is behind you."

Turning around, Quinn spotted an older looking man with a tired expression. "Alex?" he eyed the old man, then Mew, then Alex again, "well bro… you uh… changed your hair some…"

The old man sighed heavily before his form started to change, black tendrils warped and covered his body head to toe making Quinn stumble backwards into the floor. Landing on his butt, Quinn now saw the hood, those eyes…

"Hello Quinn." Alex greeted, eyeing his brother on the floor.

"… holy shit…"

"Gregory 'Python' Williams"

"Mystery Man"

"What do you mean this isn't Makarov?!" Ghost yelled, standing in the command center of the ship right next to 'Makarov'.

"I'm saying this man is not the terrorist," Baseplate told him, he was the man with information for the majority of the troops going after Makarov, "you've been played."

Python slammed his fist on the wall, the young man was still dressed in his fatigues and armor, sans his helmet, "you're telling me I went through all of that shit for nothing?"

"Who is that?"

MacTavish stepped forward, "his name's Python, last of Omega Squad. He was the one who helped us get Murdoch and whoever the hell that guy is."

"Well Python, I'm afraid so. Makarov is still at large. He and several men attacked an airport in Russia, killing hundreds before disappearing all together… but he left a body of one of our soldiers. He was the agent sent in to gather Intel on Makarov, now he's dead after killing several hundred people."

"Thousands of Russian bodies left at the feet of an American," MacTavish murmured, "this isn't good."

"No its not, the death of PFC Allen has sparked a major shitstorm between Russia and NATO." Baseplate explained, "everything Makarov has done, could spark a war between Russia and NATO."

Python and the rest looked up at the massive screen, on it showed the president of Russia speaking on behalf, and how America is going to be held responsible for this, "just when I think I'm going to go home, this shit happens." The young soldier commented falling down into his chair as his back acted up.

"141 this is General Shepherd," the man called out, everyone minus Python paid attention, "Intel on the shells used in the attack showed they came from an Brazilian arms dealer in Rio De Janeiro, your mission now is to find his right hand man in order to get to Rojas. Shepherd out."

MacTavish sighed, "one shitstorm after another."

"Got that right."

"Ash Ketchum"
Havon – Glendale - ARK lab N01

st – 001 - 01:30:28
"Things are Changing"

After having made it back to the lab ten hours prior, Ask Ketchum stood in one of the rooms of the massive lab complex alongside Louis, Dredrick, and John. The blue eyed teenager was sitting next to a bed which had the injured Pikachu lying on it covered in bandages, Ash's own Pikachu sat next to it.

"How is the Pikachu doing?" Lucas asked as he appeared in the doorway, "any better?"

"Slightly better," one of the doctors said, a short blonde female wearing white Nurse garb, "its heart rate is back to normal, its blood work is fine aside from a few anomalies, she's looking to be in good shape."

"She?" John asked, he thought it was a boy. The tail didn't have the indent though.

"Yes, I understand how you're confused." She gestured to the tail, "while the majority of female Pikachu have the indent, there are a few cases in which the female doesn't have the particular gene in which the indent grows in." the doctor placed a hand on the injured Pokémon's head, "she's one of them, you wouldn't be able to tell unless you read the bloodwork, or she told you."

John nodded, understanding. Though he didn't know about the genes, he knew there were a few cases in which a Pokémon looked male, but was in fact, female. He sighed as he looked at her, "does she have a trainer?"

"No, she's a wild Pikachu. She doesn't have the nanites in her system that occurs once a Pokémon is captured in a PokéBall."

"I know what you're thinking John," Louis said, standing next to his friend, "you want to capture her?"

John nodded sheepishly, "only if she wants me to, I won't take her with me against her will."

"That's a noble sentiment, what if she decides to shock the shit out of you?"

"Oh well, I'll get to experience that, hehe."

Ash smiled, John was a pretty decent guy. "Almost like me."

As they waited for the Pokémon to get better, Professor Maple sat in his office looking at his computer terminal. On it were readouts of something Dr. Adler and his cohorts were working on, a cancer eating virus called the N4 virus. The very image of the virus made him sick, but it could prove to be a medical breakthrough if it works out as intended, he sighed, "I only hope that man knows what he is doing…"

Outside of the complex, in the night sky the gas had finally been dispersed from the missile and spread throughout the entire globe, into every house, and building, and into the very ground deep beneath the earth, to the highest building to the deepest buried bunker it spread, covering every inch of the planet.

No one knew what was going, and no one would… before it was too late.
