Time passed by quickly. Waiting for no one, nothing to care about. Time still goes on and can't be stopped by anything. Even with Humanity's Strongest Soldier.

Time is a powerful power that can change anything. Every single thing can change because of time. Humans change nature, time changes humans.

Ten years have passed since humanity went to the outside world and enjoyed their freedom. The three layers of wall that are standing proudly, are just a piece of history now. A history where humanity was nearly wiped out because being hunted by their natural enemy- the Titans. Now, Wall Maria, Rose and Sina are standing as the ultimate evidence.

"Ne, Mama." An innocent child voice sung his curiosity, "Is it true- that in the past Titans' existed?"

The mother of the child smiles warmly. "Yes, dear. But now humanity has been freed from them." Caressing her son's hair, the healthy boy, about 7 years old, giggled. His small fingers brushed the book's chocolate and rather old cover, flipping page by page, before he showed a picture with a pair of bright eyes.

"What is this, Mama?" The small finger pointed at three emblems that were really familiar in their time of glory.

"Those are the groups of soldiers, dear." The mother walked and motioned her son to sit on the dinner chair. It was already the time for the cute little boy to grab his lunch. He stared at his lunch that his mother prepared for him with a smile.

"What is this flower emblem?" He pointed to the emblem that has a shield with two red flowers on top- covering the shield's picture.

"That's called the Garrison, the soldiers helped to take care of the wall and protect it if there was an attack from the Titans."

"Whoaa..." That boy glanced at the green-colored unicorn emblem, "What about this?"

"That's the Military Police- Hey, chew your potato properly." Said his mother reminding him, "Their duty is to keep the law in the Government."

"Hmmm." The boy hummed and let his mother wipe a stain away he got from the food he ate, "What about this?" his eyes glimmering in interest. An emblem with a pair of wings, one is white and the other dark blue. His mother chuckled at that, and pointed at the emblem with her finger.

"It's the Scouting Legion. A place where the bravest soldiers struggled and fought to kill the Titans outside the Wall. For the sake of humanity and grabbed their dreams to live outside the Wall."

"COOOL!" He screamed in awe, a big smile was formed on his face – showing a missing tooth of his, "I want to join the Scouting Legion!"

The smile on his mother's face faded and was replaced by a confused face, trying to search for a logical explanation to tell her son, "But dear, now humanity is free, they're not needed anymore."

"Aww... Come on..." He pouted.

His mother could just smile and watch her son finish his meal.

Yes, there's still a group of people who cannot forget the sad moments and the moments where hope is no more in their selves. Anxieties lived behind the Walls surrounded by the danger behind.

"We got guests gain."

"Tch." His response signed that he didn't like the news, "They again?"

A nod.

"I don't have time for that." Said the man as he walked away, not giving a shit about it.

"Wait, Rivaille! You want me to face them alone?! Hey!" Whined a woman wearing glasses. Her clothes, which were just a yellow shirt and black pants looked messy.

"There's no benefit talking to those greedy people. See you, Hanji-"

"YOU'RE SOO MEEEAAN!"

Rivaille walked down the stairs towards the basement. The daily routine that formed itself, unnoticed by himself, from how often he came down here.

Time can change human. But it doesn't work on Rivaille.

A long sleeved white shirt with a cravat on his neck as usual. Silky black hair with a gaze as sharp as a cutter blade is still the same. The man walked to the usual spot he always stayed at. Seeing his beloved lover who's still sleeping. Ten years have passed, but there's no sign that Eren will wake up. Eren will always be sleeping wrapped in that ice, and Rivaille will always sit in silence waiting for him.

"Hey, Eren." Rivaille gave him a charming smile as always, even though he entered the age of fourty. He brought his hands up to touch the ice, his fingertips rubbing the surface softly, feeling how mysterious it can be, this cold. Of course there's a sad feeling planted deep inside his heart, but he decided to accept it wholeheartedly.

Time can change that. Even though it needed ten years for that.

"Eren, humans are selfish." Rivaille inhaled deeply, and positioned himself to sit on the floor, directly in front of the ice. He already got used to the killing cold sensation that is stabbing his skin. "Humanity already claimed the whole place in this world. Heh, I even still don't know what's out there." Snorted the Corporal, "But, in a matter of time, they build regions, countries, and started a war to reclaim those."

He changed his legs position into straight, 'Shit. I'm already past my youth...' he grunted in his mind while rubbing his sore legs softly. He starts to talk again, "While in the past we united for the sake of killing those shitty monsters out there. After those creatures fanished from our world, humanity started to kill each other, heh..." A small smile formed on his face when he remembered that bald old grandpa said something similar, "Looks like it's from that Bald Pixis' speech that I heard through Arlert... It comes true in the end, huh?"

"If humanity falls, it's not because swallowed by a titan. But because they're killing each other."

His hands reached into a small pouch he brought, taking out a small square bottle made of steel. He swiftly twist the bottle cap without wasting time, and gulped the contains. The wine Irvin bought from the outside world sure is delicious. He licked his lips, savoring the faint taste of the wine he drank earlier, "And now, the humanity who's trying to take over the authority of this Walls will come to debate which is to remain of the authority. It's enough to give me a headache handling them."

Rivaille took a sip of the wine again and exhaled deeply in satisfaction, "Well, there's not much population that stays inside the Walls. Moreover inside here – Sina, that's because the Military Police hasn't finished packing their stuffs. I'm curious on how much money they corrupted. It makes me jealous." He let out a small laugh, "Just kidding. Don't compare me to that piece of trash."

A small smile full of pride and glory appeared on his face for a moment. For the one who bears the Wings of Freedom on his back cannot do something so despicable like that, he has to hold his pride up high. The strong will of his to sacrifice himself for the humanity's sake will not forgive him. Eren absolutely agreed with it. He's really proud of his division's emblem, right? Rivaille took another sip of the half empty wine.

Not only the Wings of Freedom. Eren Jaeger was also proud of his duty. He was really hardworking, not really different from Rivaille. They're not called the Humanity's Strongest Soldiers and Humanity's Hope for no reason.

The Humanity's Strongest Hope that will lead humanity to the gate of freedom.

Huh, sounds so heroic isn't it? Rivaille snorted again. They will not achieve it without the sacrifice of the fallen soldiers. Maybe he'll go back to pour some fresh water to the tombstones bearing the emblem of the Wings of Freedom's, which is located deep in the forest where Petra, Gunther, Auruo and Erd passed away. Maybe he'll bring a few flowers with him. It seems like a good idea.

"Ahhh..." Moaned Rivaille slowly, "I'm really alone now, hm?"

There's no Auruo who's trying to imitate him. No jokes from Erd and Gunther. Not those warm smiles of Petra he always received. And not the warmth of Eren.

'Now, I am just a piece of humanity's darkest history that's waiting for his death. If that means I can meet you guys, then maybe I'll look forward to it. There's nothing left I can do right now-'

"Rivaille! Help me, shove them away! Please!" Hanji comes, breaking away Rivaille's melancholy thoughts with a crying face of hers. Rivaille, unwillingly, gets up from the cold floor, kissed the surface of the ice that's wrapped Eren inside softly, and then tries to catch up with Hanji to the sunlight bathed place.

'Well, maybe I can do something while waiting for that moment.' Rivaille walked out to the court outside the Sina Courthouse, spreading his death glare and killing intent that can make those people wet their pants.

"Disturbing my time with Eren. I will not forgive you."

.

.

"They still failed obtained those historical Walls."

"Damn, what were they doing?"

"There's still a group that's refusing to hand over the artifacts to the countries that are fighting over to claim it – including us."

"Who?"

"Most of them were soldiers."

"What made them refuse?"

"..."

"Is there something they're hiding from us? Something precious?"

"I don't know."

"But if it's true that they're hiding something, we must confirm it."

A smile bloomed.

"If diplomatic ways are useless, we'll wave out the flag of war. We will obtain Maria, Rose and Sina. We'll obtain something they keep there at once."

"A good idea Your Highness."

"Prepare the troops."
