"Did you hear that?" Elsa asked from beside John. As soon as Sven arrived at the palace, they started following him back up the mountain. Sitting in a sled led by Sven followed by two other sleds with guards, they were going to find Anna and Kristoff.
"What?" John was concentrated on the snow covered fields in front of him.
"I thought I heard something." Elsa stared off into the field of mountains in the distance. She could swore she had heard her sister's name. Then again, it could have been her imagination. She hadn't gotten any sleep last night and was most likely losing it.
"I think we're almost there." John pointed to the now visible campfire smoke rising into the air. As they neared the location of wherever Anna and Kristoff were, Elsa could only pray that her family was safe.
…...
"Anna! Anna!" Kristoff yanked his arms until the rope broke from around his wrist. He didn't care about the rope burn he inflicted on himself. All that mattered was Anna as he frantically crawled to her side.
"Anna please." He pulled her limp form into his arms and cradled her face. He nearly started crying when he saw her breathing slowly but steadily. As the thugs parted way in front of him, he wrapped his arms protectively around Anna.
"What's going on out here?" The dreadfully familiar voice was followed by heavy footsteps. Kristoff glanced up and met Hans stare as he approached them.
"What did you do?" Hans whirled on his thug companions. The one with the club shrugged.
"She was getting on our nerves sire. She was throwing things at us." Hans sighed and ran his hand through is hair.
"See, this is why you are a convict and a thug! If you weren't so impatient, then maybe you would still be married and with your family!" Hans gestured off into the distance. Kristoff thought about how well Hans must have known these men in order to recruit them for his cause. It must not be easy to get people motivated to fight the Ice Queen of Arendelle.
"Go back and do whatever it was you've been doing!" Hans disbanded the group with an exasperated gesture and sighed again. With another quick glance towards Kristoff and Anna, he turned and returned to his tent.
"You're okay. I've got you." Kristoff whispered to Anna. He wrapped her purple cape around her body to keep her warm and positioned her so her forehead was in the crook of his neck. As he sat back against a sleigh, he could only hope that help was coming soon.
