"Sasuke-kun!"
The said boy turned around to the ever familiar sight of flowing pink hair running towards him.
"Sakura." He muttered.
"Good morning!" Sakura greeted breathlessly. The pinkette cast a bright smile to him, until her eyes cast downwards to his fingers, noticing the slip in between his fingers. "You got your class already? Aah!" Quickly abandoning him, she ran over to check what class she was in, eyes quickly scanning the board. But she had no need to do that, as Sasuke came up behind her, moments later.
"It's Class 7A."
She turned hopeful eyes to him. "And your class?"
"7B."
For a moment disappointment hit Sakura hard, but she quickly covered up it up with a curve of her lips. "We'll see each other at basketball, at least!" And Sasuke nodded in reply, inwardly buzzing with excitement as the two of them walked together to their new class.
The day flew by, as basketball trails arrived. Sakura had already received her manager form. There wasn't much competition for Sakura, as she looked around her fellow managers. Majority of the fangirls had already been eliminated, and what was left was the 'capable' ones. "Wait patiently Sakura, wait patiently to surprise them." she thought, smirking to herself.
A graceful smile appeared on her face when she heard a loud ruckus. She turned around thoughtfully, already beginning pay attention to the noisy ones first - after all she would soon become their manager. But the smile dropped off her face immediately as she found the source of noise came from Sasuke.
Sasuke.. and a bright blonde hanging off his shoulders?
"Sasuke-kun!" she jogged over to him, sending questioning vibes to her childhood friend.
"Aa, Sakura." His mouth opened in speech, until the said blonde interrupted him.
"Ooh! A pretty girl? How could you have a girlfriend like that, teme?" He yelled, even louder now that she was up close. But Sakura paid no attention to his voice at all. Instead her cheeks blushed a bright red.
"I-I-I'm not his-"
Sasuke glared at the blonde. "She's none of your business. And stop calling me teme, dobe."
Unfortunately for the both of them, the blonde was even less discouraged. "Well then my names Naruto! Nice to meet you.. is it Sakura?" He yelled, running up to grab her hands. The confused girl nodded in reply, and a glaring Sasuke walked up to approach the blonde, when another glaring boy walked up towards the pair.
"Basketball try outs are over there. Don't disturb the managers tryouts." The newcomer jerked his thumb in the opposite direction before turning to Sakura. She kept a nervous smile on her face, afraid of his height, until he broke out into a smile. "Apologies for the messy behavior. And if your to become a future manager, then as the team captain, I'm Kakashi. Nice to meet you." Sakura opened her mouth to refuse his apology, when she noticed Sasuke had already walked away. Masking on another polite smile, she introduced herself in return.
The moment she laid eyes on the team in front of her, Sakura realised just how overwhelming the first years were. Her eyes scanned the average boys with hopes of getting in the team, but her concentration was on the 5 boys in front of her. Obviously Sasuke was within these geniuses, surprisingly Naruto, and also other 3 mysterious auras. She took a quick glance at the coaches, and smiled knowing they felt the same way she did. As Sasuke and the others began their drills, the pinkette switched her on her brain and picked up her pen. There was going to be a lot of data collecting today.
And one hour later, Sakura smiled as she saw her own notes being passed to the coach.
First it had went to their 3rd year manager, and then it had been passed to the team captain, until finally being handed to the coach himself. "The manager tryouts certainly won't be lasting as long as the basketball tryouts." Sakura thought to herself happily, as she watched her senior manager walk towards her with a smiling face. After a quick chat, Sakura turned around to find Sasuke behind her.
"Got the manager position?" he inquired.
And she smiled like a ray of sunshine. "Easy peasy!"
He gave the slightest of a smile, before he tched to himself in reply. "These basketball trails need to be faster too."
And instead of focusing of her own achievement, she quickly reassured her dear childhood friend. "You'll be getting in, without a doubt Sasuke-kun." He smirked at her utmost confidence, and the two walked together to their classrooms once again.
A week later, Sasuke got in too. And now with the "Generation of Miracles" formed, from there on, Sasuke and Sakura's years at Teikou would fly by.
