How could it be possible for two such opposite souls to be in so tune with each other?

A certain pinkhead's thoughts wandered in the clouds as she gazed at the pair of boys in front of her. Sasuke, her dearest childhood friend, and Naruto, a new basketball member that was quickly fitting in their small group. Despite the short amount of time the bright blonde had spent with them, it almost felt like the three had known each other for longer than just this life time. Listening in to their loud laughs (well, more like only Naruto laughing obnoxiously), Sakura let out a small wistful sigh. It escaped her almost unconsciously, and she didn't even realize she had let it out until Kakashi pointed it out.

"Is everything alright, Sakura-chan?" The basketball captain inquired.

She tore her eyes away from her favourite boys, and to her almost-mentor with a confused glance. "Yes?"

Realizing that the girl was in her daydreams, he dropped the topic quickly. "Are you finished with todays analysis?" Sakura nodded in reply, distractedly handing over her sheets. Looking over her report, he decided to give her a break. "Sakura, your free to go now." The sweet girl smiled in appreciation, but didn't budge from her spot. Instead, she went back to musing.

Merely two weeks ago Sakura had jokingly dubbed the pair as "Light and Shadow". Naruto was the "Light", bright, cheerful and always full of hope. Sasuke was the "Shadow", quiet, stoic and worked effectively by himself. Although both were of equal abilities, it seemed that on court the two brought out the best of each other and created an even stronger and scarier level of talent. Instead of the name being passed off as a joke, it quickly spread to the rest of the club, and thus, was now their permanent nickname. Sakura pondered thoughtfully about the nickname over and over again, and could not think of any other conclusion other than how accurate it was. However, it did not stop the slight tinge of jealously towards Naruto. Before it was just Sakura and Sasuke, their worlds alone. But now Sasuke was getting serious about basketball, and it meant he had to find an actual partner to play with. Not someone who's talent lied in analyzing and organizing basketball players, which was Sakura. She didn't blame Naruto however, and in fact she loved him for his sunny personality. But the jealously that was creeping in the borders of her thoughts was putting her in a stump for the past week.

Her green eyes stared absentmindedly at the pair, mostly unbeknownst to their knowledge until Naruto turned left. The bright blonde, harboring a joking crush to his manager took the stare as something else. Something silly, like a love filled gaze dreaming about her hero, Naruto.

"Aww Sakura-chan, your so cute when you stare at me like that! If you wanna date me just tell me and I'd be willing!" He called across the courts.

The manager quickly snapped out of her thoughts and into the sight of Naruto running towards her. He had almost made it with his scary speed, but a hand had stopped him from enveloping her into a crushing hug.

"Oi, teme. Don't molest Sakura."

And with a harsh tug, he pulled the wailing boy away from the said girl.

Sakura stared at her boys retreating backs for a while, still confused from the extremely fast ordeal. But as she watched the two boys joke together, she only giggled and ran after them - determined not to be left out. Whatever stump she was left in for the past week, it was about time she pushed it aside and just continued being Sakura.

("See! Sakura-chan does want to be with me!"

"You idiot, I wanna be with Sasuke-kun! Not you!" She poked a tongue at him.

"But Saaaakura-chan~!"

The quietest member of the trio only smirked to himself at their banter.)

Thinking back, these times were a treasured memory for Sakura. It was one of their last moment as happy normal teenagers, before...
