Contest Arena
"Hello everyone, and welcome to the next match of the second round! To my left is Olivine City's Jasmine"
Jasmine was dressed in her attire from the Johto remakes and had a confident look in her eyes. "May the best woman win."
"To my right is Jessalena!"
Jessalena also had a look of confidence in her eyes as the match was about to start. "Likewise. Let the battle of Ghost versus Steel begin."
The Television then proceeded to show a circular wheel with the numbers 1, 2, and 3 on it. "Spin the wheel!"
The wheel began to spin Clockwise for a few moments before eventually landing on… "A Double Battle, let's begin!"
Jasmine reached into her pocket and pulled out two pokeballs. "Steelix and Magnezone, let's go!" Jasmine threw them into the air and released her Pokémon from their pokeballs.
Jessalena proceeded to reach into her pocket and pull out her two Pokemon for the match. "Jellicent and Gourgeist, I choose you." She then released her Pokémon from their pokeballs.
After their Pokemon were released, the wheel was replaced with a 5 minute timer and the match began.
"Steelix, use Stealth Rock. Magnezone, use Magnet Rise!" Steelix then proceeded to scatter rocks all over the arena while Magnezone used its attack to levitate.
"Jellicent, use Psychic on the Stealth Rocks. Gourgeist, use Leech Seed on Magnezone!" Jellicent agreed with her trainers command and managed to get the rocks in the air, while Gourgeist fired the Leech Seed from its mouth and managed to hit Magnezone, causing Jasmine to lose points.
Jasmine's look of confidence turned into a serious look as she contemplated her next attack. "All right then. Steelix, use Earthquake. Magnezone, use Flash Cannon." Steelix complied with its trainer's command and slammed its tail into the ground, causing the Earthquake. Magnezone then put its magnets together and launched a large silver beam of energy at Jessalena.
Jessalena then crossed her arms as she gave her next command. "Gourgeist, use Shadow Sneak. Jellicent, use Confuse Ray on Steelix." Gourgeist proceeded to teleport while Jellicent launched its attack at Steelix, confusing the Pokemon but still taking damage from the Flash Cannon.
As both Coordinators lose points, the Earthquake subsides.
"Steelix, use Gyro Ball. Magnezone, use another Flash Cannon." Steelix used its tail to create a large ball of energy and then proceeded to fire it at Jellicent, while Magnezone pulled its magnets together and fired another attack at Jellicent.
"Jellicent, use Hydro Pump!" Jellicent opened her mouth and fired the attack at the Gyro Ball and Flash Cannon combination. When it collided, the Hydro Pump combined with the two Steel type moves and hit both Pokemon as a result, sending them into a wall. After a few seconds of silence, Gourgeist re-appeared in front of the two Pokemon with a sinister smirk on her face. "Gourgeist, use Flamethrower!" Gourgeist opened her mouth and fired the attack at the two Steel types.
As her Pokemon were taking damage, Jasmine tried in desperation to think of a counter-attack. "Steelix, use Earthquake!" Steelix then tried to use its tail to slam into the ground, but Jessalena had a plan up her sleeve. "Jellicent use Psychic to restrain them!" Jelllicent complied with her trainer's command and used her attack to restrain the two Steel types from attacking.
After a few seconds, the two Steel types were knocked out and Gourgeist stopped her attack.
Marian then walked on stage holding her microphone. "Time."
As the two Coordinators look at the TV screen, they noticed that the winner was… "Jessalena wins the match!"
As the audience roars in applause, the two Coordinators return their Pokémon to their pokeballs.
After Jasmine returned her Pokémon to their pokeballs she let out a sigh. "Good job guys. You did your best."
She then walked over to Jessalena and smiled. "Congratulations Jessalena on your victory. For the sake of this match, Ghost beat out Steel."
Jessalena smiled back. "Thank you Jasmine. This was an interesting match and I look forward to fighting you again."
As Jasmine left the Contest Arena, Jessalena returned to the waiting room.
Waiting Room
As Jessalena returned to her seat, she didn't utter a word to her fellow competitors. Another win… She then reaches into her pocket and pulls out an old Pokeball. After all these years, this Pokemon is still with me… Miyamoto…
Trish notices Jessalena looking at an old Pokeball and goes over to talk to her. "Something wrong Jessalena?"
Jessalena stops looking at the pokeball and then turns her attention to Trish. "My apologies Trish, I was just remembering something."
"I see… That does look like an old pokeball. I take it that pokeball is an heirloom?"
Jessalena then nods her head. "The Pokémon that's in this ball is rumoured to be a reincarnation of a woman who got lost on an icy mountain... Since I got this pokeball, I have always kept it on my team."
"Interesting. Well, good luck in the next round Jessalena."
Jessalena then smiled. "Likewise Trish."
After Trish returned to her seat, The Black Greninja stood up and walked down the hallway to the Contest Arena.
Lila also got up and smiled. "Looks like it's my time to take on this masked man." Lila then walked over to Dawn. "Hey Dawn. I just wanted to wish you luck in the third round. In case I don't win this match, I just want to wish you luck in your future endeavours."
Dawn then smiled in response. "Thanks Lila."
"No problem Dawn. Me and your mom will be watching your next match from the sidelines, so don't disappoint her."
Dawn nodded her head as Lila left for the Contest Arena.
